I thought that this place was great! We stayed here for one night only. It war a wonderful budget stay in the heart of Agra near Tajmahal .mr rishikesh general manager and Rahul manager was very friendly he helped with all my questions and gave a lot of recommendations about the places to visit. inside the hotel parking facilities was very good ,and lift was new ,I appreciate a lot. This is the highly recommended place to stay in Agra!

I stayed one night in Agra and the the Chanakya hotel. I arrived very late in the night and they welcomed me very fiendly, especially Rahul Sharma. He gave me advices how to get around in Agra and was an overall helpful gal. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a value hotel for little money.

We(5 ppl) were riding from Kanyakumari to Kashmir... Stayed in this hotel when visited agra... This was the worst hotel among the 20 hotels we stayed in (20 nights)!! Filthiest hotel... No proper hot water as well.... Pan Masala spit on every wall of the hotel! Ugliest bathroom and toilet. Toilet smell all over! When asked to manager, he told he has given us delux room (Upgrade) from standard room which we had booked!! If this was the case of Delux room then god save ppl in standard room! Cleaning guy himself was chewing pan masala at work and spitting on the walls! Worst thing is, this hotel is listed with youth hostel as well! Cannot understand how!

During my recent visit to Agra with my family, we have stayed at Chanakya hotel, though its a budget category hotel but the new management very much focused about services. Mr Rishkesh ji GM of Hotel is a very nice guy, very much co operative and caring person... his gesture of service is really outstanding, he used to stay whole night if there is any group movement, his personalized service is highly appreciable. First I was annoyed about reviews... but my experience is total different as the New management has started renovation... lots of repairing work is going on... I am highly recommending this property for group movements, Educational trips, family trips and get together..

Without doubt, this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was SO bad that we had to laugh. The rooms were old and tired. The lift was riddled with corrosion. The plumbing system was unbelievable. It seems that hot water was only available in the duty manager's room. We had no water at all in our first room. We booked breakfast at 7.00 am but the only member of staff was the night watchman. Stay here if you have a perverse sense of humour. Otherwise, keep on driving!

The hotel has good reception area. Lift is small and cannot accommodate more than 3 persons. Half of the time, the AC was not working for any of the rooms. It became extremely uncomfortable in the sweltering weather of Agra. Ac is not equipped with remote heck it did not have a control panel to control the temperature. We had taken 3 rooms and in one of the room, the water was overflowing from the washroom. Not a very good experience and would not recommend to anyone.

i did a biggest mistake of my life by not believing on online bad reviews about this horrible hotel..be aware some websites are still showing only good reviews that may confuse u..wrong decision spoiled my whole agra trip..all rooms are stinky that ll give u feel of entering in a public toilet..many toilets were choked with faeces in it...room service was very poor.intercom, tv, ac not working..as according to them there is no use of AC in winter season..no hot water facility in jan morning hours..they put stained bedsheets and provide dirty blankets..bathrooms are so unhygienic with bad smell and black floors..like they have not been cleaned properly for many years..after i requested them to clean, they cleaned it with only water. and cleaning also could not stop d bad smell..rooms were stinking because of dirty washrooms..very soon i started feeling nauseating and vomited..could not dare to stay there and decided to leave this hotel with promise of total refund..now not getting troubled for my refund as hotel want to gain benefit for providing pathetic "so called" executive ac rooms. would never recommend this hotel to anyone…

The reception area is the first clue that this hotel should be avoided full of smoke and paint falling off the walls. The room itself smelt off damp as soon as we walked in so strong in fact that staying in the room for longer than 15 minutes gives you a cough. Having a dirty room isn't even that bad but when it endangers your health it becomes too much to bear curtain rails falling off mould dripping from above the shower head would never wish it upon my worst enemy
