For many years, I had dreamed of visiting India - & my dream came true in the fall of 2019! A close, longtime friend of mine & I, embarked on a month-long first-timers’ trip to many iconic Indian destinations from Mumbai to Rishikesh, mostly in the state of Rajasthan, with the ‘cherry on top’ of the journey being Agra’s Taj Mahal. With this backdrop, we met many wonderful people, especially Sandeep Solanki of Indian Homestay (Agra). With his experience, skill & knowledge in & of the travel industry, he highlighted his city for us, making Agra memorable for more than a world-famous monument - We enjoyed a scrumptious feast at a local restaurant & danced the night away at a great nearby club, both of his recommendation. We met Sandeep by way of his good friend, who is also in the travel industry & managed the nice hotel where we stayed, having booked it in advance without yet knowing of Indian Homestay (Agra) - Now, after having seen how lovely it is, I would wish to experience staying there, & recommend it, as well as Sandeep as an expert in travel, of his city & country in particular, as well as for his fun vibe, sense of humor & friendship - Being a passionate member of Agra Enfielders motorcycle club, he thrilled me with a brief ride showcasing more of his city. I hope to return again to Agra someday soon... There is more I’d like to explore.

Great cooking demonstration by our lovely host Asha. We watched and participated in the preparation of a traditional Northern Indian meal, and then sat down with Asha to enjoy it. She gave us an insight into her daily life in Agra and the aspirations she has for her family. This was organised as part of our tour with Odynovo, we weren’t that sure about going at first but so pleased we did!

The room and food are excellent and safe but what really made Indian home stay the best place we stayed in our whole trip to India was our host and his family. Sandeep is a truly incredible person who will get you to the best sites, safaris, and foods at the best price and at the best time to enjoy them. He is so knowledgeable of all the secret spots and things to do, not just in Agra but all of India. When we left he helped us plan and book the rest of our trip in India and never asked for anything in return. He genuinely just wants people to be happy and have a good time and will not nickel and dime you like so many other places will. Him and his family were so warm, thoughtful and generous with us it was really hard to leave as we felt so close to them. You will not find a better experience in India than coming here!

Watching Asha make Marsala Chai was so interesting, but tasting it was wonderful! Chatting about Indian culture and family life while Asha cooked, and then sharing lunch was an experience not to be missed. Odynovo includes this activity in its Golden Triangle tour.

Booked two adjacent double-bed rooms via booking.com a fortnight in advance. Owner/manager very obligingly answered phone or called back whenever we contacted from on the way. Large, clean, quiet rooms with all essential facilities and huge beds: can easily accommodate three. Top-floor windows look out on a little park. Room-facing terrace with cooking and washing facilities if needed. Owner Sandip (along with wife Asha - thank you, ma'am) was most welcoming and helpful. Sandip is friendly and gregarious, an avid biker who will be glad to chat whenever he has time on his hands. Even the staff is most obliging. Gave us free breakfast, though that was not promised on the website. Would love to stay here for several days at a stretch next time.

I have to say thank you to Asha and Sandeep (the owners of the homestay) and also to the rest of the family and staff. They made my visit to Agra just perfect! But to the facts: -very clean rooms with hot water and nice interior and enough toilet paper:) -fresh Masala Chai to drink -possibilities to do sport/yoga/whatever on the rooftop, using a washing machine, having breakfast/lunch/diner, having a cooking class etc.... -super helpful owners, who love to help you -great english language skills and a lot of useful tips for any task -near Taj Mahal ... If i will come back to Agra, there’s only this place to stay in. I even booked another night to stay there. If i wouldn’t have been in i hurry to see some other places, i could have stayed there forever. My review sounds a little bit like an advert but i highly recommend this nice place.
