#9 of 312 B&Bs / Inns in Varanasi
We are a cosy homestay nestled in the heart of the chaos and divinity of Varanasi. The Granny's Inn is run by two loving grannies - Aruna and Asha. They make delicious home cooked food with the help of their man Friday - Kashi. The homestay is being guided by Cinnamon Stays - the No. 1 Bed & Breakfast of Gurgaon & amongst the top 25 B&B's in India ranked on Tripadvisor. Location Just 10 min brisk walk from the Kashi Vishwanath temple & Dashashwamedh Ghat. Banks, ATMs, sari factories, street food are all within walking distance from our homestay. 30min from the station and about 45min from the airport. Rooms 6 creatively furnished rooms, all with en suite bathrooms, with AC and non AC options. The rooms are well lit and ventilated, have hand painted mirrors and paintings that add life to the homestay. Each room is named after the women in the family who are the reason behind the Granny's Inn Additional Facilities · Pick-up and drop from the airport and railway station - additional charges · Local guides for sightseeing & shopping A few things to remember · No non-vegetarian food or alcohol is served/ allowed at the Granny's Inn. · The wi-fi internet often goes patchy · We are a homestay and not a hotel or a run-of-the-mill guesthouse. Please expect the warmth of a home, good food, local tips but not the facilities of a hotel

We had requested from our tour provider to stay in good 3 star hotels or 4 star and had checked reviews for this place before staying so we were very disappointed on arrival. We were not welcomed on our arrival or orientated about meals, how to get a cup of tea etc. the room was very grim and we had to search for bed covers and pillows. At this stage of our trip we had been in India for a while so not unfamiliar with firm beds but our bed was shockingly hard and our door opened onto the common room so very little privacy. Lots of noise both from the street and the common room which was also not very clean. The breakfast was also terrible. We ended our stay after one very sleepless night. In fact the only time anyone spoke to us was when they realised we wanted to leave. I don’t have any photos. I was too tired and overwhelmed to take any. I realise a lot of singles like this place so I will end by saying it was unsuitable for us and our needs.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Granny's Inn. We felt so happy we chose it. The location was a short walk to the Ganges and ghats but it was in a quiet and calm spot. We felt so incredibly welcome, when we got back each day we were told 'welcome home.' The manager helped us with planning trips and was so efficient, thoughtful and kind. The courtyard was a lovely place to sit and the breakfast was good. Our only regret was that we never got chance to have dinner there as it smelt amazing!

You NEED TO experience this lovely home away from home at least once. As far as I'm concerned, I can't imagine staying anywhere else if I come to Varanasi. The place is BEAUTIFULLY decorated yet not overdone. A lot of greenery inside the house, the traditional courtyard with the most comfortable sitting arrangement and fun doodles around to have your morning tea, the happy, colorful yet traditional decor, the curtains made out of benarasi sarees, Kashi ji's oh-so-delicious traditional fare with surprisingly no excess of oil or spices(as good as your mom's cooking if not better) and the most charming and adorable daadi... I can go on and on about this place. Please book now to know what you are missing out on.

I stayed at Granny's Inn in July of 2019. It was a very nice stay where I felt welcome and safe. My friend and I are solo female travelers and this was a perfect place for us to stay in Varanasi. Mayur helped arrange several tours of some beautiful temples, Saranath, and the city of Varanasi. All the tours were wonderful, informative and exactly what we asked for. I highly recommend a stay of Granny's Inn in this beautiful spiritual city!

We stayed in granny's inn from 25 Nov to 28 Nov 2019.Granny's inn is very close to the main ghats and the main vishwanath Temple. The rooms are very comfortable with most basic needs catered for. The staff is very responsive and courteous. The food is simple, homely and pure veg. So if you're looking for a quiet, simple, comfortable stay at close proximity to the important Holy places, then Granny's inn is the place. The warmth and love of the old lady known as granny is a wonderful experience. You never tire to talk to her and hear her stories. A Gr8 and wonderful experience. Sudhansh & Seema Ranjan
