The Patra Bali Resort & Villas garners mixed feedback, with many guests enjoying its spacious and spotless accommodations, though some point out the need for modernization and address issues such as dampness. The hotel's cleanliness and well-kept gardens receive positive remarks, enhancing its lively atmosphere, which is further animated by live music and cultural events, although a few guests prefer a quieter environment. While opinions on value vary, the amenities, including the picturesque pools and beachfront, are often praised.
The service stands out for its friendly and professional staff, despite occasional delays. The location is favored for its tranquility and proximity to both the airport and the beach.

Detailed Reviews
I stayed at Patra hotel for 5 days, for business purposes, and it was very pleasant to stay here. The location of the hotel is directly adjacent to Kuta beach, so I can enjoy the beautiful sunset comfortably. This hotel cannot be called a modern hotel, but with the maintenance of buildings that have been carried out by operators, the hotel looks clean, grand and elegant

We have stayed here many times over the past years.
Our first visit was in 2016, it’s location is close to the airport and right on the beach.
The entrance is majestic and the staff are superb but in general the hotel requires much needed renovations.
One of the pool bar stools still doesn’t have a seat on it, this was missing back in 2016, there’s mould all over the spa jets which weren’t working and on a lot of the tiles around the edge, there’s was a pool light hanging out of the wall.
There was a speaker blasting out 4 tunes that were on repeat, distorted and not pleasant to listen to.
The rooms are nicely situated in the well maintained grounds and the room service was prompt, but the breakfast is hardly edible with poor choices, the egg station being the best one.
All in all I think there needs to be some money spent to bring this hotel back to its former glory,
Great staff, great location but looking tired.

After several years that we have not stayed at the Patra we decided to stay there again during Nyepi day as well a few days before and after. It is of course a great pity that there were only about 30 to 40 guests staying at the hotel as guests create the atmosphere. Most guests stayed there just waiting for a flight back home due to the corona virus. Nonetheless we enjoyed our stay and above all the big swimming pool where we were at times the only persons using it. Due to the low number of guests the breakfast buffet was replaced with a selection of a la carte options. Also for the evening dinner a relatively small a la carte offer was on provided. However it must be said, that the quality of all the food was very good. The extensive garden area was maintained very well and a pleasure to walk around. Unfortunately there was no direct access from the hotel to the beach due to a black netting all along the garden and the beach. In addition the netting did hamper the view to the beach and the sea. The honeymoon suite we were given was very well looked after by the housekeeping team members.
It would be unfair to evaluate the performance of the hotel under these circumstances, but my wife and I enjoyed our stay there and hope to return soon again, hopefully with more guests and thus a more holiday like atmosphere. We would like to thank the management and all the team members for their efforts to make our stay as pleasant as possible under these difficult circumstances.

We stayed at the Patra Bali for 3 nights in February 2020. Due to Coronavirus, the resort was extremely quiet. This resort is older but well maintained. A hotel staff was waiting for us at the airport to drive us to the resort. It’s less than 5 minutes from the airport to the resort. As a result, there is noise of planes taking off at the resort. Our room, the grounds, the public spaces, pools and restaurants were all very clean. The beach in front of the resort is not maintained so don’t plan on swimming in the ocean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was good and reasonably priced. Beautiful breakfast. I should note that we stayed one night at the Ritz-Carlton Bali and when we compare the Patra to the Ritz and factor in that the Ritz is more than 3 times the price we preferred the Patra. If we ever end up in Bali again we will definitely stay at the Patra.

After 7 days in Bali, Sanur we decided to spend our last night near to the airport, choosing the 5 star rated PATRA. We booked 3 Deluxe rooms. We arrived at the resort around 11:00 and were allowed to secure our luggage after which we went to the nearby beach (not very nice, pestered relentlessly by sellers). CheckIN time was 14:00. There was some initial delay due to administration issues but we finally got to our rooms by 14:30. The initial impression was that the rooms were overdue for refurbishment and looked very tired. There was no Welcome Pack. A safe was provided but no instructions how to lock it. The coffee/tea tray had no teaspoons. The KING size bed was made up of two singles. After reclining on the bed I got up and injured my toe on the bed base corner which protruded several centimetres beyond the mattress. After injuring my leg two more times, I requested the bed be converted to 2 singles, hoping that the single mattress would fit properly to the solid wood base. Returning to my room after a swim I went into the en-suite to soak my bathers, noticing that the wash basin was cracked in several places. I filled the basin and left my gear to soak. I attempted to operate the Holland Blind only to find one end had detached from the wall, nearly falling off. I contacted housekeeping to inform them of my issues. A little while later I visited my daughter in her room to find that her door did not automatically lock when exiting. Returning to my room, I waited for the housekeeper. While waiting I went into the en-suite to rinse my costume only to find myself standing in water. The basin had leaked and soaked the entire cupboard and floor. When the housekeeper arrived he decided my daughter, her 4 year old child and I be moved to alternate accommodation. Having spent valuable time awaiting action and attempting to communicate with staff, I went to the lobby to confront the manager and inform him of the experience. He was most apologetic and offered us an upgrade to Deluxe Suite but I explained that we were expecting our final night in Bali to reflect the 5 Star rating touted in Booking.com. He was fearful that we wanted to move to another resort but I allayed his fears and emphasised that we expected compensation for the stress, frustration and anxiety we had suffered. All he was prepared to do was offer us a free evening meal at the Resort Restaurant. I have gone to the trouble of reporting our experience in the hope that Management will take full responsibility.

Last March 2023, we booked a room in Patra Hotel & Resort nearby the airport for our December 2023 stopover from Australia to Europe.
When we arrived in the hotel, the receptionist (Tery) told us that the room will be on 2nd floor and location wise is quite far from the main building. We asked for a closer room & she said all fully booked, only Presidential suite available but it means we have to upgrade. After we looked at both rooms, and found our booked room is very old, we then decided to upgrade. But at night, we found out that there is a loud music coming from the restaurant, up to 11pm. Our 5 years twins could not sleep & was restless due to the loud music.
The next morning, after the room is cleaned, we found a letter informing that there will be a big event right in front of our room & there will be live music up to 11pm again. No wonder we saw lots of buffet & round tables, also a stage from our room. We paid for a PRESIDENTIAL SUITE yet we could only get a peaceful night after 11pm.
We complained to the morning receptionist (Widyasih) who handled this matter with an unfriendly face. She did offered us to move to another room but it means we had to do packing & unpacking again.
We are only fortunate that the non-receptionist staff are kind, & were trying to find solution, like Sugi (from F&B) & Wahyu (Housekeeping), who then helped us to move to a more quiet room so our twins toddlers can sleep.
But the room is downgraded yet we had paid for an upgraded. With all these bad experiences with the receptionist, my wife felt being ripped off. So we complained again, only then finally the receptionist are willing to refund the extra charge, which we dont know if they truly can refund as we used the debit card.
What we had here, firstly, was Tery not being honest from the beginning. We did ask for the room around Presidential suite, but Tery said all fully booked.. only then we found out that that room next to Presidential suite is not occupied. We dont appreciate dishonest people. She could just be honest saying about the room conditions rather then saying it is occupied.

The resort has great environment, outdoor pools, nice garden and beach walk tracks. When I booked I thought they have private beach areas but then when I arrived I just realized the beach seemed too dirty to walk on it. There’s a bicycle track next to the beach which compensates a bit.
The room was clean and big, only it’s not as what they showed in the booking app. Our rooms seem much older than what was showed on the website. The booking system for their room options seem a bit confusing as well. I booked a “two bedroom villa” then “one bedroom villa” then when we arrived the staff insisted we booked “3 separate rooms.” We went there during the Christmas holiday season so maybe they were not ready for the big crowds yet after the pandemic. Seem a bit short of manpower and booking system errors.

This was our second visit to the Patra. As Pertamina Villas it was one of the orginal top class vacation resorts. Though old it is well maintained and still has the amenities and the class. A true international resort with every nationality staying there. It has two restaurants, two bars, conference rooms, three pools, one, two and three bedroom villas, deluxe studio rooms and one bedroom suites. All are clean and spacious, have modern updated bathrooms, air conditioning, TV, tea and coffee making,a bar fridge and a room safe. It is right on the beach but a bit remote (15 minutes walk) from restaurants and shops. It is adjacent to the Airport and gives the advantage of a quick transit for those catching a plane. The hotel has a spa/health centre with a gym.

my wife and i spent 5 nights for our honeymoon. It was a very pleasant experience, the staff treated us in an incredible way, very warm, attentive and friendly. Since we arrived, I had messages from Mrs. Putu, who was always checking on us and making sure everything was perfect.
we stayed in the honeymoon villa with private pool and the room was immaculate with delicious daily amenities delivered to us in the afternoon. the view was incredible and my wife had the best photos for her Instagram.
putu made excellent recommendations for us to travel and arranged us with Mr. Jadra, a transportation service that was also amazing, very attentive and friendly.
the price was much lower than the experience we had, I would definitely recommend it.

It is was clean enough to look at but would think it would be better to go a few kilometres towards Kuta. But you won't get annoyed by sellers. Sorry we didn't really spend any time on the beach there are the pools were great.
There were Balinese musicians playing at breakfast and one night we had dinner at the hotel there was a band playing Balinese instruments - but Western music - in front of us on the poolside. As we were the only ones in the restaurant at that time we were also able to dance. No extra cost!
No private beach. Umbrellas are by the pool
