I accidentally landed here during my solo trip to Coonoor. I was walking down the Orange Groove street and found a Victorian style bungalow at a cliff with two three four wheelers parked outside. I initially doubted it was a private residence, until i figured out it was a residential boutique hotel. I must say, location of the hotel is...

Its difficult to put in words how beautiful this place is...a lovely colonial villa with a pretty lawn and sweeping view of the hills around...that's 180 Mc Iver in a nutshell. The rooms all have a different theme...I loved Blackwood...it's beautiful but was already booked when we went there. If I had to choose a room for my next visit,...

A very nice hotel with very good continental cuisine and a wonderful view. A very short drive from Sims Park with lots of parking space. The words 'La Belle Vie' on the signs describes the setting very well.

We dined at the restaurant - great food, lovely ambiance and friendly staff! Generous portions. Loved the wood-fired pizza - very authentic! The laid-back, leisurely pace of the meal was so reminiscent of bygone days, when people enjoyed the meal and the pleasure of good conversation with old friends!

Pros- 1. Beautiful house, really! and a mesmerizing garden with an amazing view. 2. Peaceful and away from the hustle of the city. 3. Friendly staff and amazing food round the clock. Take into consideration that on the hills you would take atleast 2 meals of the day a wherever you stay. 4. Vintage rooms with good bathrooms.

A lot of people visited it without staying here. They were north Indians intrigued by it being a location for some Hindi movie by Karan Johar (this guy drives family people crazy:-)) If you are interested in this place due to this angle, you are missing something. This is an old bungalow. There is enough literature on its past owners...

A stroll in the garden was a blissful feeling. Reasons : well kept lawns and decent people around coupled with beautiful weather...plenty of Sun cool breeze and fresh air. A quick visit and some snacks definitely recommended if you are in Coonoor. The building where the movie 'Kapoor & Sons' was shot - Reminiscent of the scenes makes it feel...
