Hospitality of the staff and owner was great. Location was very calm and clean. Facilities needs a facelift ( fittings in washroom were old) Food was average in both quantity and quality need a Good chef.
A beautiful place surrounded by green hills. A quiet pleasant locality. Surrounded by full bloom garden. A very welcoming and helpful staffs. A place to read and be lazy . Some really nice cafe in 15- 20 min drive. You need your transport to commute. I would recommend for those who love to laze and take a peaceful break .
One of the best locations to stay near Coonoor. The service is great, the caretaker ensures you are comfortable. The food was tasty but quantity is on the higher side. If you stay here, take the mountain view room, it has access to the terrace and the views from there are amazing
We were a group of 4 bikers, booked the place on Agoda and landed here on our way back from Valparai on 8th Sep'19. The drive was beautiful but we were quite tired by the time we reached. So when the gates to this place opened, it was a sight for wary eyes.. we really were pleased with our choice! Agoda had messed up the booking and hadnt informed the owners, they weren't even there.. only the staff were present who were perplexed with our arrival..But then a quick call to Mrs Srinivas who was actually in Bangalore at that time.. got it all sorted out and she had the rooms all available in quick time. Her staff or rather local families were extremely hospitable and went out of their way to make us feel right at home. This looks like a mini resort, far from a typical homestay! It isnt huge but big enough with sufficient green space that makes you want to stay longer than planned. Settle into their large rooms, sit on the hammock chair at the balcony, take in the breathtaking mountain view and you will forget every other care in the world! There were a couple of niggles like the overhead shower had too little pressure for hot water and most doors were too tight to close properly i guess thats down to the damp whether? Anyway all these niggles were no a concern at all given the warmth they showered on us. Its kind of a remote place and we reached there around 530 pm..so dont know how they managed to get items to cook for us.! We were treated to a sumptuous dinner and then a mega breakfast the next day. Too bad we only stayed the night, we all wished we could have stayed a day more.…
It was a short trip to Coonoor but worth it all the hours of drive from Bangalore. The Nest is at an amazingly beautiful location with serene picturesque views. It is a place to just go and relax which is exactly what we wanted to do. The place is neat and tidy and the hosts were amazing. Food is homely and good. Overall a very fulfilling experience in Coonoor and The Nest!
Hi mates... checked in here in mid may 2018. to begin with, it is not a luxury hotel or 100% homestay. But, it has the 'good of both worlds'. Host Mr.Sreenivas was a friendly person, who right from first enquiry till the sent-off was very helping and guiding. I ticked this place for its location, as it is not in the main stream nor too remote. just 3-4 kms from wellington, it is near a small village. from every room we could view the opposite hill, which is my personal favourite. The property is unique with 'the nest' theme to attract bees and small birds exterior and the 'constructed beds' interior. The kitchen is operated by the in house caretaker, who will provide the available menu, which we should confirm in advance. the food is home food. so, don't expect the 'mirchi masalas', but i bet it is too good on a vacation, to keep us fit. and the caretaker parameshwaran deserves a mention for his warm hosting. The Nest simply mesmerised me with the view of the small hill, as it conversed with me in the rainy nights. Very chill breeze, rain water running slopes, melody musics from nearby village temples, nil transport noise and pollution...made my stay, a true bliss..! Beware don't expect the 'star hotel' amenities, but be ready to experience the merits of a 'home' in a hill slope amidst tea crops..! Pros: location, great host and friendly caretaker, neat rooms, good signal reception (for some it may be con), homely food, good road connectivity to any part of nilgiris, safe location voiding the congestion of hill stations. Cons: if for this experience, they will not be considered as cons..!!! :) Well.... if you ask 'will you visit again'.... the answer is a BIGGGGGG YES..!…
The room was clean and the garden view was excellent. We were a group of 4 and received the front cottage and the view was excellent. Would be great if you could keep a microwave oven in the room. Overall excellent stay.
We visited coonoor and had a nice stay in Nest Coonoor which is a place of heaven and awesomeness to enjoy, relax and fill the eyes with beauty of surrounding environment. Comfortable and social retreat by owner and caretaker. They were very helpful. People have to visit this homestay atleast once in lifetime.
Hi am from bangalore we stayed in The nest in May month. We booked 1 room 15 days earlier Our cottage was on the first floor. It had a wonderful view of the mountains and tea plantation. We also had an opportunity to meet the owner. They were very warm and pleasing. They made sure we had a comfortable stay. Food was good and beautifull lawn area and sit out Would definitely visit again with our family.
We visited Coonoor and stayed at The Nest in the first week of April. We had a wonderful and relaxed 3 days there. The caretaker, Paramesh was ever obliging. His wife sumitra is the cook there and whipped up amazing meals. The Nest has a spectacular view of the hills in the front and lush green tea gardens behind. Its a quiet place for a relaxed stay and wonderful for early morning walks. The rooms are spacious. When our kids had evening hunger pangs, sumitra made maggi or scrambled eggs and onion pakodas. There's a barbecue pit too even though we never used it.
