Kush and dad (Mr Bharman) run the establishment with efficiency and pride. Rooms are spacious and the balcony over the Ganges River is such a bonus. Kush is an expert on Varanasi. Dinner at Scindhia is a must - varied menu and excellent food. Don't be fooled by the outside impressions. Close to everything that needs to be seen and done in Varanasi

This is the perfect location, steps away from the Ganges river, next to Manikarnika Ghat and a 10 minute walk from Dashashwamedh Ghat. This is a family run hotel, the manager is very nice and helpful and is always making sure you are happy and you have what you need. We organized the sunrise/sunset Ganges boat ride through him and it was a very reasonable price. Some of the boat rides come with a guide to explain everything but we actually preferred to not have a guide so we could relax and take it all in and just be alone. The man who was paddling the boat have us some good information here and there that was interesting. We also organized our tuk tuk to saranath through the hotel, again, reasonable price and nice tuk tuk driver. You can trust this hotel to book things for

Nice clean room, and bathroom. And as we had a balcony with Ganges view, we were satisfied at first. But as it near Burning Ghat the room was filled with smoke throughout the day. Maybe the wind direction was the reason. Scindhia Guest House is only half the size from before, as a half has been torn down, and bricks were placed in the hallway. We found the room expensive, as it was the most expensive stay in our three weeks holiday in India, and breakfast was not included. The restaurant was almost not there, but we had our breakfast there twice. Manager was very friendly, and helped us to get to the airport by boat to the bridge and then taxi, although it was on Shiva wedding.

Stay here for a great experience in Varanasi. The guest house is run by Kush who is incredibly kind and welcoming. There is no better location, you will be in the heart of the action. We were right next to the main burning ghat and were worried about the smell but this was not an issue. He will get you great deals on walking tours and boat rides, which are recommended, outside prices are much higher. The meals upstairs on the roof are simple but delicious, some of the best we had, plus the view is spectacular. The rooms are simple but clean. When you arrive in Varanasi organize to be picked up by the hotel as it can be hard to find from the main road if you don't know the way. We ended up having to ask a local to show us the way and it cost much more than a transfer would have
