Had one of the worst hotel stays at a 5 star category hotel in India. I have always stayed at Welcomehotel in Coimbatore in my previous visits but being a Marriott Bonvoy member I decided to try this hotel out. I was wrong - now i know why Welcomehotel is #1 in Tripadvisor and this place is far below. My stay date was Tuesday 23rd Feb, 2021. First, if you are visiting Coimbatore for business this hotel is not convenient at all. This hotel is located 5-6 kms further away from the airport opposite to the direction of the city, which increases your commute time to Coimbatore city; additionally I had the devils own time to find or book any taxi cabs - Ola and Uber are not easily available here. The hotel did help me though in booking a Red Taxi. I arrived in the hotel at 9:38 pm and at check-in was informed that hot water is only available at this property between 6-10 am and 6-10 pm. Apparently cost cutting measures by the management due to pressure from owners - hope someone from Marriott International reads this. well, Ok so i wanted to rush to my room to take a shower after my first flight in 11 months. I was starving as i avoided eating anything on the plane in the fear of taking my mask off. The main restaurant only had a buffet to offer so i was guided to their Italian restaurant where i must say i had one of the best Minestrone soups ever. After a quick dinner of soup and bread i rushed to my room. Meanwhile front desk had promised to deliver my luggage to my room while i finished a quick meal, additionally i was told that hot water is normally there till 10:30 pm. At 10:10 pm i was in room and was shocked to find that my luggage had not been delivered. As i was leaving for the elevator to go down to the front desk, at the elevator landing of the 7th floor I encountered a front desk assistant who i met at check-in. He immediately offered to personally get my luggage up instantly. Well, another 25 mins passed and there was no sign of my luggage. I called the front desk 9 times and no one answered the phone. Finally at 10:40 pm I went down myself and got my 2 bags up. Thereafter, I took a cold shower and as i was wiping myself with the bath towel I noticed red lipstick stains on the towel ( images provided). There was only 1 bath towel in the bathroom , no hand towels or face wash towels that are the standard in a Le Meredien or even any 3 star category hotel. As it was past 11 pm and i had a early meeting the next morning I decided against checking out and moving to another property. The bathroom sink was not draining making it difficult even to brush my teeth. Finally next morning I could use the sink after prying open the stopper with a plastic spoon; engineering fixed it when i complained on my way out to my morning appointment. The breakfast buffet was nothing great to write about - certainly disappointing for a Le Meredien : no croissants, danish, cheese, cold cuts etc. Cut fruits didnt look very appetizing. There was no offer to take orders for eggs made to order - buffet had flat over Indian masala omeletes and boiled eggs. I will add that at lunch i ordered a club sandwich and it was excellent; I guess the food is good here but buffet was lacking due to cost cutting measures. The executive Housekeeper did come and meet me prior to check out to apologize and said that the laundry machines had a breakdown the day before. At check out I kind of felt bad for the employees who look over worked and demotivated as I could hear other guest yell for their luggage at night while sleeping. There were definitely not enough people at the front desk. It didnt seem that the hotel was not making money as 3 weddings were going on the evening i checked in. I guess this what you get when all the management cares is their bottom line and not guest service or satisfaction. It is a pity as otherwise this a well made beautiful property.…

Spent a lovely afternoon in Le Meridian hotel. Food was awesome. Rippon Kumar and Uttara helped us in selecting the menu. Their friendly and pleasant behavior made our special day memorable. Would love to visit again and recommend to our friends.
Stayed here for 2 weeks. Hotel management has really suffered a huge setback. Doesn't seem to be more than a mere 2 star service now. After constant reminders as well, most of channels are not available. No one answers the phone, whether front desk, house keeping or emergency. Food in buffet at times is stale. No hot water other than specic times in a day.... Overall if there is any rating less than one...i would have given that.
We came for candle light dinner at Le MERIDIEN, we got unexpected personal experience. Shankar took care of us. myself and fiance totally impressed.Make sure we will suggest this place. We got nice food served multi cuisine, great food by your chef and totally made the day unmemorable.
