This hotel is everything I expected and more, from the time we arrived to leaving the staff were excellent especially Shabiya who showed us around the hotel and was always available with a smile and greetings and advice, the hotel itself is like being in india over a century ago, the rooms were fabulous old world and the hotel upgraded our rooms for us to the larger suites for free, the beds were very comfortable, the pool area and gardens are very quiet and relaxing and the breakfast has everything you need with plenty of staff to assist, you will find small issues with the hotel like water pressure in the shower but you come to accept any minor problems due to the hotel being 150 years old,it's part of the character of the hotel,it's in a good location In the city, overall it was a fantastic place to stay and really memorable.

They had good service, but the room was a little rundown and awkwardly designed. The premises were not as nice as I expected, which is okay for how fast of a stay I had. I wouldn't want to stay longer. Watch out for monkeys, they will come through your windows!

Hotel's staff were super friendly and helpful. Always welcoming and happy to help. The complentary schedule of hotel for entertainment was really fun and made the life easier as it could be difficult to find plans like traditional dance, pupet show and henna work easy and quickly in a few step of your bedroom. There were some points for improvement of the quality of stay that hopefully management would consider. The rooms washroom could have had more facilities such as enough shampoo and lotion, hair conditioner and hair dryer were also considerably missing.

Despite a mix up over car arrangements with reception before we arrived and an initially slightly institutional feel we really warmed to the Grand Imperial. Huge room & bathroom with absurdly large bath. Sheets had a slight aroma of Cif but the room was clean & polished. But what really won us over was lovely service in the restaurant. Arriving off a night train late morning tired and hungry we ordered breakfast. The following morning at breakfast - a huge good quality choice - Pradeep remembered each of our four hot brown drinks - coffees, chai & black yra- orders from the previous day. So shout out to Pradeep. A lawn & pool offer welcome retreat from the busy road outside. It’s all spacious and great base for the Taj Mahal - which can just be glimpsed from the roof.

First impression of the hotel was nice in its day must of been a very good stay. Now the rooms are very tired and in need of an upgrade.January was winter time but the hotel did not cater for this as we asked for an extra heater to be told by reception no you cannot as the electricity may cut out.The pool was cold so could not swim, the restaurant was cold so kept a jumper on but the food was good.Would not recommend the treatment room in spa as the staff need a lot more training and she did not take her coat off while doing the massage because the room was so cold but was quite pushy for a tip.The hotel is not in a good location nothing to do for tourists.

We stayed for one night in Feb 24.Initial impression seems OK - the building does look impressive. However, the key issues for us were the lack of hygiene, lack of ongoing housekeeping and the lack of constant hot water for the shower and very slow recovery of cold water for the toilet. Whilst the property is old and this gives it an abundance of charm, there is no excuse for poor cleaning standards everywhere - from dirty tables on the lawn full of people’s debris to grubby floors in the bedroom and shower to the dirty tablecloths and fingerprint smothered door glass in the restaurant. Why is no-one tending to this? It’s as if there is no management overseeing anything as there appeared to be plenty of staff, but clearly no-one with any interest. That said,we did eat in the restaurant and the meal was perfectly fine.

A beautiful location with incredible amenities. Lots of heritage and the staff are so friendly! Was welcomed by Shabiya and given a full tour of the space. I saw a puppet show there, sat by the pool, had a great breakfast, got a henna tattoo and enjoyed a relaxing evening. I would definitely come stay again! Incredible customer service from the whole staff! Lots of attention to detail - really appreciate it as a single female tourist!
