Taking senior citizens on a trip to the hills could be a daunting experience. I had planned a long weekend trip to Mussourie with my mom and uncle , both senior citizens . In addition my uncle had special needs . But right from the time of booking till we left the hotel ,Padmini Nivas made us really comfortable . I cant really single out one particular person since each and every hotel employee went out of his way to be hospitable .Even when small glitches developed , like the telephone being out of order , it was repaired almost instantaneously.. We stayed in room 10 which had a lovely view of the sun kissed mountains. Padmini Nivas is a beautifully maintained heritage property with well maintained rooms and nice sit outs. The rooms have a feel of the bygone era with high ceilings , vintage lights and furnishings. Even the bathroom has a great view ! I loved the garden with its blooming hyacinths, winter jasmine and tulips.
The hotel also boasts of a delectable vegetarian cuisine ,especially Gujarati . The Aloo poha, parathas and gujarathi thali were excellent . My only grouse was that they did not include breakfast as part of the deal.
I would definitely recommend this place as a must visit.

“Relax & Rejuvenate” is the word which aptly befits the unmatched scenic beauty of the queens of hill from “The Padmini Niwas”.

Its an almost every year tradition of me and my family to pay a visit at this most surreal location at Mussoorie. This place is equipped with the best of service and hospitality coupled with economical deals with the top-tier fresh food providing a best getaway with a perfect homely vibe.

They have the cutest installation of swings, home pet dog name “Moti” and sit out furniture to fully enjoy the beauty of “City of Stars”, they provide timely service of room heaters with flexible payment mode through their prompt and lightening speed action.

Highly recommend near travel aspirants to stay at this supremely scenic site. Looking forward to many many more happy stays with Hotel Padmini.

Pros:
Hotel Padmini Nivas is located conveniently just touching the popular Mall road. We thought of It as a far better place to stay compared to the other commercial hotels that line up along Mall road as it has, albeit, an old garden all around it. The rooms are clean, with some having a great view of the doon valley, and the staff is attentive. The hotel has a unique vibe and for once did not feel like a monotonous place to stay.

Cons:
One of the major cons is the half constructed approach road to the hotel when you reach Mussoorie. It is probably a temporary situation, but was a difficult climb to the hotel as soon as one reaches. However the hotel staff is very kind and sincerely helpful with carrying the luggage so the burden of climbing is just the extreme cardio one gets from climbing up. We thought the food at the hotel restaurant was a little expensive but is a good option if you don't feel like getting out of the room. We would usually eat at Upahar Vegetarian restaurant a 10 minutes walk away on mall road. There was a set back with the upkeep of some of the garden areas due to the pandemic but I hope that has changed now.

All in all, the hotel has character and is an interesting place to stay at. The hotel staff right from the managers to the rest of helpers, are very kind and good to the guests. I would definitely recommend others to stay here if they are not fussed about excessive luxury.

This hotel is located at a height. There are two ways to access the hotel. We happened to access it from the side where we had to climb up a short winding path after parking the car at mid place. It was quite dark and freezing cold. We were exhausted after reaching the place at the end of a 7 hour journey.

The hotel is a heritage one. Its not fancy. Its certainly not a starry hotel. But the rooms are comfortable. The heritage wing is huge with large rooms. But in the winter, its not a good idea to take these rooms as the ceiling is about 30 feet high and the rooms get extremely cold. Also, they dont have any view. The rooms that we stayed in were non heritage rooms. They were decent. The view from the verandah outside the rooms was exquisite. The small garden outside is nice and ideal to have a cup of tea in the cold winter.

The restaurant is very small and comfortable. The food is good. In particular, the stuffed parathas for breakfast are a winner.

Each member of the staff does expect tips when you depart.

Except for sleep and eat and maybe a bit of sunbathing in the mornings, there is nothing else that you can do at the hotel. There are no sports activities.

The hotel needs a lot of attention as its an old property. The heaters in the rooms need to be replaced immediately with bigger and better ones.

If you are a dog lover, they have a huge pet dog.

Location wise, its very near the Mall which is the central shopping area.

After reading all the good reviews on trip advisor we recently went ahead to book this hotel for a recent stay action.
on arrival the staff was warm and quiet welcoming, the hotel has this unique heritage and old school vibes
We had booked deluxe rooms and were allocated one after check in. The room was cozy and homely but there was no basic sanitization followed, we could notice dust on the landline on furniture and dirty linen all around.
the bathroom had been littered with dead flies.
On our complaints they upgraded us to deluxe suites with additional cost, initially we liked the room but the bathroom and the room had this foul smell which was quiet annoying
same level on sanitization was followed, the towels were so dirty and had marks I couldn't believe we are in a hotel or guest house.
There was not even a single mirror which had clear glass.

Sadly by the end of it I realized how this heritage property is spoiled by bad maintenance. Its a lovely place but requires alot of maintenance and cleanliness

Thank you for taking the time to write your review, and for noting positive aspects like heritage atmosphere and courteous service. We acknowledge your complaints, and are definitely paying attention to improving in these areas. As the hotel is spread out over a large area with old-style construction, it is comparatively difficult to maintain it at ideal levels. However, we agree that there is no excuse for dirty and smelly bathrooms, or lack of sanitation. We assure you that you will see improvement in these areas if you visit again. As for your upgrade to a suite, it was an error by the staff at the front desk to charge you extra for the same. It is not the hotel's policy to charge for upgrades initiated by us, and we deeply regret that you had to pay extra for a justified change of room. Hope to see you back at Padimini Nivas.

I have been visiting Mussoorie every alternate year to this hotel for a relaxing time with family away from busy NCR. This hotel gives that relaxation and ambiance of home away from home. Being a heritage property, expect a happy stay and not a lavish stay. Staff is courteous and menu is all you want in a vegetarian food, you will get fresh. Ample space to sit and relax in open garden areas during a cold sunny day. Will definitely come back again...soon :)

I first stayed at this outstanding boutique hotel in November 2020. The moment I checked in, I had a feeling of being a part of this property as more than a hotel. The ease, the class, the comfort, the aesthetics and the quintessential colonial feel captivated me like no other hill station property could do. The best thing is it's best at its original essence. Thoughtfully maintained with least plastic invasions. As avid travellers & riders we have stayed in numerous properties. But, this one is home. Came April, and we are here again. Food, hygiene, service and the ambience is unmatched bliss. Right in the heart of Mall, this place offers the neatest views of the Doon valley and the most tranquil setting.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this heritage resort overlooking the valley. Rooms were neat and clean and all amenities needed were well provided for. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was served steaming hot and freshly made. Also the resort has beautiful plants all around adding to its beauty.Another attraction is that this resort is centrally located. For us it was like home away from home and we will definitely like to visit this beautiful resort again.

I felt like I was in home. The staffs were cordial specially Jai Singh ji..Food, hygiene, service were top notch...I was blown away by the cleanliness and the owners taking care of small things...Right in the heart of Mall, this place offers the neatest views of the Doon valley. This property is one of the best in Mussoorie, Library end side.
After a long travel day, we reached Mussoorie late in the evening, but the entire check in process was so smooth and seamless, thanks to Ankush.

A special mention to Jaisingh ji, who looked after us so well through out our stay. He was always courteous and polite and ensured all our special requests were well taken care of.

The property itself is so pretty and well done with pretty flowers blooming everywhere. Seeing Moti (their awesome dog) lazing about in the warm winter sun was a pleasurable sight.
Due to an unforeseen event, Ankush even upgraded our room to the cottage room which has the best views!
The food, specially the hot parathas and chai, is really good. We had all our breakfasts and dinners in the inhouse hotel itself.

Would like to thank Ankush, Jaisingh ji, and the team for giving us a relaxed vacation, and will definitely stay with them on our next trip as well
