8. For budget travellers its perfect.

The Hotel staff is extremely cooperative and polite; cannot understand why people post such staunch reviews. The Hotel restaurant (rooftop) has breathtaking view of the lake, but plastic chairs shall spoil your photographs. The restaurant service is snail paced (the kitchen is on the ground floor and restaurant is on 4th floor), very costly but tasty.
However for a budget couple, this is a good option. The area is dominated by Foreign tourists, hence Indian food is very costly. If you need Indian food, the Hotel BAWARCHI is a good option (around Delhi Gate- Hatipole).
We had a great time at Udaipur-Nathdwara-Chittorgarh; very beautiful and romantic. Covering Udaipur on foot is indeed an experience in winters.
Go and have a blast guys!!!
Service, Cleanness, Location & AC Quality is Too bad, Test & Quality Of Food Is Also Not Good, Room Service Is Too LATE. We Suggest not to stay in this Hotel. Go to lake lake pichola this is ver good..
The hotel room was not prepared, and remained dirty throughout our stay. In spite of repeated requests and repeated promises, the hotel could not provide us with clean towels, bathroom, a decent TV reception, and clean sheets.
To top it, they tried to overcharge us at check-out. We had to prove our booking on email. The matter was corrected but no apology was offered.
Before heading to Udaipur, I called around and compared hotel prices - really wanting to find a good deal on a lake view room. The Wonder View Hotel - 2000Rs per night with balcony and the desired lake view -- sounded like a good deal. Right ? Wrong.
Upon arrival we noticed the hotel was in a very sad state - almost like an abandoned building you'd expect to see in a war movie. We said we wanted to see the room before we decided -- We went upstairs and found a rather charming, albeit spartan, double room. The view, however, was absolutely laughable. Older reviews (ca. 2006) may not reflect this but there is now a half completed cement foundation right in front of each room -- save the top I believe.
We were appalled and felt cheated. Noticing the hotel's lack of guests and realizing that the manager was probably desperate for our business we politely declined the 2000 Rs double room with the awful view. I even offered to give the manager some money for his trouble - as we had booked over the phone (but not paid!).
The manager became immediately aggressive and yelled "you will NEVER leave this hotel". He got uncomfortably close to my face and starting yelling empty threats - we literally ran back to the room to grab our gear but were chased by the manager and several cronies who pounded on the door once we were inside.
After a brief hold-up in the room, we exited and made our way for the exit. Another undesirable encounter with the hotel staff ensued -- one of them even grabbed my arm! and again (desperately) told me "i am not able to leave". I assured them this was not the case, threw 100 Rs on the reception desk and we hightailed it to the neighbouring AMET HAVELI (which is a lovely place with much fairer prices).
I would never, under any circumstance, be able to recommend this hotel based on my awful experience.
As stated in other reviews, the place has potential but the chance of improvement is highly unlikely given the staff's sleazy worth ethic.
