Dear Hospitality TEAM @ RC, I would like to share my most pathetic and terrible experience of my stay at your resort Much distinctive and luxurious resort at the lap of nature ,In doon foothills etc etc ,as you define it in your social marketing and online booking platforms. But it nowhere lived upto my and my family expectations,We are local resident of doon and planned to visit Mussoorie first and some how dropped the idea due to traffic congestion there and headed straightaway to RC's. Now coming to the series of mishappenings occurred:- a) The cottage (amazon) which was given to us ,the TV was not recharged with channels ,after constant reminders and calls the TV was recharged and screen was there to give something lively to the desolate room. Why the room is not checked before giving it to the guest for the stay? b) About 9:15 pm evening ,we were watching tv and my kid was sleeping ,suddenly the lightning struck near the ceiling fan and it halted, after 5 seconds it was a terrible huge spark we rush towards the door in dark ,as the bulbs got fused ,due to electricity overload. I kept my wife and kid outside the room, and tried to connect somebody in reception, but no body picked phone.I ran towards security gate and told the guard about panic happened, they rushed in emergency and evacuated our stuff(luggage) from room and it was finally discovered by one of them that it happened due to continuous running of blower. I want to ask why the person who checked in us did not told us that blowers are not heavy duty one and you need to switch it off at regular intervals. So the safety and security concern here arises,Later we were shifted to Siene(Another Cottage Low Category one from amazon) ,Instead of upgrading us making us secure and comfortable we were thrashed to low Category accommodation and truly saying, they were pretending that nothing has happened and treated it common day to day affair. They seriously dont empathise that this incident would have cost ourselves lives. We were told all cottages are occupied and except siene nothing is available.M e and my family members had a restless sleep that night as my weekend turned into nightmare. 3)Next morning we wake up early and rushed to lantern for breakfast,The moment we entered at 8 am,we hardly find any body in restaurant, after 3 ,4 min a guy came,we ask him is the breakfast ready? ,he told Sir let me check with chef,he came back and told that Sir it will take 15 min ,we said ok,we asked for juice and shakes option,he told that juice he has cranberry and orange ,we asked milkshake options,To my surprise the way he responded nodding his head in attitude"Uska toh charge katega",I was really shocked to see his way of replying to guest, even there are another courteous methods of saying no or denial. Then Main course he gave option of poori bhaji ,paratha, omlette and toast and nothing else. But we were having cp plan ,so definately deserve to have a breakfast buffet with poha, sambhar, dosa, medu vada, idly, baked beans, sausages etc and cut fruit as well. The things which he told as main course option,we could simply reached our home in 45 min, prepare it and eat it,then there would be no breakfast inclusion required.Even if you are not putting breakfast buffet, you are required to show TDH menu to your guests,so that guest should know what are breakfast items in menu today. Alright ,Coming back to point ,we asked orange juice canned ,but the guy returned with cranberry juice on our table.I dont know what to say to him,we requested him politely to replace juice with orange one. After that we ordered him omelette toast for me ,poori bhaji for wife and kid(vegetarian),he after 10 min got toast and omelette for me ,but my wife and kid were gazing my mouth as they were waiting for poori bhaji,as Food and Beverage standards you need to serve Kids and Ladies first,She ordered coffee for her in mean time ,But that Coffee machine was not even ON by that person,I had eaten omelette without toast and my wife and kids had just toast with butter. We already told service guy that we are rushing and will be leaving in 20 min,plz make fast,But he was really slacking and slow ,as there was not a single table around from 8:00 to 8:30 am,if would have willingness to serve he would have concentrated the attention on our table,Neither wife and kid have breakfast except juice

Booked this for my parents for 3 days, and they were elated by the place, hospitality, ambience and location. A little outside the main Dehradun city and off the road, reaching the place might scare you, but once you step inside , it's a perfect not too pricey resort for stay. Choose River Cottages if you can, the scenery , sound and view of river flowing by is beautiful.

A stunning setting on the banks of the rivulet just outside the busy city of Dehradun. Perfect getaway for the locals as well as travelers from neighboring cities of Delhi etc. As soon as you enter the space you will instantly see the love and care that has been put into this small 15 room setup. Manicured lawns, beautiful flowering trees, sound of the flowing river in the back ground. Top that with good food, a chilled beers, a glass of wine in the winter sun sets the perfect backdrop for a weekend holiday. Here's where it goes wrong with a 5000 price tag you expect the sun and moon from a little set up like this. The breakfast service pathetic, it just was. On our first night they had a birthday celebrations event that pretty much hijacked the entire property, which was a damper for the house guest. Day 2, the place caters for the day visit/ hang out/ chill out/ brunch setting for the locals from Dehradun. Which is good for business, but not so great for the house guest. Like I mentioned earlier its a small space, and at any point of time there are 10 - 25 people right outside your room (10ft away from you) So I would love to head back, but would avoid weekend and peak vacation time.

We were there for 2 nights. A small property in a nice location. It is slightly away from the city. Ideal for people who would like to take rest and relax. Not suitable for people who plan to stay there and to go around sight-seeing. Their restaurant opens only at 9 am and the spread in breakfast is very limited. Staff are very courteous.
