This is a beautiful hotel right on the river Ganges in the very heart of Varanasi. Nearly everything you need to see is around you as the Ganges is teaming with life.

The heritage hotel is very well run with very polite and helpful staff. The restaurant has a good range of food and is very nice.

The building has been beautifully restored to create an atmospheric and relaxing environment. Arriving at the hotel by boat on the Ganges is extraordinary and the hotel offers their own boat to go to the aarti ceremony included in your stay.
We highly recommend staying here.

A beautiful heritage hotel by darbhanga raja surrounded by wonderful staff in a great location ganges bank.We stayed for one night in burj room also called tower room which has the most excellent 180 degree view to river ganga. We saw ganga aarti in evening which is 5 min walk from hotel.
The Price is little on higher side especially for ganges view rooms,so we contacted one of brijrama manager team Mr Ashok(9910092886) who gave us a a decent price but still higher according to indian hotel prices. The food was very tasty, hygienic and were served in royal thali. We have beautiful pictures and memories from brijrama on our anniversary day. Liquors are not served but we can get our own.

Less than two weeks ago I stayed at the BrijRama palace in Varanasi with my parents and sister. We were visiting to mark my parents golden anniversary and also fulfill a longtime wish of my parents to visit this holy place. From the very start of our trip at the airport where we were picked up till the end, drop of at the airport, we enjoyed beautiful clean surroundings, exceptional service with all of our special requests being fulfilled expeditiously in a luxurious relaxing environment. The housekeeping and restaurant staff also organized a special celebration for my parents anniversary which was a pleasant surprise! Our stay was memorable and many thanks to the BrijRama staff for the care and attention they showed. My parents both 80 and 70 yr olds had a wonderful time with no issues. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to come back here!

Varanasi is the holiest city for Hindus in India. This fact alone means it has to be on your itinerary if you are touring India. The Brijrama Palace is the place to stay.
It is located on the ghats and surrounded by small streets and alleys. It is at the heart of the city which means the only way to arrive and leave is via boat on the Ganges. It is about 20 minutes from the drop off point to the steps of the Brijrama Palace and an incredible experience to start your stay. The views on the Ganges are spectacular as local people go about their everyday lives. Colour abounds everywhere.
The building was a former palace and is appropriately impressive. The steps to the entrance lift are steep and reception is a short lift ride away. The reception area has a luxurious feel with high quality decoration and seating. Our check in started in the reception area and was finished in our room. There are one or two low doorways to be aware of.
We had specifically booked the Varuna Bhuj Room - it is on a high floor and has an incredible 180' view up and down the Ganges. We booked about a year in advance to get this room but I do not know how the price differed to other rooms. A visit to Varanasi is all about the experience and this room made it all the more memorable. The Ganges provides the life for the city and to experience that round the clock is something I will never forget.
It is a very private room on the second floor. There are no adjoining rooms and you walk through a rarely used drinks "patio" to get to your door. The room was a reasonable size, with a good comfortable bed, comfortable chairs and good bathroom. It had high quality furniture and fittings with excellent decoration. The 'suite' element into the turret that gave the view exceeded our expectations. The list of complimentary inclusions was endless.
The Brijrama is alcohol free and caters only for vegetarian food. We ate dinner and breakfast on both nights we stayed. The food and service are excellent.
The service and attention to detail by all staff in the hotel is outstanding - we were certainly made to feel very welcome and important guests. I have no hesitation in recommending the Bhijrama Palace and if I return to Varanasi I will stay there again and hope I am fortunate enough to book the Varuna Bhuj Room.

Stayed at Brijrama palace along with a friend, right from the pickup at Rajghat the whole experience this felt special. While on the boat ride to the hotel, the hotel staff explained the history and folklore behind the various ghats, the check-in happened inside the room and was super smooth. The hotel staff was friendly, courteous, friendly and always ready to help. The boat ride we took for the aarti at the ghats was well serviced. The hotel also helped arrange for a holy dip at the ghat, the hotel is situated right on the ghats and the hotel staff ensured that we took care and did not slip on the ghats, also offered us towel as we came back after the dip. The ghat was well maintained and much cleaner than other ghats nearby. We found the hotel staff spot on, all the time. They were able to anticipate and understand our needs and recommended some of the best food places, they almost knew we wanted to try out local food. The palace has opulent interiors, clean rooms, bottom line I am sure that this hotel is offering superlative stay experiences in the whole of baneras.

I highly recommend this place for your next visit to Varanasi and me myself will surely visit again as well.

We hosted our Son's wedding in the beautiful palace, spanning 2 nights and 3 days.

The hotel is situated at the bank of Ganges, they sent a boat to pick up us from Assi ghat with excellently trained staff. The luggage was sanitized by the bellboy before picking up from our vehicle and as well as on the reaching at the hotel.

As the hotel is restored by them so we wanted to have around it's very well done heritage property, rooms are very good the manager was very courteous. After the round vegetarian food was served which was excellent. It was a great experience I will highly recommend the place to stay or just to go for. If someone wants to stay on the ghat it is the right place you can enjoy the view of the river from the room or the terrace.

It was a great experience to dine at Brijrama Palace, we had booked our table for 8 on phone. The hotel is situated on the banks of Ganges, and they sent a boat to pick up us from Assi ghat. Soon after starting we were offered hand sanitizer, wet wipes and mineral water followed by a traditional Benarasi thandai, upon reaching the hotel again a refreshing watermelon mojito was served. As the hotel is quite famous and iconic, we wanted to have a show around and the management was accommodating and arranged for a detailed show around of the property for us. The heritage property is restored very well, property round was very informative and the manager was very courteous.

After the show around we sat for eating and delicious vegetarian food at Darbhanga restaurant, the restaurant has an enchanting ambience with the magnificent views of river Ganges, the menu is versatile and a number of rare vegetarian dishes make up for the fact that they do not serve non-vegetarian food and alcohol. I would highly recommend the palace for stays and fine dining. I believe they do not take tables upon walk-in and it is best to book your table in advance. They also have a nice private dining setup on the terrace and the next time I would be trying out terrace dining for sure.

There aren’t many high-end hotels in Varanasi and while we weren’t sure BrijRama Palace would be worth it when viewing the photos online — it turned out to be the highlight of our trip in India. Worth every penny. It’s a real palace and the quaint charm is remarkably restored at BrijRama. The location on the Ganges River was priceless — with complimentary tea service on the rooftop terrace, boat ride to the evening religious ceremonies on the river, and dance performance before dinner — making for an unforgettable evening itinerary unlike anything else we’ve experienced. The Ganges River is truly beautiful, although smelly of fumes and pollution like anywhere else in India. Watching people bathe in the “holy water” from the palace footsteps or the rooftop is a big draw to this hotel. Rooms were clean and the spa was exceptional, particularly the steam showers and the snacks at the end. People complained that this hotel, while lovely, is not of five star luxury quality. I would not disagree with this, but this is something else and is more magical than most clean and new five star luxury resorts we have stayed at.

The restaurant with tasting menu needs some improvements though. Very slow service and mediocre food.

The best thing about this place is their Pranaam, each time their staffs see you they do this gesture with a broad smile on their face, makes you feel that you are a Maharaja, I stayed there for 2 nights and it was a great stay. I arrived at Assi Ghat in the afternoon, the bellboy and boat man helped me in carrying my bags, offered me the Umbrella because it was a sunny day, sanitized the bags and offered me the thandai then we had a boat ride for 20 minutes. The palace looks great from outside and they told me that it took them 18 years to renovate it, I was surprised. Hey have done a great job in maintaining this great Heritage property. They offered me the herbal water as welcome drink as soon as I arrived and it was so refreshing.
Hi-tea was great, had a great dinner, services are top class.

Keep Going 🙏

Stayed at Brijrama palace for a couple of nights with family, was overwhelmed at the location with ghat and mesmerising view of Ganges. The staff starting from the chauffeur to the chef everyone was courteous and taken the good care. The palace services was aware of our preference of food, rooms and our purpose of travelling before the arrival, I haven’t seen such attention to details.

All elements put together our experience was overwhelming. From organising the walks to the temple visit, the Mangala aarti at the Vishwanath temple.

I highly recommend the stay at this hotel, while the above reasons are important, the experience is enhanced by the fact that it is on the banks of the Ganga river. Having the morning tea on the kamaliya terrace made the start of my day gorgeous and fulfilling.

Call Dilip Singh the front office manager on +91 7390-850072. He is very helpful . Since you arrive by boat , there are only 2 or 3 steps to climb to get to the lift . I am sure that will nit be an issue . Even if you decide not to travel around the nearby gaalis and ghats, just sitting on the terrace or on your balcony watching the river is a great experience . I hope it works out and your Dad has a great time .
