The heritage resort was very close to Shri Agninhwarar Temple and Thirvinagaram Shri Sowriraja Perumal Temple. The location is quite peaceful and the food is authentic south Indian. The housekeeping and Kitchen were very clean and the food was very tasty. The rooms were very clean and tidy. Good drinking water was available throughout the day. You can simply enjoy the privacy and ambience is a peaceful atmosphere. I recommend families to choose this place which is A HOME AWAY FROM HOME.

Just stayed for a night. But packed with so much. Booked at 5 pm one day before check in. Rang hotel number, was given Mr Arun's number to help organise activities. Even though he was in chennai due to family emergency, he was so organised and guided us to get the maximum out of the stay. Special mention -Manimegalai amma the cook and her daughter in law Maeji. They looked after our family like their own. My son who has never been to an Indian Village played with their kids who taught him how to spin a top[Pambaram] , went to the paddy fields, took bath in pump-set, rode a bullock cart, village walking tour meeting locals, temple tour, elephant interaction, pottery visit and hands on pottery, so much more. All within 24 hours span. Food was out of this world, so much care was taken to find out our vegetarian requirements , our likes, dislikes. Coffee proper filter kumbakonam style. Rooms 5 star quality, wifi good in dining area. Good books selection in the rooms. Swing [oonjal], courtyard, thinnai, view of temple and tank at doorstep amazing location. Planning to return with extended family soon.

What an amazing place - if you wish to experience the traditional Tamil way of life - head straight to this place! Mangala Heritage is a traditional Tamil home, set amidst rustic and idyllic Thirupugalur (rural TN). Right from the moment you step into this beautiful home, you get transported to a different world - where peace. calm and simplicity is the essence of life. With Burma teak pillars, high ceilings adorned by old teak columns, antique furniture and priceless knick-knacks and books, this is a experience seeker's paradise. Our family spent a night here and we left asking for more and with a promise to be back soon. Arun, the manager of this place, Meiji (a filipino married to a Tamilian and who is now more Tamilian than most of us Urban Tamils) along with Athai and the other staff took great care of us. Food was the icing on the cake - authentic Tamil cuisine with amazing variety and incredible taste - we were served stuff like 'Paruppu Urundai Sambar', 'Mazhiku Keerai Dosai' 'Peanut Chutney' - some of which we had never tasted before! Mangala Heritage is also close to important pilgrimage centres like Velankanni Basilica (38 kms), Thiruvarur Perumal Kovil (~ 22 kms), Nagore Dargah (~27 kms). The 6th century 'Agnipureeswarar Temple' is located right opposite Mangala Heritage and the Temple Tank adjoins the boundary wall of the house. If you request Arun, he can take you around for an early morning walk around the village to experience the traditional way of life - with women smearing the front yards with cow dung to clean them, then beautifying with neat rangolis etc. You can also take a walk around the paddy fields that dot the village. All in all, an enchanting experience that would remain etched in our memories forever!
