Hello Friends, It's a pleasant hot & sweet experience in Sankatha Guest House, situated at 100mt from Manikarnika Ghat, Varanasi... Continue shoutings of different Dead Body's co attenders, coming from Different cities even states. Holy pilgrimage ghat, continuous burning of about 100 deads per day.. Gullies, so called Famous small spider net like dirty roads around Kashi Biswanath Temple, about...

The room quite comfortable. Location very close to manikarnika Ghat (dead body burning ghat), but it's difficult to find, we have to ask someone to help us find this hostel and of course it's not free. Owner very helpfull, help arrange our tour, but refuse if they wanna take u to silk factory. The restaurant in the rooftop was good,...

Very well located (2 min walking from Manikarnika, the principal induist burning place over the world) and easy to find evethoug it´s in the messy and narrow streets of Varanasi´s old part. Good restaurant on the roof with nice food (incredible "coffee lassi", BTW). Good rooms (not perfect, not luxury ones, but good to rest and take a shower). Nice...

Room #308, people. It's the best. I stayed in Varanasi for 16 days, so to say I know what I'm talking about is an understatement. For those looking for a comfortable mattress, running hot water (don't worry, it warms up in the afternoon) or walls that aren't thin, look elsewhere. What Sankatha lacks in glamorous amenities, however, it gains in...

Really kind staff who makes you feel like at home! The food is really good and really quick served (thanks to Ravi and Vinod!) Rooms are clean and comfortable and all of that at 1min of the Burning ghat. See you soon for Holi and "Two more" ;)

The best part of Sankatha is the rooftop restaurant which you can get fresh made-to-order food lovingly made by Ravi and Vinod. Also the burning ghats are a short walk down the narrow passageways. If you happen to stay, I can only suggest a short stay as the hard, thin mattresses get harder the longer you stay and the hot...

Its close to the burningghat in the old City. Roms are clean. There was a Problem with hot Water. The rooftop is very nice and the food in the Restaurant is good. The straff is very kindly. Outside you can walk one minute to the burningghat. Everything is close. The narrows are small and its sometimes very busy.

The location of this guest house is very good, close to essential Varanasi landmarks like Manikarnika Ghat and Vishwanath temple. The owner is attentive and will offer you some tours. The food in the restaurant is good, and the rooftop is always a plus. You can also exchange money at standard fares.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We welcome you to a quiet, comfortable, homely atmosphere, and hope you enjoy your stay with us. This budget accommodation in Varanasi offers fine facilities. 21 rooms all with attached bath, some with air condition. We are at the main heart of the city, absolute bank of the River Ganges, so any place and every spot is easily reachable. 'MANIKARNIKA GHAT' is famous for Burning Ghat, where Hindus burn body after death. At last but not least our services are exclusively traditional. We believe our guest as God in disguise. Situated in the heart of the ancient Varanasi close to the Golden Temple and Burning Ghat. Walking distance from Main Ghat and Main Market. 30 minutes from railway station/bus stop, airline offices, 1 hour from Varanasi Airport. If you desire to spend less for a comfortable stay, still live in privacy, style, luxury and elegance, with very simple but very comfortable and immaculately clean rooms, with/without attached baths/showers, running hot and cold water, western style toilets then this is it!! We have a little sitting arrangement for our guests where they come sit, share their stories, plan for the next day, drink and dine and have a whole lot of fun together. ... more   less
