Suryauday Haveli on Shivala Ghats is a reflection of the spirit of the holy city of Benaras. The Haveli traces its history back to the early 20th century. It was built by the Royal Family of Nepal as a retreat for the aged. Its now been painstakingly put together again to provide the best ghat experience in Benaras. Your stay begins with a 15 minute boat ride upstream along the famous ghats of Benaras to reach the Haveli, other nearest pickup point is Agarwal radio also known as Shivala crossings which is approx 200 meters walk only. The Haveli is also connected by small alleys and streets leading to the Famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple (15 minutes walk).

This is an exceptional hotel on the banks of the Ganga. For us the very essence of spiritual Varinasi. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The internet is a bit slow but adequate and hot water is sometimes a bit short but the courtyard is so peaceful and the staff so friendly that this is not an issue. Would be my first choice for another visit to Varinasi

This hotel is beautiful with an atrium and rooms around the side. A tree grows from the first floor up to the roof level. The view of The Ganges is incredible. The staff are all delightful, helpful, and respectful. My room was very clean and beautifully decorated. I appreciated the customer service here because I was on crutches.
