We had to stay in Madurai for 8 nights . We had booked 2 single rooms .the staff is very polite and always smiling . They went the extra mile to book transportations for us .The rooms are a bit small but we hardly stayed in the room. Mostly we were outside. The location is superb just 2 KM from the main town . The food is also excellent . Breakfast is included and we had a variety of dishes every morning. They also served lunch at short notice.

We went to madurai for a single day stay at madurai at The Nook. It is an excellent hotel with neat and clean rooms/bathrooms. The food was nice. The staff was very co-operative and their service was excellent. Good value for money. The good part is they do not charge any payment for pre-booking. It is very near to railway station( pf 7 side). It is short distant to meenakshi temple etc and othe tourist attractions in the city and one can easily commute in auto.

The room we stayed in was very nice. Clean, and a nice bathroom. The shower was strong and had ample hot water. A/c and fan worked well. All the staff downstairs were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. One morning I had Indian breakfast, which was very good. And second morning had western breakfast, which also was good. The restaurant on the top floor is a nice setting. At first, I thought that the location might be far from the temple, but actually that was a good thing. It isn't far and it's good to be away from the insanity of inner Madurai. Wi-Fi was very good.

Very disappointed!Hotel is facing a cemetery. I couldn't even open my room window cos of the view of the cemetery and alot of mosquitoes. The only good thing was the water heater which was very hot. They have a restaurant at level 4 but their services are very slow. I waited for my food till I fall asleep. Not recommended at all.

Book directly with the hotel, 15% cheaper. booking.com charges more and doesn’t come with breakfast most times. check well.

Staff were superb. Went extra mile to please. Wish they can keep the hotel clean.
Food was great.
Sheets and toilets dirty.

For a hotel so young, just 4-5 years it’s not clean. Paid 3000/- plus. Little more I would have stayed at the TAJ.

Nearer to Madurai Meenakshi temple and bus stop and railway station. Take ola autos. Cheaper than bargain ones.

Food food food awesome. They have a good chef and he cooks so well. Must go just to eat the food.

Seen here

1. The staff
2. Amala the manager
3. Amala and he chef.
4.yummy food.
5. Meenakshi temple.
6. Kalai selvan auto driver. Also has his car. Will update his number here later.
7. Elephant Parvathi in Meenakshi temple. Blessed me
8. Kisses me.
9. We part ways.
10. Meenakshi temple.
11. Soap was not ok. I felt it was a used one. But they opened a new pack and showed me even then I was not convinced.

Overall. Good stay. But won’t go to the hotel again. Not clean at all.

I've booked one of the top hotels listed "THE NOOK" and it's been a pathetic experience. Very small room for 3 guests and I had infants, and room had lot of mosquitoes, spiders and had to get insect killing bat for protecting my kids.

Also, the bathroom condition is pathetic and there has been some construction work going on. But overall experience has NOT BEEN GOOD and wnder how someone can book this hotel for a stay.

STRICTLY NO-NO HOTEL for families!!

Clean smart rooms with excellent facilities. Courteous efficient staff and a really good restuarant. Very good prices. A km or so from the centre on a rather noisy road but then most are. A model for others. I would strongly recommend.

Modern, tasteful and clean hotel. The staff is helpful and friendly. We arrived very early by train and they checked us in early.
The complimentary South Indian breakfast is generous, very tasty and served in the rooftop restaurant. The hotel is not situated in the hectic city centre but close to the railway station (shortcut through the postal colony).
Important note for history lovers: the Gandhi museum is closed on government holidays (including Good Friday).

The Nook seems very new. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staff is very helpful and went out of their way to help me. It's a short ride to the main temple, and it's close to the main bus station. I recommend it.

I stayed at "The Hotel Nook". It was family trip with mom, sis, nephew to Madurai for offering prayers to goddess Meenakshi. Room is just fine with really good shower and toilet which I appreciate in a hotel. However I was disappointed to find a graveyard opposite to the hotel as I was given the room facing the road and there is graveyard when you look through your window. I was harassed by the reception fellow during check-in. I find the attitude very poor ill treating the guest. I realized he is not the exception and his colleague who was present at the reception during check-out beats him with his worst possible behavior. He was not ready to listen. He was not ready to check with his colleague who was present during check-in. I had to literally spend my entire energy to get my check-out receipt.

We ordered room service during our stay and it took almost an hour which I understand the preparation might take a while. When the food was finally served to our room I requested for additional plate. He assured me he will get it to our room in 5 minutes. We kept waiting for 30 minutes and I called to the restaurant and got an assurance that they will send it but we waited for another 20 minutes. Finally I called the reception in the night to prepare my bills as they have no interest in serving me and I don't have all the time in the world to wait for their service. In 2 minutes we got our plates and I understood they had the potter make our special plate in an hours time and got it sent to our room to our surprise :)...

I do not recommend this hotel for anyone who is skeptic about having their rooms overlooking grave yard which gives an eerie feeling in the night. I find that the room rent of 3300Rs per night inclusive of taxes in really exorbitant for this very small property when we could avail a large spacious luxury hotel with bar attached for the same tariff in fine locality and huge space. I recommend "Hotel Weshtern Park" or "Hotel Germanium" or "Fortune Pandya" or "GRT" that
has good spacious rooms with excellent choice of locality and decent hospitality.

Please do not make the wrong choice like me and loose your face with your near and dear ones!!! I want every penny spend to assure me and my near ones the comfort and peace of mind which I failed during my stay at this place.

If you have strong heart to have you and your family face the graveyard and can put up with awkward customer service it is the best place to stay!!!
