Oland Plantations... What a place is the first thing which comes to my mind. Had an adventures holiday with family and parents. The food is good under supervision of Gokul and the place is secure under the superivion of Sam. Great place to stay for a holiday in the forest but it is an hour far from Ooty Or Conoor. Thank everyone associated for making this a plesurable stay.

Nice plantation stay and close to nature. The staff is awesome, especially Sam and Gokul. Both were very friendly and helpful. The plantation is visited by many animals which is some way is making difficult for tea and trees to flourish. Hornbill estate is the closest to nature, very secluded. You ll be surrounded with different animals, wasn't our cup of tea so we stayed in Estate rooms. Since this is 30 or so kms from Ooty, it gives opportunity to drive through lot of tea plantations and beautiful scenery

We stayed 2 night at Oland Plantation which was an awesome experience. Specifically Sam the manager was wonderful, he always made us feel like home. I would recommend highly to visit the place. We were so close to nature that one can only experience and word is no match to describe the place. The best part is the morning walk in which we saw 4 Hornbill which was truly blissful.

We stayed at the Jackfruit Room in March 2022. Cottages are within the Tea Estate, surrounded by lush forest. From our room balcony we could see miles of tree canopies. Place is serene, right in the lap of nature. The room/cottage is located about 300mtrs from the main block and one would have to walk up and down which may put off some and family with senior citizens. Oland is situated about 25kms from Coonoor city centre. We enjoyed every bit of the drive to Coonoor and Ooty, on the winding roads amidst tea plantations. During all 5 days of our stay, Sam(Manager), his wife and the team ensured that we felt at home. . As the Chef had to rush to his native to attend to urgent matters, Sam’s wife Shiley took over the role for some days. She cooked amazing simple and healthy vegetarian dishes for us. I never expected this level of hospitality. We were simply delighted. They were always eager to help, go that extra mile to make our stay comfortable. Sam being a nature enthusiast would take guests for long walks in the morning, having conversations about the hills, nature, wildlife that the land was blessed with. There was one major drawback; Rooms need re-do, lot of maintenance. Molds on the walls and ceilings were in plenty and put us off. Cushions on the furniture had not been changed for ages. As much as we were impressed by the location, hospitality of Sam and his team, seems the rooms have neglected. Poor upkeep but Sam and his team more than made up for the rooms. Overall, it was an amazing trip that we would cherish for years to come.

Thank you for your review Vaidish. As you well know, the hospitality sector has been through a lot of strain and financial distress in the last couple of years due to the pandemic. We are slowly building ourselves back with the support of guests like you.

We stayed in the jackfruit room of the Hornbill house for 2 nights. The location of the cottage and the room was away from the reception/dining area. The house is located in a serene and peaceful place surrounded by trees and tea plantation. Walking from the dining to the house in itself was a task having to climb quite a few steps! But the feeling of staying close to nature is totally worth the climb! Mr Sam and his team are excellent in hospitality. The bird watching/short trek every morning before breakfast feels refreshing and is a superb start to the day. Sam is very informative and explained about different birds and their habits. Oland is located away from the main town of Coonoor and you can plan to visit some of the tourist places during the day. Evenings are extremely pleasant and quiet within the property. After a bonfire and a good dinner, it was time to hit the bed. If you are lucky, you will get to spot a variety of wildlife in the property when it gets very quiet!

What a stunning property. In the middle of the raw nature. We were the only ones here for our anniversary and we felt like we were truly lost in the middle of no where. It was absolutely relaxing. We did a walk through their jungle that led to a small village. We were able to spot over 30 species of birds including a hornbill pair. A true paradise for birds lovers. A huge shout out to the chef for making amazing meals for us for all meals and especially for our anniversary. They made a beautiful campfire dinner for us. It was truly one of the best meals i have had in india - fantastic taste and excellent variety. A special shout out to Deleep, Srikant And Ranjit for making our stay so bloody special. We cannot wait to be back..
