We have just returned from our stay at the Apurva Kempinski. We stayed for 3 nights in the Cliff Private Pool Ocean Suite. We requested for a room with more sunshine, and we got exactly what we wanted, a room with wonderful sunshine all day. Our first impression when we arrived, was how incredibly impressive the lobby was! We were just standing there with our mouths wide open. Hands down, the most impressive lobby we've ever been in. Our private pool suite, was absolutely amazing, floor to ceiling windows, and waking up to the sun rising and the perfect views from the room, will be locked in our memories for a long time. We don't impress easily, and we have some very good hotels from Maldives to Phuket. But this place really took it to a whole new level....and then some. It's really too general to group all 5 star hotels in the same group, because as in this case, it proves that Apurva is in a league of it's own. We met a friendly face in Reto Leutenegger, the F&B manager who came up to speak to us while we were enjoying our cocktails and canapes at PALA rooftop bar on the first evening after we checked in. It is always nice that management takes the time to engage with guests. He must be a busy man, but he took the time to have a chat with us. We were just a couple in a really large hotel with lots of rooms and guests, he could easily just not come over and talk to us. Although we only stayed for 3 nights, we met him numerous times, because he was constantly making his rounds to the different food outlets. Which probably explains why this resort is run like a well-oiled machine, management is on the ground and working, constantly. We also would like to give credit to the housekeeping. We would always call to have the room cleaned and made up before we left for breakfast each morning, and each time, by the time we return, the room is spotlessly clean, beds made, and all the extra bottles of requested water are there. We never saw them once, they were like magic elves that came, did their magic and left. Considering how many rooms they have here, they are truly the unsung heroes, the backbone of any well run hotel. I saw some reviews complaining about how it wasn't possible to take any photos with a camera, or how they were told not to, so knowing all this before we came, we were quite unsure about this, because we have a friend in Bali, who's an avid photographer, and was coming over to visit us during our stay. When he came, all we had to do, was to go to the lobby, fill up a form, and that's it, less than 3 minutes, no fuss, absolutely painless. You're on someone's property, it's only simple courtesy to ask for permission from your host, isn't it? Respect works both ways. We absolutely loved the food at Apurva, from the pepperoni pizza from the reef club, the club sandwiches we ordered from room service, and the wonderful breakfast from the Cliff Lounge. The option of having both buffet and also ala-carte options for breakfast is just pure genius. We didn't have much chance to dine at all the outlets and we were out on some days, but wished we did. We were also thrilled to able to the watch the world cup during our stay, and having stayed at another 5 star hotel days prior to coming to Apurva, we couldn't watch any of the matches in our room, and we were wondering...the biggest event in the world, 5 star resort, no world cup, like really? But Apurva was a godsend, not just one channel, nope...multiple world cup channels, all in full HD, might i add. So, only a small improvement, if any, would be the room service menu. On the current room service menu, there are like only 4 pizzas, and our fave pizza, the pepperoni wasn't on it. We did eat it at the Reef Club, so we just tried our luck one evening, and asked if they could send us one. Guess what? They did, and it was from the Reef Club! Top points for that, so i'm thinking, maybe for room service, some items from any of your other outlets can be made available, like in the case above. Apurva, thank you for having us, and we made the right decision to stay at your hotel. Our 3 nights stay was too short, we loved the time we spent in our private pool suite, we really didn't want to leave! Without a doubt, the best hotel and room we've stayed in Bali. We have stayed in some impressive properties in Bali, some more expensive than the Apurva, but none has come this close to perfection, until now. We will be looking forward to our next stay when we return to Bali in future, so we can recreate these wonderful memories again. …

Grand and magnificent hotel. Breathtaking views of the sea from the hotel which is perched on a cliff. Large swimming pool. Extensive international buffet breakfast spread Comfy and large rooms. Very nice marble and granite bathrooms, with rain shower and big bathtub. The resort is huge and the buggy service from my block to the lobby is quite efficient Had dinner at Bai Yun and the Pala rooftop and it was quite an experience The hotel is in a secluded and exclusive location. Have to take a taxi to get anywhere. Also, the beach fronting the hotel is not great at low tide because of a rock barrier.

You have blown us away ! Thank you . We went there for a wedding with several other families from overseas. I've been to many beautiful resorts around the world (including Bali). What stood out is not only the architecture nor the facilities (which are all VERY stunning), but it is your people and services. From the lady in Red, the gardener, the house keeping , the buggy drivers, the services staffs at the restaurants and many many others - I don't know all their names. Thank you for making this a very memorable trip (which coincided with our own 30th wedding anniversary by the way). We stayed at the Ocean Front Prestige Suite that has a roof top - - (Yes we got upgraded from the Ocean Front Junior suite :) But it is not about this upgrade, all of our relatives and families are deeply impressed with their stays. ** shout out to Jessica, our Lady in Red; and Stephanie (from Surabaya) who accompanied my Mom in law while checking in to their rooms. BTW.. we love the breakfast at the Cliff -- we would prefer this one over Pala , and the art lesson from one of the Art Shops! This is my second visit to this resort, first time was during its early stage where half the resort was still under construction, I have to say, I am blown away, this resort has come a long way over the years. As a luxury traveller myself, I can say with confidence the 5 star rating, limited by local gov, does not do it justice, this hotel is more in line with a 6 or 7 star hotel, easily the most luxurious hotel in Bali and one of the top in the world. If you’re after ultra luxury in Bali, this is the place. What I liked: - my Kempinski titanium membership was instantly recognised and received appropriate room upgrades - the rooms are excellent, in my case the prestige suite, finished in luxury with large private pool. Huge Bathroom and dressing area, perfect for family with kids. Love the robotic toilet seats! (Be careful of bathroom marble floor though it can get slippery!) - the lobby, and the hotel in general, is not your typical sterile luxury hotel, it’s designed with traditional Balinese architecture, of which the elements are reflected in every corner of the hotel, starting with the grand lobby combined with the ocean front, the temple stairs from the top to the bottom of the cliff, creating a mesmerising experience. - family friendly, I must emphasise this resort is extremely child friendly, those travelling with kids will find plenty to do, there is a dedicated children luxury playground and large indoor play room with a lot to offer. There is a kids pool and water slides, The staff across the entire hotel are also well trained to handle and interact with children. - lots of dining and bar options in the hotel, located at various you won’t need to leave. The Bali famous Koral under water restaurant is also located in the apurva resort. Breakfast buffet at Pala was decent with great variety, along with afternoon tea at cliff lounge. Those who enjoy a good late night smoke will find cigars and sheesha on the beach club menu - there is so much to do and explore here, you might not even need to leave the resort. Even though I stayed for 6 days I still haven’t covered everything - customer service was top notch, in line what I received in other luxury 7 star hotels, very impressed with how friendly and approachable everyone is, and any issues are immediately rectified and in some cases they went out of their way to resolve and apologise. House keeping was great and very clean job. Special thanks to the lady in red team who took care of everything Highly recommend this place, the Apurva team and the General Manager have done an outstanding job building up the resort to what it is now, they have created not just a world class hotel but a world class luxury destination joining other 6-7 star hotels on the world map. First time that we stayed at Kempinski hotels. Everything was at his best. The hotel placement is amazing, the rooms are huge and very clean. The food at this hotel is delicious (Koral is a must), the pools are great. I think the best thing about this hotel are the people who take care for everything you need.

The club level with private pool is amazing! The views are spectacular. The room is spacious and clean. The breakfast is phenomenal with so many choices.
