Detailed Reviews
We booked this hotel online, primarily guided by it “high rating” for its location. It is about 100metres from Dasashwamedh Ghat/Rajendra Prasad Ghat( these ghats are adjacent) which are on the bank of the holy Ganges. It’s also walking distance from the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Being so beautifully located, one can spend sunrise(and sunset) on the river bank or boating on the river. We were two couples, the standard double room is small, the deluxe double room is larger with a small sitting area, both with attached bathrooms. Level of hygiene is very good. The hotel staff are polite, courteous and responsive to any requests. Soap & body lotion are provided, though you’ve got to ask for toilet rolls! The rooms we booked were Airconditioned, but we didn’t require AC in 1st week March. Despite being in the busiest part of this chaotic, noisy city, you are in a silent cocoon once inside the room. The hotel has ground floor + five floors( the fifth floor is being developed). The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, but there are plenty of restaurants in the lane leading to the hotel. From South Indian to “pan-Asian” and Israeli, all kinds of food are available nearby. The staff at the front desk( Piyush& Amit) are very helpful and did help in arranging for a boat ride( to view the evening Ganga Aarti) and for taxi ride to visit Sarnath Chaukhandi Stupa. For the location & the service provided the rooms were quite cheap( INR 1600-1900 per day for two of us).

The best hotel to stay near the ghats. It is walking distance to the ghats and all nearby attractions. The hotel is in great condition, has a lift, excellent wifi, the rooms are of big size compared to others in the area.
The hotel staff is one of the best I’ve experienced in all my travels. They are very accommodating to all your needs. I had stayed at the hotel multiple times in the last 2 years and the staff goes above and beyond to help with all your needs.
The food is also very good. There is a restaurant on the rooftop and you can enjoy the sunrise over a cup of chai.
The hotel also provides airport shuttle service, car hires for sightseeing and also has currency exchange.
I highly recommend the hotel to anyone looking to stay near dadhashwamedh ghat where the evening Ganga Arti is only a couple minutes walk. If you want a true real experience of Benaras, stay here.

+1
Expectation VS. Crude reality and the reality is like nightmare for me this is what I can only say about my two night stay in this hotel. It cost minimum Rs.1750(double due to chat festival) per night for a couple room and booked through booking.com but not worth for the money. If you are only for pilgrim purpose with a very tight budget and want to stay in a upgraded Dharamsala near to the Ganga then this is a good choice but if you are expecting a HOTEL with all normal facilities then this place is not for you. A list of pros and cons :
Pros:
1. Very near to Dashmedh Ghat
2. Stuffs are all very good and helpful, they always try to make your stay comfort within the facilities they have
3. Running hot water
4. Lift
5. Rooms are okay
Cons:
1. No room cleaning : after discussing the same with Mr. Piyush(owner) my understanding is this is due to the owner mentality to use very less stuff and save money to changes bed sheet and salary of extra cleaning stuffs. The owner just have many reason to say why he can't provide instead of listing to the customer complain. Poor and old mentality
2. Other than 2 soaps for 3 days there is no other tolietteries provided : after complain the same the owner response was " Please ask( can I say please beg) what you want I will provide" - Nonsense response I must say.
3. Breakfast they bought from outside and bread toast means they will provide you only 2pcs of bread and an ommlette of 1 egg no tea nothing: I went out to have my breakfast without complaining to that arrogant owner(Mr. Piyush).
4. No bed cover changing for 3 days no room cleaning for 3 days, even no one take the dustbin out from the room
5. No TV channel
6. This room cost never be more than 300-400 per person / night or 500 to 700 for couple / double occupancy.
Gems of this hotels are:
1. Gallu ( the room service boy),
2. Bhaivab ( night sift manager), who gave me his own room mosquito destroyer to me.
3. Manika Chakraborty( Manager) but she cooked fish for us, a lady with smile in face

Before planning this trip, we knew our day would start at the break of dawn, we would take a dip in the Ganges, watch the beautiful sunrise/ sunset on the boat, experience the Ganga Aarati by the Ghats and snooze between two different locations when the temples are closed, so we chose to be as close to the ghats as possible.
Hotel Bachchan Palace was our perfect pick and rightly so cos it’s inexpensive and very close to the Dashaswamedh Ghat! Also, it’s a straight alley to Gate No 2 of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Loved the connectivity from the hotel to most religious sites & cultural landmarks!
Mithilesh Pandeyji at the hotel was courteous and helpful. He offered porter service to & from the hotel to the nearest vehicle zone which is a 15 min walk, arranged airport drop service at a reasonable cost. This truly made our travel and stay hassle-free! He shared cultural insights and guided us whenever we needed support. Also, helped us draw a suitable 2 1/2 day itinerary.
What would have made this a 5 star rating is complimentary water bottles per day (they missed giving us those as we had ordered a 2l Bisleri on the first day), basic toiletries (only a small bar of soap & toilet roll provided), basic cleaning of room on day 2.
PS: Owing to narrow lanes, access is difficult for people with disability and senior citizens. the nearest vehicle zone is Nandi sthup circle. There are cycle rickshaws which help ferry people but climbing up these can also be challenging for some. Having said that, the hotel can arrange for a wheelchair with assistant (a third party vendor at an extra cost) and has an elevator inside with very helpful staff.
So if you’re someone who loves to explore the city on foot, you’ll love this experience!

This hotel is owned by a very gracious gentleman who went above and beyond to help me out since I was traveling alone. The location is in a very narrow alley near the most popular ghat (due to the evening aarti ceremony). My taxi driver was unable to find it; we called the hotel, and someone calmed my driver down and sent Somnath on a motorbike to retrieve me and my luggage. (He also took me a central meeting point for my return transfer to the airport, which was INCREDIBLY appreciated.) The accommodations are simple but clean. I can’t imagine anything closer to the Ganges and the Dasaswamedh Ghat being better. And there’s a clean restaurant on the top floor.
Points to note - bring AirPods or ear plugs. The walls are thin, and my floor mates loud. Flushing, coughing, even burping … fortunately I sleep soundly almost anywhere.
Varanasi is a magical place, and I’m so grateful I had a chance to experience it so close to the main historical points of interest.

Clean, centrally located, close to everything, staff very helpful and responsive to reported needs.
The food is tasty. And they even managed to do it at the agreed time. 😉The water is warm. It was cold in January, so we got heaters in the rooms. When we were practicing yoga on the roof, the Lord kept an eye on us so that the monkeys didn't disturb us 🤩

Good experience staying at Bachchan Palace around Dasaswamedh Ghat area. If you arrive Varanasi by train, it would be little arduous to reach this place without guidance. It is in an chaotic alley typical mix of culture/traditions/shops. Staying was relaxing without any hassles. They have elevator too. Highlight was the rooftop cafe from where you can see all around the ghats from Harischandra Ghat to Dasaswamedh Ghat. Would recommend travellers to stay there to find better accommodations in restricted budget.
