Ananda in the Himalayas is an exquisite luxury destination nestled amidst the serene beauty of Rishikesh, the land of spirituality and yoga, especially magical during the monsoon season when clouds seem to dance at ground level. This haven offers a perfect getaway for those seeking tranquility and rejuvenation while being surrounded by breathtaking views of the lush greenery and mist-covered mountains. The culinary experience at Ananda is nothing short of exceptional. The outstanding food offerings cater to diverse tastes and preferences, blending traditional Indian flavors with international cuisines. Each dish is carefully crafted with fresh and locally sourced ingredients, leaving a delightful explosion of flavors on your taste buds. One of the highlights of the stay at Ananda is the enlightening Vedanta classes. Led by experienced and knowledgeable instructors, these sessions delve into the profound wisdom of ancient Indian scriptures and philosophies. The teachings leave a lasting impression, encouraging self-reflection and a deeper understanding of life's purpose. The impeccable service provided by the resort's staff ensures that every guest's needs and desires are effortlessly taken care of. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the attention to detail throughout the stay, the staff's dedication makes you feel cherished and pampered, adding to the overall sense of comfort and bliss. The spa and wellness center at Ananda offers an array of rejuvenating therapies and massages that leave you feeling invigorated and refreshed. Trained therapists use time-honored techniques and natural ingredients to release tension and promote a sense of inner harmony and balance. The monsoon season, with its cool and misty ambiance, enhances the therapeutic experience, making it even more enchanting. From the private balcony of your luxurious suite, you can admire the breathtaking sight of the famous Laxman Jhoola, an iconic suspension bridge that spans the Ganges River. As the river flows below and the clouds gracefully hover around the bridge, you find yourself in awe of nature's beauty and the tranquility that surrounds you. In conclusion, Ananda in the Himalayas offers a heavenly escape during the monsoon season. It captivates your senses with outstanding food, enlightens your mind with Vedanta classes, indulges you with impeccable service, and revitalizes your body and soul with invigorating therapies. The view of Laxman Jhoola from your balcony becomes a symbol of the harmony between nature and human creations, making this luxury destination an unforgettable experience of serenity and self-discovery.

Ananda is one of the best spa I have been in the world (and I have tried quite many so far!). And of course, it is not only for the spa that you should go there. The location is amazing, so beautiful in the hills, middle of no where, so peaceful… The hotel is beautiful, no need to say that you have all the comfort you can desire, the bedding is fabulous also, bathroom is percer with shower and bath tube, with a wonderful view. The restaurant, serving healthy food of course, has a good choice and the best chocolate mousse I have ever tried! And so the spa is a wonder, specialised in Ayurvedic treatments of course, a very large choice is available, the therapists are very good with fabulous hands to heal you. Impossible not to leave feeling so much better than at your arrival. Some activities are also organised everyday, like yoga, meditation, walks, gym… It is a must try at least once in life if possible.

One should only come here for physical and mental rest, as Rishikesh is quite a drive away - and rest you will get! The scenery is peacefully beautiful. The spa treatments are probably the best on earth! Even ‘common’, traditional massages (like deep-tissue, Swedish, or Thai) are done better here! The four-hand Abhyanga massage is just out of this world! There are two daily talks by an expert from the Vedanta Academy, and a daily meditation session also conducted by an experienced practitioner. Service staff are friendly and pro-active. Any negative? The rooms are not Tokyo-hotel-size, but certainly not large. We will have been in India for 3 weeks at this point, so wanted to have non-Indian food; while very healthy, unfortunately it’s not very good. This would not prevent us from wishing to come back here, for a longer stay next time:

I’d had my eye on a trip to Ananda for quite a while. It didn’t disappoint. A wonderful setting high in the hills, fantastic staff, amazing treatments and food. The grounds are peaceful and restoring. If you have specific issues or want a holistic reboot, book on one of the comprehensive programmes. If you’d prefer to choose your own components then book the foundation programme or just room and meals only.

We stayed at Ananda for two days 20th and 21st February and it was a very different experience. On arrival, we were attended by Mr Saumya who was so gracious to attend us personally and show the entire place. This was very wonderful as we came to know about the precise history of place. This had huge impact on our first impression of the place. The place has beautiful golf grounds and is surrounded by very old trees. The restaurant has a beautiful sit out with tall trees and the staff is very well trained and attentive. They even sit to come at your eye level while talking to you.I would like to mention Mr Umesh and Suman who made an impact on us.The food is very healthy and tasty. The USP of the place is the Spa, with very well trained and meticulous staff. I would like to mention Ms Laxmi , who attended me and Mr Jyoti who was very gracious to my husband in Spa.The spa services leave an impact on you. We even attended the Vedanta lectures in morning and evening by MrJoseph. The hatha yoga in morning was good session especially in open hall which was provided with heaters. It is a place defined with wellness at its core and places stress on preventive part. Definitely one of its kind in India. Its strategic positioning in wellness with international standards makes it a unique place. Definitely worth a visit and make sure you avail the spa service.

This place is magical. I spent 3 weeks at the Ananda on a structured program and experienced the greatest sense of peace, calm, and rejuvenation. The property is stunning surrounded by gorgeous gardens, the staff thoughtful and caring, the spa services all top notch, and the food healthy and plentiful. Another highlight was the guided trekking in the foothills of the Himalayas. This is a very special place - highly recommended.
