This was my 2nd visit to the property and it's a pleasure to stay there. The staff is hospitable and warm. The general manager Ms. Tara Sura is an asset to the property. It's amazing how hospitable she is. I will def visit again.

This has an impressive old building and attractive grounds. It is a bit of a journey from the main tourist slights in Agra and will require a lengthy taxi trip to the Taj - not welcome if you plan to visit at dawn! The lawns are very pleasant to sit in, especially with a drink, though the traffic noise is...

The Grand Imperial has all that is required of a great hotel... It has heritage value... Awesome furniture and fittings... Not too bad a location...Motivated and helpful staff but not so delicious food... The food is really not up to mark... Breads are very bad...Old TV Sets... Old phones... They should really do good consulting and I am sure it...

A lovely old colonial style hotel with traditional rooms with antique furniture. Very personal service from the staff who really couldn't do enough for us. We had booked a standard room but quickly upgraded to a suite on the ground floor as it had a back door which led straight to the pool. It was well worth the extra cost....

I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Agra, Taj Mahal, etc. and had an excellent experience for an excellent off season price of only Rs3,000 per night. The rooms and grounds are beautiful, with old charm and colonial Indian design throughout. The rooms are very spacious and clean; bathrooms are modern; beds and linen are soft and comfortable, like...

Looked like a small palace with a nice garden and pool. My daughter and husband enjoyed a quick dip and even the restaurant was very nice! We really enjoyed it there. Personal was very friendly and they blended in the decor, not disturbing guests who were looking for some quiet time.

Food was very good. Ambiance was very good, Staff is very very co-operative, the hotel is in the center of the city. Near to all location. Just little suggestion to the management to add complementary dinner & free pickup service from airport or railway station. It does not cost much to management, rather very helpful to maintain the level of...

We stayed a couple nights in a standard room of the grand impérial. The room and bathroom were stunning. However, we were highly disappointed by the ovrerall service level of the hotel. The restaurant is way overpriced for the service and the quality of food on offer, not to mention the poor atmosphere of the dinning room with only one...

We landed in Agra on business trip without any booking. We just chanced upon this place on the M.G. Road. Saw the sign outside and just honked at the gate. The guard opened the gate and we entered. I asked my junior team member, Sagar, to quickly ask the tariff and have a dekko while i made a few calls...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
THE GRAND IMPERIAL AGRA The Grand Imperial is the only Heritage hotel in Agra, and takes you into a world of Victorian Era. The wide arches and the red Lahori brick walls are a blend of Colonial and Mughal architecture. The Grand Imperial offers enough history to keep guests engrossed for days on end. There are special rooms, old mementos, photographs and macho stories of courage and velour that can be recounted over and over again. Located in the heart of the city of Agra, the hot seat of the Mughal Empire, the 100 year old Grand Imperial is constructed of biscuit bricks commonly referred to as Lahori bricks, which were also used in the construction of the world renowned monument of love - The Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. Post World War II the Imperial Hotel, as was then known, played host to distinguished guests such as the crown princes of England and Japan, Prince Aga Khan, Shri Moti Lal Nehru, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Jai Prakash Narayan and renowned cinema personalities such as Dilip Kumar, Madhubala and others. Its 16 chambers of princess rooms and 14 deluxe rooms are a blend of the new modern comforts with old Heritage ambience. The property consists of old heritage, Victorian style arches, rooms with large areas and ceilings, wide corridors and spacious verandahs, open gardens, etc. Enjoy the Victorian-Mughal Era, in the bar, with its array of excellent wines, and beers. The multi-cuisine restaurant, bar, health club, spa, and lush lawns, makes your stay memorable. ... more   less
