The Hotel Temple on Ganges garners much appreciation for its attentive service and prime location on Assi Ghat, offering travelers stunning river views and easy access to activities. Guests commend the hotel for its cleanliness, including spotless rooms and well-kept facilities.
While the serene atmosphere is a highlight for many, opinions on value and room size are mixed, with some finding the rooms small and questioning the cost. The rooftop terrace is a celebrated feature, though some guests desire more in terms of room amenities and dining vibrancy.

This is my second time staying at Hotel Temple on Ganges. I returned to this place mainly due to the hospitality extended to me and my family during my last visit 2 years back. Both my experiences at this hotel have been extremely comfortable and pleasant because of the well mannered and helpful staff. Its location in one of the prime areas of the city makes it very convenient for guests, for example to participate in the Ganga Aarti at Assi Ghat, which is a 2 minute walk away, and also indulge in local food and cultural shopping. The hotel has around a little more than 20 rooms and each room is different from the other. Some of the rooms offer beautiful views of the river Ganga and the glorious sunrises on its banks. Rooms have common balconies which run along the periphery of the building. Rooms are modestly sized, due to the fact that the hotel is located in the old city, clean and amenity-filled (such as WiFi, hot water, AC, and heater). There is a small temple within the hotel’s compound at its backside. The food at the kitchen is tasty and vegetarian. The puri bhaaji and ginger chai are worth ordering every breakfast! The kitchen manager always listens to your specific requests and tries his best to accommodate. The reception staff are very courteous and offers services like arranging for taxis, etc. Although the hotel is located in a busy area of the city, it still maintains a very peaceful atmosphere. I shall look forward to my next trip to Kashi (my favorite city!) and will for sure stay at this hotel once again.

Recommended by a friend Location : close to a cleanest ghat Easy access to ghat
Cleanliness: excellent
Rooms : river view was amazing albeit low tide Hot water 24/ 7 , working air con that I had to turn it off as it cools quickly , small fridge and kettle in the room were real perks
Food did not cause any stomach upset
Staff : All from front office to room service , facilities men were polite , pleasant and personable. Some of them more importantly converse in English which was a surprise.
Cons _ Food timings are a bit inconvenient as stats at 0800 AM and 2000 hours.
Definitely would like to return back and recommend to friends and family

We stayed in HotelTemple on Ganges for 3 nights and 4 days in December 2022. It was a fabulous experience and the manager Mr. Madam Mohan was truly helpful and a very good person. The hotel room that we stayed was so good, breakfast was free and was served in our room and we could just make a phone call and order whatever we wanted. Truly a good and unforgettable experience. I will come again here. Regards Vyshali Anand

We opted for Ground Floor room since my mother was there with us. Staffs are really empathetic and caring. Rooms are clean, bad-odourless and decent. Food is all veg but very good and of course healthy. Point to note is that once on order is given, by 30-40 mins, they freshly prepare the food and serve. Dining room is also clean. Location wise, this hotel is just round the corner of Asi Ghat.

Hotel Temple I found by chance while I was shooting near Assi Ghat. The hotel is located in a good location near Assi where you can reach all the most important destinations. The Hotel has a panoramic terrace where you can see the Ganga as well as having the opportunity to do yoga, The staff is friendly and helpful. I felt good about it.

Definitely NOT the peaceful haven it's website describes. Hotel is situated very close to where the main Arti takes place and close to a funfair (hadn't expected a funfair in Varanasi). Add in the constant vehicle horns and stray dogs barking and it's easy to understand why sleep is a bonus at this hotel. (I appreciate this is out of their control but they should not describe so incorrectly on their website.) Location is fine if you're deaf or not worried about getting any sleep.
Very male orientated hotel, did not see one female staff member. Very tip orientated, had 5 staff trying to take our luggage. Found reception very blunt and unhelpful.
Breakfast is done to order, which would be great if it hadn't taken 40+ minutes for a fruit juice and slice of toast!
Rooms are small, which we knew before booking but no toiletries and more importantly no toilet paper. Thankfully we had taken some with us. Room was not cleaned during our 4 night stay. We had to ask for fresh towels and for bins to be emptied.
I try to give balanced reviews but genuinely can't find anything positive about this hotel.
Varanasi is an incredibly interesting city and very much worth visiting but find a better hotel than this one.

The hotel experience was very pleasant and we did not have any difficulty during our stay. Recommended for anyone who need to stay away from core Varanasi and right on Assi ghat. The hotel has a bit of old world charm in its exterior and the room we stayed had the interiors done recently and was mordent to stay
The positives are:
1. Location was right on Assi ghat and access to boat rides, e-rickshaw and eateries were all within walking distance.
2. Hotel staff was very helpful and catered to all our needs without any issues. Mr Dilip Bhai ( the manager) was very helpful during the whole reservation process and also arranged the needed guides and transportation as requested.
3. Room # 20 that we stayed was a triple deluxe room with a river view. While room itself was split into 2 section and small but was well organized with a clean toilet, hot water, A/C and clean linens. The room was cleaned promptly every day.
4. They do have a terrace with a great view of the Ganges but seems a little under utilized.
Improvement areas:
1. The terrace needs a good refurbishment with fans and proper tables. This place can be converted to be the perfect breakfast/dinner spot
2. The restaurant while it serves good and tasty food, takes a long time. Be prepared to wait for 30-45 mins as everything is prepared after being ordered ( so plan in advance). I think the hotel can tell this to their guests upfront.
3. The area around the front of hotel can be cleaned and some tiling/ paving work can be undertaken to make it more appealing.
Overall, we had a pleasant stay and keep in mind that this is a 2 Star hotel and for the price charged, I felt we got a very good service. Best is to call hotel directly and fix the room and price. Kudos to Dilip Bhai, Anand and others to make our stay comfortable

We travelled from delhi . All arrangements incliding pickup from railway station wete made by Madan Mohan Pandeyji the owner.
Location for the hotel is superb .Just 100 mtrs from Assi ghat they have a big compound where we kept our car parked for 3 days. Everything incldg temples and markets is close by.
Rooms are clean. Mattresses are comfy. We had a quad terracw room and view was heavenly. Food is very good for kids and elderly. Great taste with very little oil .Just perfect !! You will have to wait a bit as everything is prepared fresh.
Staff is very cordial . They even fulfilled our demands of getting stuff from outside and served on terrace. We were really at home . Kids enjoyed running around the property . Air conditioning is strong and effective .Water pressure is good . A perfect blend of traditional and modernity . What stands out is the service . Staff of Madan pandey ji goes extra length to make you feel at home . Pradeep served us and took care of everything .. Wonderful experience !! Would love to be back again

This Hotel is very comfortabel for Pligrammes as it is located on the Assie Ghat, Banks of river Ganges. Good tasty food but simpel. Hospitality is great. The staff is most cooperative. The owner of the hotel also take care of the inmates. But not for the leisure holidayers and senior citizens as there is no Lift fecilities and may be dificult to take steps to the second floor and Roof top to spectate Ganges. Good transport fecility and parking available onsite. We stayed with family for 4 nights on tripple sharing room. Room is nice..seems reacently furbished. Godd hotel but bit over priced
