Destiny - The Farm Resort is lauded for its variety of activities and top-notch amenities, appealing to both adults and children in search of relaxation and adventure. While the food is often described as delightful, some guests question the value for money. The rooms earn praise for their cleanliness and views, despite occasional maintenance issues. Service is generally warm and friendly, but not without critiques about responsiveness. Nestled in a tranquil, picturesque setting, the resort is a peaceful retreat, though access roads can be challenging, and some areas need better upkeep for cleanliness.

One of the most peaceful and celebrated vacation with family. Excellent property which will help you unwind. Lot of nature exploration for the kids.

Very helpful and supportive staff who likes to see a smile in your face. We had a very positive experience there. The operations director Meena Mam , our guide Niyas really made our days memorable by always giving us that extra care and support.

We will definitely comeback 🙂

This place is located in Avalanche, approx 1 hr drive from Ooty. If you want to be away from the hustle bustle of city and want to enjoy the real beauty of Ooty, this is the place. This place gives you the real farmstay experience. Internet connectivity is limited in the rooms, which was blessing in disguise for us as we spent time together and enjoyed the activities together which we miss on regular basis due to busy schedule.(wifi is available at reception area and you will have mobile connectivity on some specific location, so nothing to worry). My daughter enjoyed the most as she spent her time doing horse riding, walking up the hill and then down to lake, we spent some quality
time by the lake. There are many activities available which can be picked up as per your interest. Other attraction was the actual fire place in the room (not present in all type of rooms). You do not need to go out anywhere to enjoy the beauty of Ooty, this property has everything ghat you need. This is very well
maintained property with good food and service. Staff is friendly. Breakfast has options which will cater to all taste buds. Room service has some additional charges which is fair I guess as the rooms are spread across the property. If you go for A' la carte menu price is on higher side but not to worry as they have TDH (fixed menu to choose from) menu for couple which is sufficient for 2 adults and one kid and is reasonably priced in my opinion. Morning and evenings you will need woolens but days are sunny, so regular clothing is fine. Resort will help you with the epass approval to enter Tamilnadu. They follow all the safety norms. To sum it all it was a wonderful experience and real stress buster after lockdown.

This was my 2nd visit to Destiny Farms (23 Dec '19) with my husband. The last time we visited was in Feb 2014 and oh boy, the place has grown so much! A fully functional restaurant/lobby, a new block of rooms, the snack bar and the luxury rooms further away. Well, the nature surrounding the place hasn't changed a bit. It's still breath-takingly, mesmerizingly beautiful and so are the maintained horse ranches, cow stables and other farm animals. This time I spent hours just looking at the turkeys, hens and ducks chasing each other or playing together. Such cuteness! I would have given a 5*, if not for the food. The food was a total disappointment. The spread was huge but the taste wasn't. 😒 Just a request, please make sure that someone from the restaurant stands next to the salad table because I saw few travellers touching the salads with their bare hands for "touch and feel" or for serving themselves. Surprising that people who can afford such an expensive place have no etiquettes or manners. But, am sure I will come again. Cheers!

The hotel itself is located in a remote location so you have no choice other than to stay at the place and explore it. They have lots of activities, the exciting ones are chargeable!! That's the problem.. every thing is charged, even the basic heater for the room is charged. Rooms are very basic. They take you on a bumpy road from their parking to resort which is I say fun but not for elderly people! Once you are in the resort that's it no way of going out unless their vehicle is due for guest pickup else they charge for taking you to the parking! Most importantly don't book the rooms under delux and luxury tags it's just more money nothing else. Standard and supreme rooms are more than enough.

Pro:
1.Very remote place so you can stay away from city buzz and relax!
2.The staff are very warm and helpful
3.Camp fire where you get meet all the guests

Cons:
1.Expensive! Rooms!
2. Food need to improved
3.Average rooms for the price paid.
4.Staff need to be educated of the changes in general.

Dear Guest, We appreciate the time you have taken to give us this valuable review of your experience at Destiny Farm Resort. We regret that you had certain issues. We do provide maps to all our guest on the booking confirmation email. We also provide our own vehicles to ensure the guest's safety while driving through the bumpy wooded area of the forest. The transport service during check in and check out are complimentary. All our rooms provide a wonderful view of the Nilgiris. The standard rooms are a lot smaller and have a common balcony area, whereas the delux rooms are more spacious with a private balcony. We take a lot of care to provide luxury stays despite being in the middle of the Nilgiris, far away from city or town. We do host a huge list of non-chargeable activities too. Every year Destiny attracts plenty of adventure/nature travelers. We hope you will consider staying with us again.

DESTINYation for a life time experience in the misty valleys of Nilgiri . Our most awaited vacation trip truly ended in the RIGHT spot. The name says it all.. LittleEarth - Destiny. After what could be the most thrilling forest ride (which is an experience in itself ) the door to heaven opens to you .. The Untouched serenity in the form of the beautiful avalanchi lake and the misty mountains is truly a feast to the eyes. The perfectly spaced rooms with a spacious balcony and a heavenly view of the valley lets you bask in the golden silence of nature. The friendliest staff ,who are always at your beck and call, only add up to the perks of the heavenly stay! The food too, is nothing short of exceptional, right from the welcome drink which sets the tone for your tranquil retreat, to the various delicacies served in the restaurant. It was absolutely pleasant to be there , hanging around doing nothing , connecting with the valley. But the wide variety of activities with a nature’s trail , sheep feeding ( thanks to Radhika didi, a true gem of a person and a budding photographer ) followed by fishing and horse riding, provide the much needed liveliness during your stay. The resort is also home to various tiny friends; from furry little rabbits, guinea pigs, to geese, cows and glorious horses, the experience never fails to surprise you. A huge thank you to Vishal, our personal guide, the forest charioteers, housekeeping staffs for their utmost care and for never failing to entertain the kids through various activities; Manu, Dinesh and all of the other excellent restaurant staff members and of course, Vijaya, the origami teacher and to every single member of the Destiny Farm Stay team.
But of course the true potential and the beauty of the ship can never be achieved without a dynamic and compassionate captain in the form of Shanthakumar aka SK the man behind the blissful air soothing the farm.. Hats off to you SK !!

Review posted for Destiny Farms:

My group of ten people agreed for four nights stay at Destiny Farms (DF) near Ooty on suggestion and what an experience we had. DF is soooooooooo beautiful and is surrounded by hills and Emerald Lake – breath-taking, gorgeous, very scenic – actually I don’t have words to describe this beautiful place. Best part is connectivity is very poor except at the reception and WhatsApp calls are also blocked (a very thoughtful action by the management) so that one spends all the time with the group. It has many activities – both indoor and outdoor like chess, carom, horse riding, tracking, fishing etc. DF arranged a picnic for the group and supplied hot food, fresh seasonal fruits, packed juices etc. Our four nights just flew away and we did not get time to complain about poor connectivity. Rather it was blessing in disguise.
It’s being looked after by Mrs Meeta Prabhu with a very dedicated, most courteous, well trained staff and an ever smiling team of people representing almost all the Indian states (don't know how she picks them). Hussain from the administration side to Linda at the reception, chefs Subramani and Paneer, Nitin and Ranjit looking after restaurant, Bishal and Sanjay taking care of activities, Dinesh for tracking and……….a long list of very lovely people and how can I forget Shanker Nepali the watchman with a childlike smile. Rooms are very cosy and comfortable and are taken care by wonderful housekeeping staff.

It was a very memorable trip we ever had and looking forward to have another.

Wish DF all the best and they remain the same, as they are.

Destiny Farm is an experience, not just a holiday destination. Everything from the location to the food to the hospitality and activities is delightful and gratifying!

The place is spread over several acres with a comfortable choice of rooms. We stayed in the hill view room, which was ideal for us even with a young child. The activities kept our child busy and happy which was a huge plus for us. They are spread throughout the day and a minimum of 2 days is required to enjoy this. We stayed for 4 nights and that honestly didn't feel like a lot. There is ample space to walk around and be around other guests or have your privacy. The location is completely among the hills and valley so expect undulating terrain.. that said all paths are paved. The staff is very friendly, open to suggestions and genuinely wanting to help and take care of your needs. I felt safe having my child play freely even if I was not immediately around there to supervise.

Due to the activities, the place drew a fair amount of families with kids which really worked for us as my child always had some company. Sometimes we even looked after each others kids while parents got a breather.

The food is very good and there is a huge spread of vegetarian and non vegetarian food at all meals. There is also an a la carte option for those who don't want the buffet but we took the buffet mostly except for two meals. A lot of the vegetables are grown without the use of pesticides over their farmland which surrounds the property.

If you're looking for a break in a beautiful environment to recharge and refresh your mind and senses, this is the place for you. Read the website, and understand the location and type of experience to make sure it suits your expectations.

Our 3year old was crazy with Ooty and we planned this place especially for her. We travelled along with our parents as they wanted to spend time with their grand child. The road towards parking and the van ride to the resort was bumpy and not recommended for elderly. The resort welcomed us with a welcome drink and explained neatly about the daily activities. The evening tea and snacks along with games was really good.

The resort was very neatly organized and we personally enjoyed their garden walk, horse ride, night campfire and fishing activities. Our kid also had memorable time with the pets (ducks, chicken, hamsters, rabbits, sheeps) she also had a nice time in kids play area.

The rooms and bathrooms were little old. They didn't have TV. But on the brighter side, they were neatly organized and we loved the way they named our rooms over our names. The look from our balcony was really staggering to see the mountain valley.

The food was little on the costlier side but they were able to customize the food upon our needs. The morning breakfast had various options and they served hot dishes.

Overall, we would like to revisit the resort for the nice location and their ample amenities.. easily we can spend a day or two forgetting the outside world !

Location: Serene and lovely. The mountains and the lake view with a lot of greenery around is a treat for the eyes. The location is far away from the over crowded Ooty center and hence very peaceful. The final approach road from the parking to the resort maybe challenging for the very elderly and folks with back issues. Don't expect you can shuttle between Ooty center and the resort frequently. If your plan is to visit the major Ooty tourist spots, this is not the place for you. Final Rating: 4.5/5

Resort/Rooms: Very well kept and maintained. We stayed in the standard room. These rooms are luxurious with wooden/stone flooring. The entire arrangement has a touch of elegance. Rooms do not have fans, but we never felt the need as it is pleasant/cold inside the rooms. A feedback from our side would be to have a clock in the room. The resort is spread across with horse tracks, stable, dairy farm, play area, ponds, restaurant, snack zone, spa and what not!! It is equally impressive that all these facilities are well maintained. Final Rating 4.5/5

Resort Staff: Very courteous and friendly. Hospitality shown was very impressive. Final Rating 5/5.

Activities: A lot of activities are included with the package and a lot more are paid activities. All these are detailed by the staff and they send you the details on your WhatsApp as well. Final Rating 4.5/5

Restaurant/Food: The booking came with a complementary breakfast and evening high tea both of which were good. Apart from this, we felt that the food is overpriced for the quantity and quality provided. The standard buffet is Rs. 750 per head which I felt was not reasonable. The items on the menu are equally overpriced as well. We had ordered a Veg Sandwich which costed a whopping 270 bucks. The sad part was that it was just a plain 2 bread slice sandwich with mayo and a few fresh cut veggis with a little fries, which would have costed probably just over Rs. 50. This experience made us sceptical to try further items on the menu. Final Rating: 3/5

Overall Experience: Minus the overpriced food, everything else is really great. We are a family of 3 (Myself, Wife and our 1 yr kid) who really had a great time and experience. I would recommend this place for anyone who loves nature and want to spend a peaceful time away from all hustle and bustle. Personally, we would love to visit Destiny again and hopefully we make it here again!!

Our Rating: 4.3/5

The name 'Destiny' was truly living up to its name when in April 2020, I had planned to visit this place but had to cancel because of the lockdown and finally in January 2022 I finally was able to visit this place. Originally wasn't planning for Ooty but when Karnataka weekend lockdown happened I made some changes to the travel plan and that's how I was destined to visit Destiny.

This is an amazing property spread over a vast area and on the edge of a jungle and the beautiful emerald lake. The views from any part of this property are spectacular. We visited during the Pongal holidays and the way the staff organized activities and kept the guests engaged was commendable. Every evening there is a different buzz to the place with activity planned for kids and later a bonfire. Although we didn't go as we preferred staying in the cozy indoors, I'm sure it's great for the guests to experience this.

Food was good as well but there was an issue that I mentioned under improvements.

There are a couple of points where the resort can improve.

1. The type of room we stayed in, the balcony is not completely private as the neighbours can very well peek not just in our balcony but through the glass door so using curtains becomes mandatory, in such a scenic location, which is not preferable. Since we booked at the last moment, this was the only type of room available. But, it would be wrong to stay inside when staying in such a beautiful property.

2. The last 1 km approach road is a pain. When we asked, the staff/managers said that they can't lay a road because it's forest land. Unfortunately, this makes the property more suitable for those who don't suffer from back/body pains and those who are not very old. Because this 1km journey to the resort can rattle up the bones, especially when the taller pick-up vehicle (a bit like the shaktiman army vehicle) is allotted. Also, I didn't like the fact that if one wants to go out of the resort then they either have to follow the itinerary of others who are leaving/arriving so that they can tag up with them in their pick-up/drop vehicle, else there are charges if one wants to travel to and fro to the resort in their own time. While the resort was gracious enough not to charge us anything on a day when we decided to go out and explore Ooty but please clarify this upfront with the front desk and plan your visits outside the resort accordingly.

3. Food was restricted to chicken only for a couple of days. Probably supply issues but the resort should take care of this.

Overall a wonderful stay, away from the usual Ooty and crowds. Great for couples and children and group of friends. Elderly might find it challenging here, unless they are fit enough.

If you like to reach fatser, then choose the route Bangalore-Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri-Mettur-Anthiyur-Sathyamangalam-Mettupalayam-Coonoor-Ooty-Destiny Resort. If you like to travel in nature/forest, choose route Bangalore-Mysuru-Masinagudi-Ooty-Desiny Resort. Also at this situation To enter into tamilnadu as well to enter into ooty also needs e-pass.

In addition to the recreation center which has a TT table, Fusball, and other indoor games, there is a karaoke/music station next to the restaurant. The place also has a bonfire (subject to weather conditions, of course) :-)
