Great windows homestay - not a resort / wouldnt really recommend it To start with it wasnt what I expected- it did not in the first look meet any standard i had experienced in my stay at the hotel next door -Sunvalley - That being said the Pros for the place are - unbelievable view: the tea estate view is stunning and absolutely divine - The staff Peter, Emmanuel and the 2 akkas (kitchen queens) are extremely polite, genuine and soft spoken. They were always ready to help sort any issue and make the stay as comfortable as possible Cons- and there are many - - cleanliness is an issue - major one - floors are a bit sticky; carpet not cleaned well, dinner table would on occasions not be cleared (we left post breakfast n when we came bc at night plates were still there - even tough rest of the room seemed to had been cleaned) - Rooms need an instant upgrade - maybe a round table of 4 instead of bulky dinner tables - a side seating near the window area to mk it into a balcony seating rather than as it currently is - unusable - The windows truly are great as is the view but as no seating one is forced to stand - The curtains really need a change - they are flimsy and tacky - a set of good curtains is one thing the owner must incest in. - Breakfast is good and clean and homely - maybe an additional bread/ butter and cornflake option would mak it wholesome - The bathrooms do not hv any toiletries kept - one needs to ask for the basics which they did provide quickly - The dustbins were not cleaned for days it seemed - so back to hygiene n cleanliness being an issue - although they were cleaned when we asked - Same with mirrors and corners Overall - if you book the place do so knowing it is a basic home converted into a commercial setup - It hs the potential, location n the polite staff to mk it one of the best - however they really need to work on the cleanliness and upkeep as well as a better design usage of rooms. Would not recommend to anyone as of now

The only thing that was good for the early morning welcome by birds chirping and the view. Not at all a ideal place even for one night. The staff have no courtesy. The rooms are dusty and smelly i ended up sneezing the whole night. Mats are dirty, toilets are broken. water leaking from the roof to the floor. Not at all hygienic even for a person who can adjust. Food too was not hygienic and very very expensive. we realized we can get colonel villas for this price. NO PARKING you need to park on a Narrow steep slope.

Firstly, this is not at all a resort. This is a homestay. It is a basic one plus one storey house built with a reception desk. The road to reach there in car is terrible. When we stayed there they did not have wifi inside rooms. Plus they had mentioned few amenities on makemytrip which was not at all there. There was a badminton court nearby which was not owned by this homestay. The owner told us he can arrange indoor games but sadly all that did not happen. The cooks did their best to provide good food. However we were not happy with the overall stay. The photos given by the management misleading and the stay is definitely not worth the cost. These rooms should maximum cost 500/- Rs per night. I would totally not recommend this place to a family atleast. There is nothing to do around or inside the homestay apart from the tea estate. How much time can you spend in just a tea estate??

the "so kind" staff make this homely place - tea and copious food on tap! There are great views from the rooms - and you can visit the tea production unit. Huge comfy bed - and a nice terrace to enjoy your meals on. Possible to walk down to central Coonoor and out the other side of the valley to the Park. It's very good value for the Western Ghats - so any room dust/fellow host noise can be forgiven.

Don't go by any of the previous reviews, or the bunch of photos available on this and other sites. They have a great scam going. The "resort" is at the edge of a tea estate (which is not a part of this lodge!)--all pix on the net are of that tea estate. So the view from the windows is great. However, if you open the windows, a nauseating smell percolates in from the open drain outside. Rooms do not have ventilation - 2 rooms out of the three-room family-set did not have any ventilation. Staff is very friendly, helpful, prepares satisfactory meals, goes out of the way to assist .... but, it is not for socializing that you are visiting Coonoor - you want a comfortable stay. Avoid at all costs.

We stayed at this beautiful property for 2 nights. On the day of our arrival, Rohini called us a few times to check on our arrival time, whether we would need food, if we need help with directions etc. When i informed that we are driving down, Nikhil came to pick us up from Coonoor market area so that we dont have difficulty finding the way. We could see that there were sign boards to reach the homestay and it was small drive from the market , but their gesture was so sweet. The property is in a beautiful location. Our room had big windows and a beautiful view of tea gardens. The room was basic and very clean. Breakfast was very fresh and tasty. The lady who served us was very friendly and kept asking us to taste new dishes and have large portions :-) Wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much Rohini and a special thank you to Nikhil for making our stay so comfortable. Whatever we asked for was served with a smile. And thanks for suggesting us to drive to Coimbatore through Kotagiri. It was heavenly.
