My wife and I found this gracious place with a character! A chef par excellence who prepared delicious meals customized to our individual tastes. Completely organic and freshly made - just need to order one meal-time ahead! The quaint old fire-places are sadly no longer usable, to comply with safety requirements,.The entire facility has been updated with modern appliances and free wi-fi which is a blessing, these days. If you are lucky, you get to see a family of bison grazing at a lower level. There are also nocturnal visits by deer and bears. Wild boars also pass by!. Security is excellent with guards and video surveillance around the clock. The manager takes personal interest and works extended hours to ensure guest satisfaction in great detail. Altogether, a great, value-added customer experience!

Good for a family's trip at budget. Nearer to busy places. One can save on auto or car rentals. Old place but maintained well. Bedding though elementary, it is kept clean. Parking too is fine. Place for children to play. Not very busy place hence safety is also not a concern.

This is a place with basic facilities.. but spacious rooms. Its about 1km from main road. Walking in the night from the main road to YWCA is not advisable due to poor lighting on the roads. Currently the access road to the building is in bad shape. Hot water supply is only at certain times..! There is tremendous scope for improvement of the facilities.

It is located at the uphill close to Coonoor bus station. Walkable distance but during night better to get a cab or rickshaw if you are not on own vehicle. They have decent parking space. It is Guest House, don't expect too much. It is a well maintained very old bungalow with different sizes of rooms. We had booked one room for three person but they provided one single room and double room. Rooms are clean. Good for a night stay. The staff is friendly. They have restaurant for basic foods. But need to pre-order. They cook homely food.

I booked this in the peak holiday season with a week remaining for my trip to Coonoor. I was apprehensive about getting confirmation. But I did get!! As we would reach early in morning, I called up 2 days before the start of the trip to request for early check-in. My request was obliged. YWCA Wyoming coonoor is situated at the uphill from the city bus stand. The building is maintained well and the rooms are clean and tidy. The staff is very courteous. They have a small restaurant where we can get food too, but need to pre-order. They cook fresh and the taste was homely. They dont have a lot of option for food but it is satiating enough.

I stayed at YWCA Wyoming at Upper Coonoor from the 5th to the 10th of September, 2018. The place is quiet and peaceful. There are single rooms, double rooms. and two dormitories with about 8 beds each in a beautiful period building. Food is available if ordered before hand, but it is nothing to write home about. The rooms are neat and clean, and so is the linen. Water heaters are available in each room. Room rents are reasonable. I paid Rs.1,900/- per day for a double room. Be careful if you are going in or coming out of the hotel on foot at night (after about 7 p.m.). Gaur have been sighted on the approach road, and they could be dangerous if startled.

I stayed in Wyoming for 4 nights and had a mixed experience. The location is great, high above the busy town and the building has been well msintained. The manager is very professional and welcoming. If you need to checkout or need any information please do this when he is there as the other staff are not equipped to do this. I ordered dinner the first night and it did not arrive until around 9pm, plus it was average food, so ate out for the rest of my stay. The room was comfortable but the hot water goes off in the evening. If you warm the water up in the morning it is warm enough to have a wash in the evening. Wifi also goes off at night and only works if you sit in the office. If you are in a downstairs room you may be disturbed by late arriving guests. Also staff had loud long conversations in the evening which was annoying if you want to read and relax. Note that macaque monkeys wil come up the stairs and enter your room if you leave the door open. Sugsr attracts them so if you are sitting outside having a cup of tea avoid having sugar on the side. Easy to walk to Bedford or down the hill to Coonoor town, railway station, Sims park etc

We stayed for three nights, given a deluxe room with en suite. Good hot water supply and ample space in room. Breakfast and dinner tasty enough but we weren't offered a menu and prices. So we had to guess and make up the dishes we wanted. Otherwise, tucked away from traffic noise. A pedestrian lane(though some motorcycle use it) to the right of the hostel's entrance leads you to lower Coonoor. If keen on Dolphin's Nose on a budget bus leaves every 2 hours from lower Coonoor bus stand for 11 rupees per person, same timings on way back. Take the bus, enjoyable views.
