The host here is amazing, very well spoken and filled with information but very relaxed too. We loved out stay here, and the hot showers in the morning! Would definitely recommend as its away from the hustle and bustle of the town, but still within a walking distance

After fleeing the inhospitable YWCA, I found sanctuary in Sweekar. The management, who share a wicked sense of humour, couldn't have made me feel any more welcome or been more helpful. From organising activities (eg trekking / safari etc.) to setting up a table in the sun at breakfast, they put their customers' needs first. Yes, the rooms can be...

We arrived there without a heads up and could get a room easily. The owner is really nice and very helpful; makes a good omelet too! The room was very basic, but that's exactly what you expect for such a low price! Had a lovely time at Sweekar! Location is perfect. Would definitely recommend it!

We thought this sounded great as it was so cheap. We arrived to a VERY basic room. The carpet was ripping up and the door to our room didn't close as it once did. We ordered breakfast without asking prices (our mistake). On our last day we were told that breakfast cost us the same as our room did!!! AND...

I've stayed here for like four or five times with friends. 900 INR for 4 persons in the peak season (Dec 2014) is not that bad no. This place is indeed worth the money for backpackers considering the location and other features. Though it would be better for family folks to see rooms before checking in. Click 'helpful' if you...

I had traveled during the national holidays (assumed to be peak and crowded) and still managed to get a cheap room just by calling a day before departure to Ooty. "So, call and confirm before you leave." The place is managed by an old couple, very well managed. They were quite generous and helping. This place is located at a...

The place gives a very good feeling. Old tile roofed building with a historical feel. Quiet & cool place. Basic rooms, have that old feeling to it. Hospitality was good. Value for money and good for short stays.

I think Sveekar hotel is a good option if you are on a budget but want nevertheless to stay in a charming old colonial house, with an equally charming decadence atmosphere, in a quiet location near the bus and train stations. The house is very beautiful from the outside and among a beautiful green landscape.Even the dirt path that leads there...

It's a very beautiful hotel with a great location. The staff + owner are so friendly. They will help out loads (arrange bus trips etc) and just be around for nice company. I'm very satisfied with my stay at Sweekar.

Homely feeling is what we get in this hotel. The owner and staff are quite hospitable and courteous. If you are new to the town, then you needn't worry as you get very good information of the place from the staff who go out of the way to make you homely and comfortable. The budget is quiet pocket friendly and...

“I had occupied a room for 2, so I am saying based on that experience. I haven't had a look at the other rooms, but there are bigger rooms, I guess for around 5 - 6 people in a single room. The rooms had very basic amenities 1. A bed for 2 along with blankets (extra could be provided on request) 2. Table 3. Chair 4. Hanger (mounted on wall) 5. Bucket & mug 6. Mirror Stuff you might want to take with you: - Toiletries, including soap and towel (they don't provide it). - Extra blanket, just in case.”
