Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the Taj Castle Home Stay during our 2 months trip in India and we found it perfect for our 3 days stay in Agra. It's location half way between the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort makes it perfect for sightseeing, you will need a tuk-tuk or taxi to easily reach the different monuments as they are not so close to each other. My girlfriend had a fractured foot in those days and the owner made everything possible to let us feel comfortable and relaxed. He allowed for an early check in, he gave us a bigger room at ground floor at no extra charge, he prepared us delicious food, he kept our luggage on the last day. We also had the chance to spend some quality time chatting with him in the reception area, sharing our views and learning from each other about what was going on in India and Europe. We felt very comfortable at this homestay and it was a pleasure to meet the whole family. The area is safe and quiet also at night and there are bars and restaurants a short drive (or walk) away. Last but not least...on our first day we dropped a small bag with our passports at a restaurant...the owner immediately drove me back with his motorbike and luckily enough we were able to find them again! he saved our trip! My only regret is not having been able to write a review on time on Booking.com...they truly deserved 10 stars! We asked many times to Booking.com but they didn't allow us so please let us know if you know a way! I wish you all the best for the future and best of luck for your daughter! I will definitely recommend this homestay to friends and other travellers!

I stayed at this Homestay as part of a 4 month holiday in India.
The room, Deluxe Double, exceeded my expectations and was comparable to some of the 4 star hotels I have stayed in!
Faiz the owner is very helpful arranging transport and giving plenty of advice and useful information.
All in all an excellent 4 nights stay.

We were very well received, the location is good, the prices are reasonable. The owner was very kind and helped me when I couldn't get cash from any ATM. He took me on his scooter and helped to got the money at a reasonable price. Then he called his friend’s taxi and we went from Agra to Delhi...

Located in a side street that connects Agra Fort with the Taj Mahal, so beautiful location, with an open sewer also flowing in front of the hotel.
Very kind owner who helps you where possible: but that's where the positive aspect ends.
Dirty room and bathroom with humidity seeping from the walls, smell of humidity, and one evening the smell of grilled fish throughout the entire structure.
Heating with heater paid for at 300 IR per day per room, but it was there.
Basic breakfast, taken in the cold in the lounge on the first floor at outside temperature, as there is no heating (around 7-8°).
Welcomed by the owner on the first evening who provided us with a clean bathroom, the sister was rude and showed us a filthy squat toilet when we had to leave without toilet paper.
Beautiful structure in itself, but totally poorly maintained.

The hot water didn’t work as promised by the owner Mo. faiz. When he did finally manage to get it going, the adjustment required in the controls is very sensitive and nearly burnt myself trying to take a shower. The room was freezing cold, when raised with the owner, he tried to charge me for a useless electric heater in the room. The beds were not made daily and had to ask for soap bar for the bathroom. I tried getting the owner to arrange some train tickets with his friend, for which I was charged an extra 200 per ticket, then discovered on the train that he had booked me on the wrong destination city, which caused huge issues. The owner is very much a ‘Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ kind of a character. Be very wary fellow traveller, he seems nice on the outside, but on the inside he is really out to get your money. After writing this review about him, he tried insulting me on WhatsApp lol 😂..that’s customer service for you.

I think I have written already a review, but since it was deleted I write it again.
It is a simple hostel in a shabby quiet neighborhood. There is no garden. Outside it is rather dirty.
The room was spacious, but rather simple and with no charm.
Price was okay. They were flexible for an early checkin, but were then invoicing me two nights of heater instead of one - I think it was additional 300 rupies for heater (it was pretty cold in January).
I grade my rating down since I feel that this hotel is highly overrated. I don’t know why….???

7th Jan 2020 stayed at The Taj Castle Homestay, luckily only for 1 night. The room was awful, where are the rooms they put on their site ? Certainly not there. It was damp, bedding felt and was damp, bathroom floor was wet and didn't dry out. No TV, owner said box was being repaired, No kettle, No hairdryer, No complimentary water, nobody asking if we were ok. We did not eat there in the evening so cannot comment on the food but prices are much higher than everywhere else we have stayed. There was a heater system for the hot water, didn't work, waited 15 min warm up time and water was icy cold. Breakfast was a joke, beyond poor. The worst we have ever had. We are English travelling with our Goan friends. We are in our 60's, friends in late 30's and do not appreciate being ripped off. Owners brother came up to talk outside and all he had to say was to ask how to meet English girls !! Only part of this stay that was good was feeding monkeys on the rooftop. Just avoid it. It is dirty too and obstacles left on the stairs dangerous. It really is THAT BAD.
Booked Golden Triangle trip from UK for 2 couples 2 nights. First stop Delhi - The Prime Balaji Deluxe, very good, amazing breakfast, good room. Now in Jaipur Nahargarh Haveli Hotel, fantastic.
All 3 accommodation bookings were around the same price but Agra if we come again we will definitely NOT be staying at the Taj Castle Homestay.

I booked a room today from Oyo ref no. XJCD0898 to Hotel Areeba / Taj castle at ₹3k approx .I had my wife and 6 month old baby and brother in law and his wife with me. We reached to drive from Faridabad to Agra. Talk to the manager in the hotel areeba at reception about your booking. the manager has clearly refused the booking by giving. I have told him I have family with us and a small infant. But he didn't hair anything. If you don't want to be disturbed like me then please don't book this hotel. Very rude manager and terrible day.

Excellent location halfway between the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. Large and modern rooms. Faiz speaks perfect English and is very hospitable. It's not in a messy area so you sleep well at night and it's safe.

My best friend and I arrived at night after a very long drive from Rishikesh. We had reservations booked and the kind owner showed us to our rooms which were very clean, beautiful and spacious. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a very clean hotel that is close to the Taj Mahal. Also their prices per night are affordable as well. I had an extraordinary trip as it was my first time in India. I wish the hotel much prosperity and longevity!

Hi, this will be in reference to taxi services the homestay is able to arrange on your behalf.
If it's something you need, just get in touch with them and they'll be able to advise on your requirement.
They booked a taxi for my partner and I from Agra to Jaipur for a very reasonable rate.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
