The room one of the most expensive one is on 4th floor and without lift. The balcony has a bunch of uncomfortable chair. The tv has no sound and the ac does not work properly in May heat. What worse can one think of. My week end has gone to the dogs. Feel like promising never to come back to Varanasi but cant do that also. But this hotel No and Never
We loved the location of this hotel. Just right on the famous Assi Ghat. Rooms are nice and clean though waiter was keep trying to remember us about payment which was bit weird. We booked our Kashi and Ayodhya trip with Kashi Ghumo which was excellent. Contact them at ghumokashi@gmail.com for any local services. We recommend them. Overall a great stay in Kashi.
Overall a great place to stay if you want to be closer to ghats. Param n other staff members were nice to talk to and very polite. Their two rooms with ganga view are awesome Restaurant in house has good options. Breakfast choice is limited but ok Its on the assi ghat where morning aarti is conducted followed by yoga. Very well located hotel
This was better than expected, I had the corner room on the first floor… at 100+F outside, this was the most comfortable room I can think of. Issues that shouldn’t matter, leaky faucets and pipes kept the bathroom floor wet. Rooftop restaurant with view is a definite plus. And the staff were more than welcoming and helping. River Ganges we’re literally steps away from the hotel. If you like street foods, this is the location to stay at.
We cancelled an existing booking and opted for this hotel, looking at its location (assi ghat). We did not get a room with riverside view as requested but a room at the back. For the rates we paid it was not worth. The hotel interiors were thematic and well done but our room was cramped and old. Bathroom did really need an upkeep. There was no hot water on the third day and we had to demand a room change. Wifi was terrible and not enough power outlets in the room. Food was ordinary. Restaurant is located in the basement and rooftop.... so plenty of stairs to climb.
Situated at the famous Assi Ghat, hotel rooms provide view of Ganges from the balcony. Rooms are cozy, well maintained, and beautiful. Named on different states of India, each and every room gives a different warmth and feel. Roof top restaurant is a must visit. All major temples, especially Kashi Vishwanath and Sankatmochan temples are a few minutes away from the hotel. Menu covers more or less each and every food item and ofcourse prepared with hygiene. Highly recommended to everyone.
Our experience was much better than what I can read here. Maybe the top floor room with a private terrace made the big difference? The hotel location is ideal! the staff was very nice! The terrace/lounge full of plants beautiful. Good breakfast. Overall a very good experience!
Palace on the Ganges is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, dirty pillows and sheets full of stains. And if you are unlucky enough to get a room down stairs your window will open up to a painted wall one foot away from the window. Do not stay here.
Beautiful staff and restaurant is great. However, rooms are smelly. Beds hard as rocks. Facilities poor. Close to Ganga. Internet and wifi not consistent. Electricity goes off at night. Would. Not recommend.
This former palace is rather old. It has some style but not very comfortable. Bathroom of room 201 very small, breakfast not outstanding. Friendly staff, prices relatively high (9000 Rp++ pn). Location nice but its not a quiet hotel! Traffic till 11 pm. Good laundry service.
