I've read some of the recent reviews stating that Poppies is expensive. I disagree. I've stayed at Poppies twice and I found it amazing value for for money. This is a beautiful representation of the real Bali. The gorgeous Balinese cottage set in a tropical oasis of a garden is inimitable. I've stayed at 5 star resorts, and whilst lovely,they...

Dear Pezztraveller, Thank you so much for spotting the fact that we try so hard to offer value for money, as well as all the other things. We hope that your health will be fine soon, and that we can welcome you back again. Poppies Samui is indeed going from strength to strength, and is a 'must visit'! When you're...

Indeed, this Hotel provides a cocoon os peace, tranquility and silence in the middle of Kuta. Rooms (cottages) are very comfortable, with open roof bathroom including a garden that just adds to the atmosphere. Swimming pool is stylish, and provides an excellent relaxing spot. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is a bit expensive for local standards, but specially if...

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Poppies. We do feel that Poppies is really not expensive, as we always try our best to provide the very best value for money, and have still not increased our rates in 4-5 years, and now include a magnificent breakfast, for example. It's more that the extreme competition has lowered rates...

Really nice to have the airport pick up with Denpasar Airport being quite intimidating. Rooms were nice as was the pool area. Staff were all excellent and all the reviews who say how peaceful it is for Kuta are spot on. Quite expensive though so maybe expected a bit more?

We're very grateful for your positive appraisals! We do our best to offer value for money, with a unique 'Poppies experience'. We are also constantly adding new little touches - in the rooms, and with our services. Our rates have actually not increased significantly in real terms for 7 or 8 years. However, as hotels have proliferated especially during the...

These cottages are absolutely beautiful...Nestled inside beautiful tropical gardens with a gorgeous pool, it's hard to believe how quiet it could be with noisy busy Kuta right outside the resort! The cottages themselves are very private with a huge sitting area outside where tea and fruit were served every morning. Our cottage was absolutely spotless..the bathroom is huge and bed...

This place is absolute paradise. First of all let me say that the staff are so friendly here and they will do anything to ensure your stay is comfortable. The best thing I liked about poppies wasn't just the beautiful secluded cottages perfect for a romantic getaway, it's wasn't the amazing breakfast you got delivered every morning outside your front...

Let me start with the downside first - Kuta is an awful place and to be avoided. Mopeds everywhere, more tourist traps that you can shake a stick at, and people trying to flog tourist tat left right and centre. We were pleased to only be there for 2 days en route to Gili T. Having said that, Poppies was...

We stayed here as a couple for 12 nights and cannot find fault. The accommodation is simple but charming, but with plenty of room and all necessary amenities. Apart from sleeping, we more or less lived on the small terrace with the fan cooling us down. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning very effective (we had it on...

After a week in the manufactured resort of Nusa Dua , arriving at Poppies was a delight. Walking in from the street felt like entering The Secret Garden. At last we felt as if we were actually in Bali. The cottages are built in true Balinese style and are totally relaxing with quiet rooms and a beautiful pool. The restaurant...

Kuta is nothing to write about unless you want to party and buy souvenirs, but this hotel is a quiet, beautiful oasis in the busy hustle and bustle. The rooms are traditional and the garden is stunning. We spent the morning at their beautiful pool and the breakfast was great. I highly recommend this place if you have to stay...

We first stayed in Kuta more than 25 years ago so have a lot of experience of different places to stay. Poppies is a real gem, which has come a long way from its backpacker roots. It isn't cheap, but is good-value, friendly and very well-run. The rooms are excellent, comfortable and very well furnished with a superb bathroom and...
