Animating Fort Rampura is Keshavendra Singh, grandson of the last Rajah and a modern 'rajah' himself, in every way. When you visit, he is there for you, full of good talk, happy to show you around his district, presiding over wonderful meals, and including you as he directs the many enterprises that make his restoration of the Fort possible. You...

Staying at Fort Rampura is unique and wonderful, and well worth the effort of getting there. It is a beautiful, romantically-crumbling palace, far off the beaten track, in a rural setting of villages, fields and dusty ravines, where dacoits once, not so many years ago, lay in ambush. Although it is crumbling, the hosts, Keshu and Padmini, do their very...

This place is really a once in a lifetime stay. I saw pictures online and was expecting it to be beautiful, but I was not expecting such wonderful hospitality and such a unique experience. Keshu was an amazing host and just all around incredible guy. He planned everything- all our entertainment- from having his driver take us into the village...

This being the 5th trip to India, we wanted to explore some places off the beaten track and more rural in nature. So, with some research we settled on the Fort at Rampura. This was the most incredible place to stay, it is called a home stay, but with the hosts Keshu and Padmini it should be called a "family...

We stayed here for 2 nights in the gorgeous breezy room on the terrace. Our kids (aged 14, 12 and 3) loved exploring the fort and its unforgettable antiques. Fort Rampura is quite an unusual place and totally off the tourist trail. Padmini and Keshu are super gracious, kind and take such effort in making sure that you are having...

We stayed at Fort Rampura in November 2014, as part of a three week visit to India, which also encompassed, Delhi, Agra, Cochin and Munnar in the High Range, Kerala. We had reviewed Fort Rampura online before the visit, but nothing had prepared us for the absolute splendour and ancient majesty of the old fort and its history. The 800...

Sadly my visit was all too brief, I enjoyed a tour of the residential fort and morning tea. Fort Rampura is fascinating. A living and working residence , home to the 14th generation of the Samar Singh family. Currently home to Padmini Singh grandson of the last Raja. The homestay rooms looked most confortable with wonderful views over the small...
