Detailed Reviews
Nestled in the peaceful Conoor hill station, away from the hustle bustle is a little cottage. The place is clean, has all the basic amenities, and an attentive but non-intrusive staff. The rooms were big and can easily accommodate a family of 4 Adults and 2 kids. Attached kitchenette can be used for basic heating up, making tea or coffee etc. The staff was really helpful and accommodating of our culinary indulgences. Simple south Indian (veg/Non-veg both) fares are definitely recommended.
Prepare to be charmed by the quaint little garden in the front where we chose to sit and while away time. We also made ample use of the terrace which had good seating as well as is serviced by the staff when required. Sitting and talking late into the chilly nights is a definite joy.
The location is fairly close to the bus terminus (on one side) and the Bedford market on the other which had quaint cafes and restaurants. We spent our time meandering through the quiet and busy streets (and little alleyways) - getting a close glimpse of life in Conoor. It helped that the property was situated a 15-20 Mts walk away from these places.
Good eateries in the vicinity include Anma restaurant, Hopscotch bar and restaurant, and Third wave Cafe.
We were 3 friends who had decided to unwind at a location away from all the hustle bustle of city. Being a boutique stay there were no other guests and we had the property all to ourself.
Special thanks to Uzma for ensure our stay was comfortable and well taken care of off.
Must recommended.

Fairy Glen is a beautiful and well maintained house surrounded by the lush green nature. The owner, Ms Uzma, had been a very kind and warm host throughout the entire journey right from the booking. The staff (Nivas, Regina and Fatima) at the property are well trained and very welcoming and made our stay very comfortable.
They were always available to address any of our needs, served delicious home cooked meals and maintained cleanliness in / around the house. Special mention to Ms Uzma's pleasing hospitality as although she was not present physically, she regularly kept on checking of our well-being and did recommend some great places to check out for food and sightseeing.
In terms of negatives, nothing that I can think of except for location which is slightly off the main road and the approach road is very narrow. First day when we were close to reach the property after sunset (around 7 pm) it was completely dark and our Innova taxi got stuck in the narrow stretch for few minutes. Nivas (caretaker) came to our rescue and guided an alternative route which was slightly longer but much better and did not cause any further issue from next day.

We had a 3 day stay at Fairy Glen in Coonoor and we were pleasantly surprised by its charming location which is just a short stroll from the main market. Nestled on a serene street overlooking a tea garden, the resort offered spacious, immaculate rooms that instantly felt like home. We cherished leisurely mornings on the lush lawns, savoring our tea while soaking up the beauty of nature. The rooms were equipped with everything we needed, including a convenient kitchenette, and the attentive staff ensured we had a comfortable stay. Their delicious, freshly prepared meals were a highlight, and their assistance with bookings and local recommendations made exploring Coonoor a breeze. Plus, the WhatsApp group they created for guests added a personal touch to the experience. Fairy Glen truly enchanted us, especially as we traveled with kids—it felt like a magical escape, a true home away from home.

Highlight of the stay is the very well maintained grounds of the property. Ideal for walking or sitting in the swings in the morning sun. Given the property is at top of one of the many hills, you get sweeping views of the valley and the tea plantation - literally in the clouds with the mist passing by
A close competition is the sitting area in the terrace. Has a nice selection of chairs and tables. Swinging on the easy chair while reading a book and sipping tea is peak relaxation.
The caretaker Nivas, the Cook Regina (and her mum) and the server Fatima took very good care of us. They were open to accomodate our breakfast preferences. South Indian breakfast items (Idli, Pongal, Sambhar etc) were excellent and we did full justice to the preparation.
Having ensuite bathrooms for each of the two rooms was ideal. The water pressure is excellent, the toiletries were well stocked. The daily cleaning of the floor and the bathrooms was quite through.
The whole team including Uzma (Proprietor) went to great lengths to ensure the lead up to the stay was smooth. WhatsApp group was created to coordinate on arrival, tips regarding sight seeing etc.
This is an ideal place to to rejuvenate with friends and family.
Note: there is a Third Wave Coffee and a Continental restaurant - Amna (menu changing to Indian/Chinese from Dec) - within 7 mins of walking. We liked the service and food quality there and went there multiple times for Lunch/Dinner during our 5 day stay

We had a fabulous experience during our recent 4 nights’ stay at Fairy Glen, Coonoor. It’s a lovely property located at the end of a winding lane on the road that climbs up from the Coonoor Bus Stand towards Bedford Circle. We were the sole occupants of the comfortable 2 bedroom-cottage with its own terrace, ideal for a family of four. The hosts and staff pay attention to the smallest details to ensure the comfort of their guests. The cook, Regina, ensured that the food was exactly as per our preferences. Both the veg and non-veg fare was excellent. The staff is unfailingly polite and courteous. The hosts guided us about the sight-seeing in Coonoor and recommended some excellent eateries to sample local cuisine. Autorickshaws are available for local attractions like Sim’s Park, Dolphin’s Nose etc. This place is ideal for a quiet stay away from the hustle and bustle of Ooty. If you don’t fancy visiting the usual tourist hotspots, you can simply relax in a rocking chair on the terrace or laze around the beautifully kept lawns around the house or play with the local cat who is a regular visitor. We even spotted a giant Malabar squirrel on one of the trees! All in all, we had a most wonderful time at Fairy Glen and I would always prefer staying here to a stay at any luxury hotel in crowded Ooty!

Our trip was very last minute so finding a place to stay which was peaceful, perfect for the location, was always going to be a challenge. At some point, my husband Sathya and I, said maybe next time! But I was still hopefully browsing just the day before we were supposed to travel and found a name popup, Fairy Glen. Now, who does not like a good fairy tale? And just like magic we had stumbled upon the cottage, our home for the next three-four days. The host, Mrs Uzma has a lovely warm hospitable persona. Right from booking till we reached back home and after, she has been constantly keeping tabs on our well-being and comfort. She's a perfect host who ensures that we know the places to visit, restaurants, things to do, order in, she even sent in the shortest/best route to take! I was sceptical as I was travelling with a tiny tot and all my concerns were well answered by her and we got the utmost care and attention from her team.
The cottage is picturesque, nestled in the hills, close to the town, yet away from all the noise. A photography enthusiast has plenty to capture right from the very gardens of the cottage. Two bedrooms, a dining area, pantry, sitting area and everything has been well thought of. Clean restrooms with hot water, almost through the day and especially nights. Dust-free rooms and upholstery, warm blankets, heaters in every room, with extra attention from the caretakers if anything is required. Hot water in flasks. Tea in teapots served with cups & saucers. Healthy tasty food. Games. Television. Not to forget, a swing in the garden for some quiet time alone.
There's Nilgiris Supermarket at walkable distance. Pizza place and a cafe. In Jan, the nights were cold but the days were warm.
Oh, I could write more..
Overall, it's been a surprisingly comfortable first trip with my little one, thanks to the last minute choice we made to choose this quaint cottage! Warm wishes to our wonderful host Mrs. Uzma, her team and the staff.
All you need to do is pack your bags and have a blessed time at Fairy Glen.

We just got back from a trip to coonoor and stayed at Fairy Glen which is a homestay. Though not too far away from the town,it's still a very quiet and peaceful place. We woke up to the sound of birds chirping everyday which was a refreshing change from the city life. There is a covered seating area on the roof which is a nice place to chill with your coffee/ tea every morning. The garden is absolutely beautiful and well maintained with a variety of flowers. It's nice to walk inside the campus while admiring the colorful garden. The place is managed by Mr Nivas who takes care to ensure all our needs are looked into. The cook and the housekeeping staff are also very attentive and take great care toensure the place is well maintained and our food requirements are taken care of. Since it's a homestay and not a regular hotel we had to inform our requirements a day in advance which helps them to plan. The advantage of this arrangement is that we dont have to depend on restaurant food all the time. Food is cooked in the premises so it's easy on the stomach. The owner of the place Ms Uzma takes personal care to ensure that our stay is comfortable. She took my calls to clarify all the doubts i had several times before we even landed there.she even recommended the places of interest to see and good places to eat and must try foods. Within a short walk from the place there is a well stocked nilgiris and a waffle place both of which we visited and enjoyed! Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend it to everyone.

This is one of the best homestays I have ever stayed in. The house is beautiful with an even amazing garden outside. Bed is extremely comfortable and the room has all required amenities (drinking water, geyser, room heater, cupboards, etc.). The property manager (Srinivas) and housekeeping staff were extremely helpful and served delicious breakfast, all home made.
Uzma (the owner) is one of the best hosts as she kept in touch with us right from booking to checkout. She provided best siteseeing recommendations and restaurant selection. She even offered to make reservations for us.
Fairy Glen is really a home away from home. Can't wait to visit again.

Have been one of those people who always read reviews but never wrote one . Everything about this place compelled me to write my first review . To start with one of the best super host Uzma who in spite of her busy schedule is always available and makes fabulous recommendations , Nivas the property manager who is always available to make your stay pleasant , Regina who churned out amazing food which was like how your mother would make it for you, Fatima the housekeeping person who made the place spic and span every single day with a smile . I guarantee you that you will feel like you have visited your friend’s/ relatives house to stay and not a typical home stay .
If you want to stay in the heart of the city with beautiful views , close to many food joints ,in 15-20 min drive reach scenic locations and have great hospitality then don’t look at any other place apart from Fairy Glen .
