With lot of options to choose from the Oldest City to stay! and also keeping in mind for the safety with covid guidelines finalised The Taj ganges at the destination for a short detour for the weekend.The location was little far from the ghats but in the heart of the city. The management has put in their full effort to adhere to the safety guidelines from the entry to the hotel and everything else. The minute efforts put should be appreciated with access to sanitizers in places frequently touched. The team from the reception also made the check in process quick.The rooms felt slightly smaller compared to other places at this rate. But the rooms were beautiful,shiny and filled with good vibes. The breakfast at the Chowk wasn't as expected with very limited options, Food of Varuna was very good and we enjoyed it. Special thanks for the staff from The Varuna and housekeeping to make our stay good!

We stayed 3 nights on our trip at this hotel. Its setting makes it a abode of peace with huge grounds in the middle of this chaotic holy city. Though, there were some Indians staying, it caters to the overseas visitors and tour groups. The rooms are well appointed, though ours had a drainage problem in the shower area, which was fixed on the second request. The Coffee shop called the Chowk had high quality food and the serving staff, where very efficient and anxious to serve us. A delightful and restful experience. The foot bath was a nice touch with rose petals in warm water to soothe our feet after walking thru the lanes of this city.

I stayed several nights, and the various hotel staff were helpful.
They have good security staff checking people and luggage before entering the facility.
The business center was upstairs near the office staff desks and had a fast internet connection.
Lots of food selection at the various Buffet stations, with friendly staff.
The rooms have nice amenities and attentive staff
DO not mail a letter in the lobby mail box. I bought stamps from the concierge desk staff for my letter. It has been three months and never received, so who knows what they do with the letters you mail in the hotel.

Food and beverages are part of our daily celebration of life, and appreciating this, we are pleased to learn that you enjoyed our buffet offerings, and our colleagues were able to deliver upon your expectations. I am grateful to you for your kind, frank and objective feedback and would also like to reassure you of our commitment to our guests, and to the sense of Indian hospitality which we have always typified. All postcards/letters which are received in our Lobby Letter Box are collected daily in the morning by the bellboy and are deposited in the Government letter box (Indian Post box) which is inside our premises. From here, all the letters/postcards are collected by the Postman on a daily basis. We did check with the local administrative department of the Indian Post office regarding the dispatch of the postcards collected from Taj Ganges, Varanasi for the month of February,2020, and were informed by the concerned department that all of them had already been dispatched from the Varanasi office. We presume owing to the Corona virus outbreak globally, there could be a delay in the processing of these postcards from India, as a lockdown was announced here in March 2020. During the lockdown period, only essential items were being transported, however we will persist in our efforts to obtain an answer, and regret the inconvenience caused. I was glad to note that this did not detract from the overall stay experience, where you have been most kind with your appreciation. Our efforts to get in touch have been unsuccessful, and we understand and appreciate that you must be keeping busy. Therefore, may I request you to kindly share your preferred email address and contact number, for us to get in touch with you in case we receive any further update from our local Post office in this regard. It would be wonderful also to learn that the cards written by you have reached their intended recipients. It is our sincerest wish and hope that you, and your family, relatives, friends, colleagues, and their families emerge unscathed, and stay well and safe during this unfortunate period. No matter Executive ,GM, Director or anyone at Hotel Staff they will make you feel a valued guest of their Hotel. I would like to use few names, Dharmendra & Abhimanyu( Uncle) from Chowk restaurant will care for you a lot when you at Chowk restaurant he will.make sure that food and taste of food should be great. Rashid from In-house dining makes you feel like home to. Tamal front desk manager from Taj Ganges and Taj Palace - Varanasi welcome you in great manner. Vivek - GM from Taj Ganges will see everything personally, makes sure his team is working properly and all guest are happy. Our first Vacation/ pilgrimage after Covid 2nd wave and we choose Taj Ganges primarily to be sure of health and hygiene both for accommodation as-well as for food;
1) Booking Experience: seamless ,transparent and prompt 2) Travel Desk: Shashank and Team are the most genuine, caring and super prompt at their service a) Temple darshan (deepak local guide) b) Local guided tours c) Shopping etc. they developed such a nice local vendor teams, there is transparency in cost, their local guides will ensure we tourist dont get into trap of road side brokers etc. ask for chauffeur Mohan ,be rest assured you are in safe hands ; super knowledgeable well connected.(all in one) 3) Restaurant/Food: we booked All meal option and you will be treated /fed like a King We need to Thank Azzar,Anil,,Navneet,Abhimanyu ,they genuinely take care of you; young Chef who walks up to you and ensure you are fed really well. When it comes to surprise nothing better than Taj hotels. We checked in for a pit stop for two days at Taj ganges. Thanks to a lovely service plus gave an upgrade to suit room by Mr. vivek sharma gm who met us in person lovely team along with Tamal chatterjee who was an interesting person to talk with. I would also thank Mr Rao from housekeeping who kept such a special care also decorating the room on my wife's birthday. Thanks Taj you made our day to begin our journey back to Kolkata with loads of memory.

The large hearted Taj hospitality makes you feel at home in any new city. I must say that the Taj Ganges more than lived upto this expectation.
We had a memorable family trip in December 2020 and thanks to the General Manager Mr. Vivek Sharma and his entire team we had a great memorable stay. They well anticipated all our needs right from meeting our dietary requirements and making arrangement for visits to the ghats, temples or other tourist places like Sarnath. The restaurant food and breakfast spread was fabulous. We would make a special mention of F&B head Mr. Vikas Nagar, Restaurant manager Mr Rajiv Sharma and their entire team Mr. Kaustav. Mr Mangal, Mr. Navneet, Mr. Dharmender, Mr. Abhimanyu , Ms Akanksha and Mr. Jitendra, Mr. Anil and Ms Ananya for taking great care of our dietary needs and giving us a taste of local ethnic delicacies. Please do not miss the Banarasi Thandai at the breakfast and you will find the restaurant team more than willing to ensure that your taste buds are pampered. We also want to make a special mention of the concierge desk headed by Mr. Amar and Shashank for going out of the way to ensure that we go back with great memories of Banaras. Our driver Mr. Kishan and guide Mr. Shashank seem to know every thing about Benaras and were ever willing to answer to the curiosity of my son. They were always on their toes to ensure our safety while we were on the ghats or crowded lanes of Benaras. This trip has left a great mark on us and we will want come back as soon as we get another chance. Right from reservation, to check in and check out the people have been fabulous leaving us with a great impression about the Taj Ganges team and a strong desire to come back. The gym manager Mr. Praveen Nair would be ever willing to organise games and rackets even late in the evening if we wanted to play a game or two. Thanks for maintaining all hygiene and precautions. Every day we would end with a hot water foot massage organised by the housekeeping folks in the room where in they would place large copper bowls with salts and rose water to help us release our travel fatigue.

Stayed for two days and Desk staff were kind enough to provide Inter connected rooms which was a great value addition to us. Front Desk, Travel Desk staff were cordial and always at service with a smile. House keeping staff were helpful and the rooms were cleaned twice daily for hygienic reasons. Chowk, the Restaurant serves hot and delicious foods with the love and care from the staff and the Chef. F&B manager was monitoring and interacting with the guests to make us happy.

Taj Ganges and Nadesar Palace for me are institutions in itself on hospitality. Staff there always display a great level of service in making your stay homely and personal. Each stay the bar goes higher and higher. A lot to learn from the people who works tirelessly to make your stay memorable.
