This 'hotel' has got to be the worst place I have ever stayed in. Extremely rude staff that 'accepts our requests' and are holidaying on their own. The first day we came we were treated very badly by the receptionist. Cold food, when asked to warm the food, staff does not respond or listen. Asked to clean our room around 5 times. Still didn't listen. After telling them about their horrible service, they finally cleaned the room. If you want to go to a hotel where you are the guest, don't stay here.
Tasty breakfast. Good n friendly staffs and the view was excellent from the room. Rooms are hygienic and comfortable. Bed and towels are clean. Hot drinking water 24hours. Understanding our situation, they extended nearly more than extra half an hour while vacating. I personally conveyed my good staying experience in this hotel to Mrs.Lobsang (hotel manager). I feel it's the best place in Coonoor, with reasonable tariff . Overall we had a very nice time, the hospitality of the hotel staffs was good.
Check in was a horrendous experience. It took more than an very unprofessional. We were 18 members and took 9 rooms. They wanted id card for all 18 members which is unheard off. Very poor service there is no food.
Amazing place! Great friendly staff and good breakfast! One person specifically, Mr. Santhosh, very helpful and energetic, he made us feel like localites and not like some tourist. We had a great time here at Vivek's.
Loved my stay here. Awesome breakfast and Dinner. Food was testy . Good staff and the view was excellent from the room. A nice banquet arrangement by the property with live music . I really enjoyed my stay here.
I stayed at Hotel Vivek on earlier occasions as well. Over the years the facilities have been improved significantly. There is ample parking place available for vehicles. The rooms are clean and good. However, one has to be aware of the monkeys which roam around during the daytime. The buffet breakfast is good, complimentary and unlimited. Both the reception staff and the attendants are cordial and courteous. I enjoyed staying at Vivek and look forward to staying here again during my next visits.
We had a nice stay at Hotel Vivek. Basic facilities are available and are good. Food at Green Fields Restaurant is nice. Their Chicken shorba is very yummy and I drank two cups of it. Staffs are courteous. Food is on the medium side of price, but clean and yummy. Rooms are clean without fan or AC (not needed in this cool climate).Bed and towels are clean. They have a beautiful garden. Improvements can be made in rooms and garden and addition of variety foods in restaurant menu.
The rooms were very comfortable. Service was OK. Coffee never came. The view is excellent. We can see entire Coonoor from here. There is a restraunt attached and good is good. Monkeys are around, please don't feed them and keep your doors locked.
Vivek Hotel, Coonoor Stayed here for a month during Nov-Dec 2018. They have increased the tariff from last years and the complimentary breakfast is now available for Standard Room also which was not provided earlier. Smooth check in, helpful reception, compact standard rooms and spacious deluxe rooms. Ample parking space, beautifully maintained lawns and garden. Excellent Ambience with greenery all around. The downers are : Since the place is let out for weddings and other functions also, it can get noisy at times. No 24-hrs hot water for Standard Rooms. Only available in the mornings. The hot water timings are from 6 am and it's muddy coloured on most days. Got to bathe in this. Buffet breakfast is the same everyday - small spread of Pongal, Idly, WHITE plain dosa from dosa maker. Omelet on request only. No change in the menu. Not even the crispy vadai or occasional Poori masala which are standard menu in Tamil Nadu. Since tourists stay only for a couple of days, they won't feel this spread as monotonous. Then comes the monkey time around 8:30/ 9am onwards when a troop of them roam around the balconies, corridors, bath room sunshades, all over the place. If you want a back scrub, keep you bathroom window open and the monkey will jump in. It's really scarry; you can't easily shoo them away. They are hostile and jump into your room regardless of your presence. Please ensure all doors, windows are latched during this time for your safety or leave the place and go for sightseeing. The management must discuss with forest department and find a solution to this menace. I had to shift to Ooty for two reasons; one.. they hiked the tariff from Dec second week eventhough its cold and off season; two.. The Monkey Menace which was Scary!!! But still, it's the best place in Coonoor, with reasonable tariff and ample parking inside their compound. …
There is nothing to say good about this hotel. Not well cleaned rooms. Staffs are not professionally trained. Not hygienic. Even the restaurant staff uses his mouth to open a milk pack instead of a scissors or knife and serve to the customers.
