There aren't many properties in Landour, and La Villa is amongst the top two options. La Villa is not a hotel; it's more like a beautiful home with very welcoming hosts. The property has been made by renovating a 100+ years old cottage; keep your expectations accordingly (in case you were hoping for swanky hotel buildings). Positives: - Very welcoming, homely environment. You will feel like you're staying in a big family with the hosts and other guests. - They called us beforehand to know our food preferences. I thought that was very thoughtful. - You sit with the hosts and other residents at the dinner table. I personally liked that. - The food is homecooked and super delicious. - Overall, the property is very peaceful and calm. You get decent views of the valley. - They have a couple of dogs on site. - ALL the good points in Landour (Church, Prakash, Lal Tibba, Chaar Dukaan, etc) are within a walking distance. One thing to note: there is a steep climb down from the main road to the property. Although they do have a cart to transport luggage (and possibly people who can't walk), there will be some climbing up and down involved to the rooms. So, you might want to reconsider if you have knee troubles. Note: The parking is not at the site but next to Chaar Dukaan (5 minutes of walk). Drop your luggage by the property and go back to the parking. The property has its own charm and is definitely recommended. You'll go once, you'll go again. The name suggests a home for healing and it more than lives up to it.The crisp mountain air, breathtaking views of the valley, wonderful location, the well kept rooms, the warm hospitality and delicious food all make you slow down your pace and you reach a zen like calm state of mind. We are so glad we chose LVB to celebrate a milestone birthday as they left no stone unturned to make it extra special. The decadent Lebanese spread on the thoughtfully decorated table with rhododendrons and candles and inclusion of a last minute request to make a middle eastern drink- all done effortlessly with a smile. After a generous breakfast we would spend the day lazing, chatting, walking, exploring Landour, drinking and eagerly waiting for the highlight of the day which would be the dinners organised by Sunita.Every evening a different cuisine from a region of our country or the world. We were amazed at the repertoire and authenticity of the dishes! Sunita and Amarjeet have years of hospitality experience between them and it shows. They understand what their guests want and deliver it so well.We were 12 so had almost the entire place to ourselves including our own conservatory, lounge, and balcony to chill in.All the suites/rooms are unique and have their own charm. We are so lucky to have found and experienced this home away from home and can't wait to come back again!…
Our friend took us to LVB for his 60 th birthday. This place is simply outstanding, beautiful unpretentious and personalised service from entry to a warm hug when we left. We stayed in a lovely room having one of the best views of the valley and mountains ahead. Besides the breathtaking views, the warmth of Sunita and her husband Amarjeet was a wonderful touch. Sunita is a world class hostess and an amazing cook. Amarjeet is worldly wise and his tales from his travels were autobiography worthy. Did I mention the food? Sunita cooked and supervised every breakfast and dinner personally. I cannot begin to describe the quality and variety of food served. One day Lebanese , next dinner food from the tandoor, Bengali , Kashmiri once Maharashtrian. All amazing in taste and authenticity. All 12 of us loved the stay thoroughly. I recommend a call to either of them to understand what room is available and choose as per your taste and budget. They encourage single female travellers and assure complete safety. They do screen guests discreetly before doing a booking. Do call and visit in a group or single. Lakshmi and Shivram…
We were looking for a quick getaway from delhi to feel the cool breeze of the hills and Landour was a perfect choice. The weather was great and we chose to stay at La Villa Bethany and our vacation couldn’t have been better. The hosts Amarjeet and Sunita are so hospitable and warm. The food is to die for. Each day a new state cuisine. Highly recommended!!

After 2 years of pandemic break we were eagerly waiting to get out of the city commotion. A friend had visited few years back and had highly recommended a visit to La villa Bethany and finally we planned. It's a beautiful cozy home away in mountains. Sunita and Amarjeet are extremely professional at the same time very kind hosts who made us feel at home. Sunita is a gourmet cook who served us delicious food. And Amarjeet is the one who had quite engaging stories about the Villa and Landore and many more other places/people☺️ The Villa is beautiful property spread over around an acre. We were in the log room which is on the top and had a homely decor. It was altogether a different experience giving unforgettable and lasting impression of landore. Thank you Amarjeet and Sunita for all your efforts and hospitality.…
I have stayed at La Villa Bethany, four times over the last few years and I will be going back again and again. Tucked away in the quaint town of Landour, La Villa Bethany is comfortable, clean and with all the amenities you would require. The rooms have an old world charm about them and are extremely cosy. Run by the wonderful Sunita and Amarjeet, La Villa Bethany is almost like being at home - breakfast and dinner is had at a long table where I’ve made some lovely friends over my visits. The food is yummy - one day Bengali, the other local garhwali etc. Sunita has most meals with you and she and Amarjeet will regale you with great stories and anecdotes about the area. The property is also very well located - the Landour bakehouse walking distance at one end and Char Dukaan and Emilys restaurant walking at the other. Also the quiet walks among deodar trees, that is the USP of Landour, is all around La Villa Bethany. I will be returning here soon and feel that I have found a home in the Himalayas.…

What deserves a special mention is the amazing food that she dishes out...They also have a well stocked library and you could spend your day curled with a book and soak in the enchanting views..the staff is very friendly and prompt too.. would love to visit again...all in all, a perfect getaway from the city life..
This review comes a month late but the memories are as afresh as ever. We visited "La Villa Bethany" in Feb to celebrate my husband's birthday and no words can express how calming the whole trip was. Away from our hectic work-lives, we truly managed to slow down but our biggest takeaway would be the people we met and the conversations we had! Every dinner time would be like an extended family time, where conversations would flow well into the night. Sunita & Amarjit are wonderful hosts and a special mention to Rashmi & Sujoy who were fellow travelers like us but became family! This place is a must visit if you want to "experience" Landour and not just visit. The plethora of stories you would have accumulated to share back home is an added bonus. Trust me on this!
La Villa Bethany provided me much needed mental peace and relaxation I was looking for, even though I was travelling with friends. It’s a home away from home in lap of nature and tranquility. A convenient escape from city noise, LVB gave much needed "Me Time" while providing all the comforts I could ask for and amazing home food. As you enter LVB, you are welcomed by cuddliest doggos Pongo, Perdy and Pepper (since am a dog lover that took away my travel stress from Bangalore instantly 😊). The ever-smiling staff and cutie Puneet (who I think might be 7 or 8) welcomed us with local drink and impeccable English. LVB has rooms to suite different kinds of travelers and each room has its own identity, which is different from another. Place gives the feel of a countryside cottage with amenities that we look in star hotels. The warm atmosphere of cozy rooms oozes out the history and passion with which they have been created. Amarjeet has stocked the library extremely well and it’s a place to go with your books, soak yourself in sun, feel cool breeze on your face and just absorb self in some reading. Sunita curated dinners so well and made us eat like pigs since she felt we were burning our calories doing all those walks to Char Dukaan and local market nearby. Food was delicious with sumptuous spread and had a different state theme each day. They use local produce and promote businesses from the region, recycle products and you can see sustainability in action at LVB. Must say Sunita and Amarjeet are great hosts and I had amazing time staying at LVB. The experience was fabulous and am looking forward to visiting yet again very soon to experience a different season.…
