Detailed Reviews
The hotel is at an excellent location.. Just at the banks of river Ganges. The Maharaja rooms have an excellent view of the river and nearby ghats from the room and balcony. The terrace is a major attraction.
The room service standards have a scope of improvement so does the food in the restaurant. The wifi and the television didnot work during our 4 night stay.
But the situation of the hotel compensates any discomforts.one can just climb down the stairs to sit at the banks and enjoy the spiritual city.

I just was at Sita Hotel on tne ganges. This is a fantastic place. If you go to Varanasi, its a MUST to stay on the ghats. This hotel is facing the river close to the main ghat where the Arti happens at night. I recommend the deluxe room with balcony facing the river .... worth every penny. AC which is a must in India, hot water is great also. They a rooftop restaurant with best views of Ganga, sunrise/sunset fantastic. The staff is fabulous and get out of their way to help u in anyway they can. Thanks a million to Manoj and Vijay and everybody else. Dont forget u are in Varanasi and things get complicated sometimes. From airport taxi will drop u from main square and from there you will get plenty of offer to help u find the place or wherever u are going. TAKE THE OFFER. These chaotic streets near the river are a little nightmare, u will never find this place or any other ones...trust these guys, they will take u straight to the hotel and carry one suitcase... dont try to go alone, not even with GPS. THank u Sita xoxo

I visited Varanasi on Feb 4th with my aged parents. We had booked Hotel Sita which was right on the banks of Dashaswamedha ghat. A great location although not suitable for older people. The car needs to stop at the main road and then it's quite a walk with my aged parents. The hotel send two of their staff to carry our luggage. Also the steps to the hotel are quite steep & difficult for older people. We had some issues with the room but the manager Mr. Manoj Kumar was very accommodating & put us in another room. The hotel needs some improvement in the maintenance work but overall the stay was quite pleasant. A special mention to Vishal, a wonderful & friendly person. Ever smiling with a great attitude, he helped my parents countless times to walk up & down the steep steps whenever needed. People like him makes the stay memorable. The other staff members were also quite helpful. Close to the ghat to watch arati as well as the Kashi Vishwanath temple, this place is quite ideal for a pilgrim tour.

The house keeping staff was non responsive. Even basics like water was not provided despite reminders. The quality of food was below average especially at dinner time. Wrong dishes were given and the time taken to serve the food was too
Tariff too high for the quality of the room and the service. The only saving grace was the view of the Ganga from the room.

Overall experience was not so great
Views from the room: Excellent, overlooking the Ganges and bang on the ghat. Probably the best views Varanasi can afford
Room upkeep: Very poor especially for the rates charged. Even basic 3 star facility missing. No cleanliness or hygiene. I moved out of the hotel for this reason. Electricity went of couple of times in the night, not sure if they have backup
Room size: standard room very very small without a window. Extremely claustrophobic, DO NOT STAY WITH FAMILY in standard room. My brother in law stayed alone there. Maharaja room is much bigger and comfortable but extremely expensive and a put off due to poor upkeep. We stayed in Maharaja room family of 4 with 2 kids. Don’t go by reviews saying rooms are great etc. be ready for a disappointed if you turn up reading the reviews like me🙄🙄
Approach to hotel: be clear in your mind that you will be walking through alleys and small by lanes and it won’t be clean. It’s about 700 m from the road to the hotel. You have to walk as vehicles can’t come in
Distance to temple: about 15 mins walk again through old by lanes and gulleys. Be ready for garbage/dung in some places
Boating facility: Excellent as this is right on the ghat, be ready to haggle with the botman. You will get it cheaper by 50% if you go to the main ghat and take a common boat
Restuarent: food is very good and the views from restuarent are great. Price is reasonable
Guide facility: just about ok, you pay him well and he will do this job but is always in a hurry. Also got a feeling that they want to cater to foreign tourist more than Indians 😢
Overall enjoyed the view and food and spent as less time in the room as possible. Moved to another hotel as was not keen to continue further
Pandey ji is manager and is helpful but given the condition of the hotel it’s best to avoid unless you are desperate for the view

The Hotel Sita is wonderfully located for a full-on experience of Varanasi, a city teeming with life, where death is central, its tangled narrow alleyways harbouring temples, cows, goats, dogs, chickens, ash-covered saddhus, beggars, vendors of everything imaginable, bright silks for sarees flashing their beautiful colours in the dimness….
If you have no experience of India, winding through the maze of passages to the Ganges, treading carefully to avoid dirt & uneven paving stones, a porter shouldering your luggage as only motor cycles, not even rickshaws, can negotiate these straits, might be rather disconcerting, but if you really don’t mind the odd monkey or mouse, tepid water ( who needs hot in the climate), not being in an antiseptic environment & want to be right on a Ghat, the Hotel Sita is an excellent choice. It could do with a good scrub here & there as well as a coat of paint, but all the staff were very pleasant did their best to accommodate requests.
There is a roof-top restaurant with a spectacular view of the city and very palatable food.
I wish to recommend the guide called Diamond at the hotel(+91 90264 09212) without whom I would not have found my way around. To list just a few things, he arranged for a boat ride before dawn to see the morning fire offering to the sacred river, visits to the innumerable temples & many other sights I wanted to see, a trip to Sarnath, me a SIM card for an Indian telephone, a pencil sharpener, a PCR test, took me to taste delicious lassi ( a specialty of the city) and other scrumptious street food none of which caused any digestive upsets.

Our stay was cut short due to the virus pandemic. The staff were fantastic helping with any request. Our room was comfortable and the rooftop restaurant was a great place to finish each day .staying right on the ganga access to boat ride was straight out front and wandering off to explore was fantastic. We pre booked a taxi with the hotel which is a must .once again thanks to all the staff to help us enjoy our holiday.

+1
The best feature of Hotel Sita is its location. Sitting atop Chausatty Ghat, adjacent to Dashashwamedh Ghat, it is probably the best location one can find in Varanasi. You can directly look at the ghats from your window/balcony all day.
The staff are friendly and helpful, front-desk manager Pandey ji and restaurant manager Manoj deserves a special mention. The food is good and tasty.
There is free Wi-Fi.
The only con is that there is no road connectivity. One has to walk along the ghats or through the narrow 'gallis' of Varanasi to reach the hotel. But, anyway, that's an added flavour of Kashi, though senior citizens might find it difficult.

Regarding our recent Varanasi trip, staying at hotel Sita was very pleasant. After passing through the famous lanes of Varanasi, we reached the Sita hotel , situated just on the bank of river Ganga, which was an amazing feeling. Staying at this hotel was very comfortable and pleasant. The rooftop restaurant was very nice and well maintained and the view of the River Ganga from it's balcony was truly heavenly. Pandey Ji as well as other staffs of this hotel are very polite and well behaved . Our trip guide, Biswajit Biswas (Bishu) is very helpful and his guidance made our trip much better. Overall, our experience on visiting Varanasi was very much pleasant .

Yes property has lift and is at the bank of ganga
No they dont have pickup facility, u can take a rickshaw from station they will charge 150 to 200 rs per auto.
Since the hotel is on ghats otndies not have direct acess to main road and you have to walk for about 600 mtrs from the main road,
You can call the hotel reception who will send one person to carry your luggage to the hotel.
Good question . I am not very sure . Did not have any power cut during my stay but I am sure they will have generator back up
Yes, they have an elevator. In the hotel there is no problem for elderly people, but in general climbing up the stairs on the ghats can be a problem for people with knee problems.
