The Glenville Forest Resort and Spa story starts with a city known as Dehradun, the Smaller, Greener, less crowded and somewhat laid-back, easy-going; fond of gossip, but tolerant of human foibles. a city where you could walk almost anywhere, at any time of the year, night or day. The building of the Glenville Resort is new but when you come here, you will find the same old Dehradun.

Detailed Reviews
We ( group of 5 school friends) visited the Glenville forest resort and spa this Sunday for a night spend. Our bookings were made through Agoda and we received a confirmation mail from the same. We also called for a confirmation and we’re told to expect a callback. On arrival the manager told us that they have not received any confirmation from agoda and we had not even called for confirming. The rooms were allotted to us finally after providing proofs. The numbers available on the net are not that of the reception and are answered by people who are clueless. The property is beautiful in itself and a break from the not so pleasant surroundings. The drive is through the busy markets but once you reach the property, you are completely disconnected from the outside. The name is slightly misleading since we booked reading that they have a spa but we were told later that the sa has been shut down.
The rooms are well maintained, spacious and have a soothing ambience. The cottages are beautiful. Some basic things that we missed in the rooms were the mini fridge ( considering the fact that there serving time is very limited) and a full length mirror ( the place is popular for weddings). The outdoors are well maintained with a nice and prim garden and outdoor seating. The pool area has three pools of different depths but they looked abandoned. We requested them to clean the kids pool to be able to sit ther for a while.
Coming to the food, we ordered an Indian meal along with some noodles. The Indian preparation were quite nice though they take very long to serve. We did not like the noodles and so decided to stick to only Indian for the future meals. We ordered the chicken changezi and soya champ masala along with vegetable raita, garlic naan , mirchi paranthas and butter naan. The parantha were slightly undercooked. The dal makhni, paneer butter masala, tandoori chicken, paneer tikka, hara Bhara kebab and honey chilli potatoes we ordered for snacks and dinner were all good. Breakfast was disappointing. The stuffed paranthas were like tandoori paranthas with a garnish of boiled potatoes. Also that they don’t start serving before nine o clock and also close down too early. The staff asked us to have our food early because they sleep by 10 which was a put off since we wanted to hang around longer.
Do not expect any room service. The staff is very casual. The restaurant does not have a very pleasing ambience and most of the time we came here, the staff was found lazing on the sofas with the phones. Also they do not believe in clearing tables once the guests have finished eating. Ram, the one person is a new staff was seen running around for everything. He tried to make the stay as comfortable as possible for us. All in all, property is being wasted due to inefficient staff.

+1
Let me begin from beginning. I was looking for a resort near Dehradun for a weekend to have a relaxing time. While I liked pictures of Glenville few reviews which were negative on service put me in doubt. However, when I spoke to their GM Karan, he assured me best service and let me tell you he kept his word. They suggested that if we want 4 rooms and family time, we take two suites and two executive rooms such that entire first floor and lobby area and balcony will be ours.
I have been to many five stars and let me tell, this was one of the best experience I have had and our family enjoyed so much. As far as service is concerned it was as if we were their personal guests. Rohit was too good and we could feel the warmth.
For future traveller's - we need to know what we want else there could be mismatch of expectations. This is not a traditional five star hotel with hundreds of rooms and processes and running kitchen. This is a boutique luxury farmhouse/bungalow with 12 rooms like one sees in movies. The greenery, views of mountain, land scaped gardens are exquisite and out of the world. So comparing with 5 star is like comparing apples with oranges. Both are fruits but their taste is just different. I would any day prefer Glenville. Like staying in one's own farm house with personal butler. So they mentioned that since they are boutique property we need to tell them 1 hour in advance when we need meals and they has limited options - we were absolutely fine with it as food was yummy and fresh and Rohit served us with lot of warmth. Karan got the staff to fill air in our swimming pool ball to play too which was beyond their duty. We could use pool to ourselves (so a pleasant experience and safe after two years if covid). Kids enjoyed kids pool too and so did table tennis, pool table and carom and cycling which unlike some resorts were complimentary. Rooms were quote nice too with all 5 star amenities like quality of mattress, a big big TV and an effective a/c. Yes, showers of bathroom were not working (though I had asked Glenville to check before we come). This didn't bother us as everything else was so nice and we got to spend quality time, walks in their gardens, good food, pool etc.
I hope Glenville keeps its hospitality and warmth while improving on best practices. Thank you Karan, Rohit and Glenville.

The place has a beautiful garden but there is only one word for rest of the courtesy and service they provide….it’s pathetic. I can’t dream of visiting this place ever again in my life. Probably the owners have got arrogance of owning a beautiful property to such an extent that they have forgotten that people come here for spending time with family and not tolerating their ego of richness. There are millions of rich people but they are humble, unlike the people at this property. One advice folks, refrain from staying at this place, save your self respect and chose a better place where someone is willing to welcome you with a smile.

Stayed here for the new year with a family group. The location is good outside the city with lot of greenery surrounding it. The property is fairly large with almost eighty percent open spaces. It is well maintained with lots of greenery. The rooms are large with all the modern amenities. The food and staff behaviour is good. I definitely enjoyed my stay.

It is located at a very good location having good view of hills and
you don't have to go through from rush area of dehradun and one more thing I liked the most is the service given by Staff Name Krishna he is too humble and he did things very quickly whatever I told him.

Came here to celebrate New Years Eve.. Pretty place but the staff and the owner are pathetic. Horrible service. Should shut down the place. Staff, manager and owner have so much attitude that they made the stay very unpleasant for us. PLEASE DO NOT VISIT AT ALL!

If you are in a group and want complete privacy then may be, keeping aside their poor food service, this may be the place.
The kitchen is at a distance from the restaurant and thus the uncovered food that comes, gets cold. Note : food is not allowed in the rooms. Also note, if you are hungry then keep your tummy waiting further for another 45 mins since that's the minimum service time taken. The food rates are expensive, no swiggy or Zomato works, so be ready to shell out more money for cold food.
The property is located cutting you off the hustle bustle of the city, but once at the resort, you do not know how to enjoy the property. The dangerous length and depth of the pool, makes it quite unsafe and also it is at a distance from resort. So, once you are in the pool area, you feel more isolated.
Spa is available at request. Spa person is not even there at the property. So, if you may like to have a spa as the name of the resort sweetly mentions, make your request well in two three hours advance.
Staff is untrained and they need to learn the hospitality business.
Overall, not a value for money. The word spa should be removed from the isolated resort.

Glenville is a spectacular property amidst nature and tranquility. I visited it with a group of friends and we loved the thrill it has being surrounded by a forest. It has beautiful lawns, gazebo, pool side etc areas where one can relax or plan activities. We had a perfect weekend getaway here where we enjoyed the spa, good meals, games and our evenings breathing the purest air. People wanting to have fun time with friends/family or the ones looking for a serene and quiet atmosphere, this place can cater to you all.
P.S Their cottages are a must to experience, guys 😍
