Nelson the manager is extremely busy to meet customers ...no customer experience and was an horrible experience going to this place ...basically due to the attitude of the manager. The property seems good and you can try if the manager becomes friendly :)
Hills, misty evenings, hot cup of tea, sound of nature and lots of peace.. These are a few of my favourite things and getting all these under one roof of Teanest Annexe felt just amazing. If you are looking for a stay in a private cottage by the hills and above the clouds all by yourself, then this definitely can be your next destination. You won't regret it as this is a hot spot and a must visit place. Teanest Annexe is situated in Coonoor hills, in the middle of Singara Estate spread across 1300 acres, surrounded by hills and dense forest. It's about 21km drive from OOTY (40min) and 35km from Mettupalayam (90 min). You can drive your vehicle right up till the cottage and park it inside the designated parking lot. You can book both rooms to get the entire place for yourself. What went well - I reached Teanest Annexe along with my wife and my pet (Beagle) around 2pm from Bangalore, check-in was smooth, basil tea as a welcome drink (BTW we lost the count of basil teas we have had during our stay), spacious room with attached bathroom, 24/7 hot water, tea kettle, bath towels, toiletries, very clean and well maintained rooms. There were flowers kept in the room which were plucked from the garden and everything smelled good throughout. The staff is very welcoming, extra care and attention was given at all times. Special mention: GM Nature's Resort - Mr. Jyothish / Staff - Binal, Nikhil & Manu / Chef - Guruji (all very down to earth folks). The staff will accompany you for a natures trail (must try) which will take an hour and half. You will easily spot Bisons and 80+ varieties of wild birds. Food is mouthwatering irrespective of whether you are a vegetarian or a non vegetarian. The chef (Guruji) is an amazing cook and will tickle your taste buds whether it is South Indian, North Indian, continental or Chinese. He is an all rounder. The food is prepared only after one orders, so it can be served hot in the dining area. You can order off the menu and he will make it if its available. The chef, his wife, talented Nikhil (manager) and the most humble guy (Manu) stays in the premises. Please do visit Teanest main property which is stone thrown away from Annexe and try their unique "Tea Lunch" (hint- both veg/non veg 7 course menu is prepared in tea). We both went bonkers as each course felt out of the world. View: Nature at its best, surrounded by hills with tea plantation and lush green forest as far as your eyes can see. There is a big valley in between the hills and you can see Mettupalayam city lights like a bed of fallen stars down below. This place is at an altitude of 6,100 ft above sea level, so you will get to see the clouds all around your cottage covering the hills and valley. You get to see a beautiful sunrise, clear sky during the day and fog sets by early evening. There is a lawn right in the front and the view is mesmerising from all sides. We use to sip basil tea seeing this picturesque view. You will never want to go for any sight seeing as its a beauty in itself and I bet that you would want to extend your stay. This place can be used as a home away from home, a staycation or WFH as there is a high speed WiFi. What didn't go well - tbh, I couldn't extend my stay beyond a week as cottage was pre booked for that period by other guests 😊 Nevertheless, I will come back again and again, as we can never get enough out of this place. Every day is a new and fresh experience. Best time to visit: Throughout the year 😊 …
The place was superb. The staff was excellent and very attentive. They even had a chef on site which was great because we had both out dinners at the property and the food was outstanding. The view from the property is fantastic and on a clear day you can even see Coimbatore. In the night we could see the city sparkle in light.
Teanest is located in a excellent location amidst Tea Plantation in Coonoor. It’s in a serene and silent location with only sounds of nature. It has fantastic landscape. The food is good and has a very courteous service and staff. The view is stunning looking at vast valley ahead. We had a great climate with must & fog with low under 20 temperatures
A beautiful place and wonderful people around. Ideal place to recharge yourself. Nested in a tea estate, this place ticks all the checkbooks for an ideal vacation. Special thanks to Mr Nikhil for all the assistance and Guruji for the awesome food.
We were couple traveling from singapore > Bangalore > ooty > Teanest, we really loved the access to the property was so hassle free compared to ooty. First thing we noticed, no shops near by which is good, it’s peaceful property. We took the heritage train from ooty to coonoor that was amazing and then at the train stand paid 200 for auto. The reception was very welcoming, my wife fell in love with the welcome basil tea and she had that throughout her stay. We walked around the property a lot, evening weather changes very fast and amazing. We used Lemon room it was big and comfortable for us. The food was just purely amazing at the property, Ranjeet from services was very helpful. Overall we managed to stay nice, compared to other places. We will miss Teanest and hope to visit again…
it was totally worth it, I took my family to nilgiris and choosing this stay was best decision ever. Very friendly and polite staff with amazing hospitality, food was marvellous. unforgettable view of the valley, peaceful, teanest has everything a nature lover needs. we enjoyed our break from city life. Rooms were beautiful & cozy, good interior, giving aesthetic vibes altogether. I am definitely going to comeback again. Thank You Teanest, wish you great success. Cheers.
We visited Coonoor in April 2022;stayed at the Tea nest for a night (pity we could not stay for a couple of more days as it was fully booked for the next few days!!) The room was big enough for two of us ,spic and span bathroom with a hot shower.Car parking inside the premises . Eager to serve housekeeping and restaurant guys .Good good . The clouds came down to say hello to us as we sat outside in the lawn for lunch ! Walked in the plantation ,picked a few coffee beans . Would certainly stay there again on the next visit !
Absolutely amazing ambience with good hospitality and palatable dishes. Breathtaking panoramic view . We enjoyed in the lap of nature each nano second. But some other activities need to develop for the guests during their stay to make it more attractive.
We stayed in Tea nest Annex which is about 700 mts from their main building. They just have 2 rooms here which by any standard are far super to their other 8 rooms in the main building. The view is mind blowing with mountains , mist and valley right in front of the rooms. A small garden with a hammock to relax and a resident chef who makes delicious food . Support staff is always around to help you. Absolutely loved the stay and looking forward to a longer stay next time. Rajnikant, the property manager is a true gentleman and will help you with anything you may want. We had breakfast at the main building everyday which is pretty decent. You just need to be a bit patient during breakfast as the dinning area is very small and the staff take a little bit of more time to serve you especially if the property is fully booked…
