Guleria Kothi offers a blend of experiences that many find enchanting, particularly for its vibrant atmosphere and beautiful views of the Ganges. Guests commend the helpful service, cultural programs, and amenities like complimentary boat rides. However, opinions vary on the value, with some finding the food pricey and service occasionally lacking. Though the rooms are appreciated for their charm, critiques surface regarding size, cleanliness, and noise levels. Access to the hotel and temples poses challenges for travelers, yet the picturesque location remains a highlight.

We had a great 3 night stay.
It starts as soon as you enter, because the Doorman looks exactly like Indian film star Amitabh Bachchan.

Clean room, fresh linens, and wonderfully helpful staff.
The location of the hotel is great, you can have breakfast or dinner on the roof terrace with a view over the Ganges river.
Then there is also a great chef who prepares the most delicious meals for you.
The waiter also has very good taste and gives the right advice.

In short, you will want to go back to Varanasi just for the hotel!!

Visited Guleria with family and friends . The property is located on the bank of the Ganges at Ganesh Ghat, it’s very well maintained beautiful property, with rooms on every floor and a beautiful view of the Ganges . The entire staff was very courteous and went out of their way to make it comfortable for us . Shyam, restaurant manager and their teams were very helpful courteous and provided very good support during our stay and also made superb arrangements for Ganga Aarti .
Deepak the local guide made every effort to show us the temple, weavers colony

Very good location the river Ganges near Bhonsale Ghat. Short boat ride to the main Ghat where Aartis are held (Dashashwamedh Ghat). Food is decent and useful as an option to nearby local establishments which are very basic. Hotel itself has history but it is run down and needs some refurbishment. Cafe outside is nice to hang out and people watch and order light snacks/drinks. Can see camels across the river and people going for pilgrimage in the mornings. Its great river location has some minor challenges with transportation to get yourself and baggage to the hotel. It can all be arranged through the hotel but you need a taxi from the airport (about 45 minutes) and the a boat from JagatGuru Ravidas Ghat to Bhonsale Ghat. Think of Ghat as steps to the river. Your stay at the hotel comes with a boat ride from and back to the hotel each day included. Also, while most locals know this, Varanasi, as a holy place offers veg only meals and is a dry town for 1.5km. Hotels location makes it more challenging if you want to see temples which are not near the river and require car transportation. Hotel bathrooms could be a little cleaner as well.

The wow factor ! Beautifully restored building right on the bank of the Ganges ! A small 15 room hotel with rooftop terraces affording the most amazing views along the river and the opposite bank. Perfectly placed to walk along the ghats. The hotel is accessible only by boat or by very narrow and steep lanes, so your arrival with your luggage will be by boat, a brilliant introduction to Varanasi ! The hotel has their own boats and you will get to know the friendly boatmen who are at your disposal 😊. There is a restaurant on the top floor of the hotel and a cafe serving snacks on the ground floor at the front. Be aware that there are a lot of steps around the hotel, take care, don’t rush and it will be fine !

A lovely hotel with very helpful and attentive staff.

The service, rooms and overall experience is excellent. The location is very beautiful that opens to scenic ganga and they have great facility to go to any place through boat service that is 24x7 available. The taste of food will be always missed. Highly recommend this place

The location= Awesome
More than anything, the staff hospitality was beyond excellence.
The front desk was manned by Anshu, Easwar and Shekhar., the help they extended is beyond what a normal hotel does. My experience was very good with all three who man the front desk.
The staff in kitchen Shyam is a young 24 year old person. Really cool kiddo and if you connect with him , he will amuse you with his demeanor.
It's not accessible for senior citizens .
We stayed on 4th Floor in rooms 401 &402.

Also they are not petty like other hotels, the minibar and snacks and few seasonal fruit are all complimentary.

Don't look for food anywhere , just use their Restaurant.

I will visit again

We stayed at Guleria Kothi for our bloggers meet and it was a beautiful and comfortable one indeed. The entrance itself gives such a luxurious old-world feel that you look forward to your stay even more.

It is located on the Assi ghat and has a gorgeous view of the river. Enjoying breakfast and tea facing it was truly an experience. There's a temple hall with a beautiful Vishnuji idol which is prayed to and adorned with flowers everyday.

The room was cosy and came with the usual amenities like kettle and tea bags, coffee etc, toileteries and a jar of tasty cookies. Our room was river-facing and I loved it.

The buffet spread for every meal was extensive and very tasty. The staff was extremely polite and served us chai and snacks throughout the day during our workshops and chats.

You cannot take enough pictures here. Every corner offers a different backdrop and gives it a unique look. From amazing decor with lovely usage of colours to great food, it made our experience a memorable one.

Stayed here for two days but it didn't feel enough. Definitely would want to stay here again on my next Varanasi visit.

Zero customer service. Staff is so irresponsible that out of 7 calls made to them from bombay, they hv no decency to even reply nor call back

The front office staff dosnt even know the correct WiFi password

The sr person Ms Hemali and booking manager Fiazan were just buzy in defending their staff even though they were wrong !!

Most of the amenities mentioned on website are not there / functional

The rooms which they claim to be river front are so small and hardly one can see river

The approach is so bad and shabby that i do not recommend a female guest to even venture out and stay in this property

The fromt office staff Ashish and Raju are careless beyond one’s imagination

After paying so high tarrif i feel it would have been better to stay in a dharamshala

The property is under renovation/ upgradation which they claim was not mentioned to us at all before we came

Over all a big zero for this property

Hope the msgmt improves and train tgeir staff to atleast have a service motto towards customer rather than treating a customer as a bagger

Mr Damani

We had an occassion to be at ‘Sangeet’ in the guleria kothi courtyard during april 2022. Every aspect of the occassion was made memorable and outstanding by the venue and their management. Id like to state that Ive stayed at several ‘palace’ hotels and attended the dance/singing programmes in their respective courtyards, e.g., taj lake-palace udaipur, brij rama varanasi, etc. While those are very good in their own right, I would rate this experience better, due to the intimate feeling of this courtyard, excellent acoustics, outstanding hosts, and last but not the least the beautiful temple adjacent to the courtyard (with 800+ YO murtis).

Sangeet was followed by meal at the rooftop. This outlooks the ganges with a stunning view of varanasi river banks. Separtely, the rooftop itself is a beautiful place in its own right due to the excellent upkeep of the intricately constructed area. Needless to say food was excellent in variety and taste.

One more point to highlight here versus other river-bank hotels in varnasi, is the approach to the hotel from the steps/banks of ganges. The plantings and their maintenance along with the lighting was exquisite and best in class for varnasi. It truly feels like a special and well caref for venue.

One more aspect to consider is the interest that the family takes in locals and the relationships they have around them. While we were waiting for some people from our party to arrive, some local flutist showed up. The owners graciously had them seated and insisted they have tea with them. Needless to say we got to hear some melodious music while waiting at the river bank - quite a unique experience.

I cried when I departed from this lovely hotel located on the Ganges because it felt like leaving home. The staff, from the front desk to the food servers, from housekeepers to the boatmen, made us feel so welcomed and they quickly became our advisors and friends.
The rooms were well appointed, the cafe and restaurant served tasty meals and the views of life on the Ganges from almost every room and meeting place were glorious. They also offered two cultural evening presentations during our stay.
We spent 5 wonderful days at Guleria Kothi; what a start to our long India adventure.

No, this place is not that big. I don't think more than 200 guests will fit in this venue.

My room was river facing but I don’t think all rooms are. The room I had would have been too small for 3 people. It is on the Guleria Ghat.

There is an elevator in the hotel, but you must take many stairs to reach the entrance. You could arrive by boat, but it is also necessary to take many stairs down the ghat to the boats, then again up to the hotel. I would not consider it accessible.
