This is an old property with dated rooms but surprisingly clean. The rooms are on the bigger side for the price (i opted for the lowest category).Hot shower,Free basic toiletries,Towel,Filtered Drinking Water and acceptable upholstery is what you get.I was satisfied for what I paid.A quite central location and a shaded sit-out are an added attraction.

Very bad experience, bad service, almost worst hotel, don't visit here , worst room service I am very disappointed and this was my worst holiday. I highly recommend that you do not go to this hotelThe staff is horrible, unkind and unpolite. Restaurant terrible! Table cloth speckled and torn, dirty silverware, serving drinks in plastic cups. Food awful, too!

I stayed in this hotel many times in the last ten years. But on my last trip after a couple of years, I was pained to experience the degradation that happened. Front office is the worst you can imagine. Rooms are very ordinary. Washrooms were last renovated ten years back. Room service guys are more interested in tips than service. Food is average. Not worth your money at all

Dear friends, I have written this review to the agent from which I booked the hotel. Your customer care people are so stupid that if they don’t have an answer to my simple genuine question, they will put my phone on hold for 20 minutes and I am left with no option to cut the call. If this is the kind of behaviour you do, then I will have to shift to some better service provider. For your information, you can check my history of bookings and I have never had such ridiculous response. My simple query was that I have booked a hotel for today (Gautam hotel Varanasi). When I reached the hotel, they informed me that it is a non ac room. I called your customer care, they told me that it is not mentioned in the room details, whether it is ac or non ac. I informed them that if the hotel has mentioned a non ac room specifically in their listing as non ac and if other rooms do not have non ac written, obviously I assumed that it is ac. For which, what does your customer “care” guy replied to me, that I should have checked before booking and double checked with the hotel. That guy was a fool, I would request you to spot such a rotten tomato from your group and throw him in some dubtin, because I have never heard such a stupid answer. All he could do is to put my call on hold forever and he is gone. COWARD. He also mentioned that goibibo does not have any control or liability for such instance, as the hotel does the listing directly. If this is the case, then why should I book through goibibo? You do not have any liability, you cannot solve my query, you cannot take some action against such fraudulent listings, on top of it you are telling me that I should have confirmed it before booking. The hotel reception guy also confirmed that these cases are a daily routine at their hotel. The hotel has done it purposely to mislead the customer. Whereas the non ac same category room is listed for half the price on goibibo. And this room being non ac just not mentioned has double price. RIDICULOUS service. You people should be ashamed of calling yourself as a customer care people.

I stayed at this hotel when I went for my friend wedding recently.I didn’t booked the hotel online as my friend suggested that you can walk in and book. The experience was not so good rooms were stinky, washroom was not hygienic. Bedsheets and blankets were full of dirt and stinky, The worst part was as soon as I entered into room it was smelling like someone had alcohol the whole night before we got into that room. It wasn’t a pleasant stay there. Check before you book.. Thanks Tushar Pathak

If you are an early riser the Ghats are walkable before unholy bedlam starts with the street traffic. Unpretentious hotel. Simple breakfast included and a nearby beer/liqour shop. Had a serious problem at the hotel when I asked for laundry. The items had not been rinsed properly and the detergent gave my skin serious irritation. Avoid laundry!
