This Hotel is definitely best in Ooty, as I am staying here for the last 9 years when ever I visit Ooty. I have recently stayed here during 10-11th Jan 2016 and with the same revelling experience one more time. We paid around Rs 1000 per Room per night for two nights. Rooms were amazingly spacious with very good ambience and service. The connected restaurant has delicious south Indian dishes and we enjoyed our food there, though rates are a bit higher. Overall, I would definitely rate this hotel as one of the best hotels in Ooty. One can happily stay here without any doubts. Believe me guys, you won't get disappointed.

I liked this Hotel because this is situated at busy area of Ooty. One can eat and shop here at anytime up to 10.30 pm. Also room service was excellent. When I phoned for hot water, two-three men instantly came and ascertained the situation. Rates are little bit higher, should lower it. Hot water is extended up to 12 noon only which is a demerit. At that time the hotel lift was not working so we had to climb all the stairs up to second floor, they charge much but the lift was not working, they should fix this problem. If you have naughty children then this place is very good, for they can see the city from their room. Room with roadside are very good. Stayed here in room no.207 on 16 to 18th April. From here one see the Govt Rose Garden across the road. Also Botanical Garden which is the soul of Ooty is 5 minutes walk from this place. But people who love seclusion this place is not ideal. For couples this place is just OK.The hotel have their own restaurant, but I did not get in.Hotel offer nothing complimentary. Also daily you are given a separate copy of newspaper of your choice FOC. This I liked. Room service is very good, they come and keep things in order. The staff did not demand any tip, thought I gave it to some of them as I liked the service. The check out time is 12 noon and 1 grace hour is allowed unlike other hotels wherein the check out time is 11 am. I asked my wife whether to go the same hotel in future or switch over to another one, she said Hotel Durga is OK for its close proximity to the commercial district and of course good service. Prior to coming this place I had checked at Preethi Palace but not satisfied at the rooms offered. Here I found spacious, clean rooms with good location. But they must provide the lift service. I don't know if they wanted to save on electricity bills, by looking at the charges they must provide the lift service all the season a year. Else all is just with this place.

Stayed here for 5 nights with my family during Diwali Holidays. And we loved it.
Location : Located at a charring cross junction which is very central. Main market is 2 minute away .... Autos u get easily ... Taxi stand is nearby ... Botanical garden is around 10 minute walk .... So many restaurants nearby ...
Rooms : We stayed in a superior room. It was spacious and we could easily accommodate additional single bed. There not a great view but u get ample light from the big window. Toilet is big and clean. Double bed was comfortable.
Ambience : Hotel is located on the main road. So, there is bit of a noise during the day. But, very peaceful during the night.
Food : Hotel has their own restaurant on the ground flr and it serves delicious south indian food. I specially loved their idly and pongal.
Facilities : This is a budget hotel. So, there is not much to mention ... no pool, gym, wifi ... nothing. No Mini fridge, Tea Maker, safe in the room.
Service : Service is quick. Housekeeping was good. Rooms are cleaned everyday properly. Reception staff is good and helpful.
Cost : Around 1700 INR for a superior room. Best value for money.
Minus Points :
1) No heater in the room. Not available at an additional cost also.
2) Very few TV channels are available. And clarity is poor.
3) They have a small travel agency office on 1st flr .... I took their service for day trip to conoor and mudumulai. It was good. But, they overcharged me when I booked a cab from ooty to kodai. I asked for a sedan but they sent innova which is expensive. And at the last minute asked me 500 Rs extra for AC. And AC was not working. Very bad.
If u wish to enjoy ooty in a budget this is the best hotel. It was our 2nd visit to Durga and definitely will visit again.

Was charged 800 for a normal room. There is ample parking space behind the building where at least 20 cars can be parked . The rooms were just okay, towels, soap and shampoo are provided. The phone doesn't work in room 310. The bathroom was clean, If you are three people don't bother paying for extra bed, you wont take it anyway just ask the person to come up to the room from the parking lot. Overall a decent budget hotel.

When I first saw the room at hotel Durga I was quite impressed by it's size. Even the TV is 50 inch. However I soon realized that while the room is quite attractive it lacks basic amenities including hot water. So if you have traveled all day and checked in on the evening and want to take a shower, be prepared to freeze as hot water is only available from 6 to 12 in the morning. They have also scrounged on cable... So no TV unless you make a fuss. Nobody bothers to replace the towels or change the pillow covers. Maybe for that also you have to come between 6 and 12 in the morning. All in all absolutely no service given. The less said about their restaurant, the better. I hope this review will prevent others from wasting their good money like I did.

I am a frequent traveller to ooty and Durga was the place I used to stay as it is located in proper place and the room quality was good enough. But sorry to say the hotel is degrading day by day. 1. Was given smaller room for the same price range. Changed it as I knew which room quality is good 2.This time I need to argue to change used bed sheet when entered room. 3.Hotel service guys continiously poke you to take their travel cab which is irritating. 4. Now this hotel has bed bugs in bed. So for me a big No No after this trip.

I booked this hotel for my sister and uncle and the they offered a superior room. Rooms are very big facing the small hill and at the back side of the hotel.
There is no complimentary breakfast, however they have a hotel at the ground floor.
My sister didn't face any issues except the complimentary breakfast. Special thanks to franklin and the team for providing the Off season rates.
