Located in the old city of Udaipur, a stone's throw from the Jagdish Temple.
Upon our arrival, we were greeted with great cordiality at the tiny reception, where we completed the ritual formalities. The manager offered us various possibilities for our possible needs: same-day laundry service, in-room massages, guide for a city tour, taxi service.
We were assigned a decent room on the first floor, with a large and comfortable bed, clean but not completely stained sheets, and very basic furnishings.
Small bathroom, with a shower area that can be delimited with the help of two curtains stretched between two opposite walls, hot water for which it was necessary to wait a long time (in the end, luckily it arrived), a dirty shelf under the mirror and unsafe, the absence of further supports on which to place bathroom objects, and greyish and uncomfortable towels.
Upon our arrival, the room was cold and had no heating in any form; we asked in vain for a heater, but in return we were provided with additional duvets.
The hotel has a rooftop restaurant, with a splendid view of Lake Pichola and the Lake Palace; we took advantage of it for dinner, eating discreetly.
For breakfast, fruit, pancakes, toast with butter and jam, tea and coffee are available.
We stayed two nights, without having our room made up; not a very positive experience.

Mewar Haveli gave us the most exceptional authentic cooking class yesterday! Mr Harish the owner organised a very professional + informative traditional Indian cooking class for my friend + I.
We put on aprons + went into the commercial kitchen for 3 hours during real time lunch preparation + serving by the in-house chefs. He explained every dish to us, the ingredients, the cooking methods, all the whilst demonstrating it.
We then ate each dish immediately as it was prepared. It was extraordinary to see this happening around us in real time. We learnt how to cook 6-7 dishes from rich curries to wet curries to dry curries to dahl to roti bread, pakoras + so much more. Plus we got the recipe sheets to take home to Australia + cook for ourselves!
Such a fantastic experience!
I cannot recommend this more.
We have used Mr Harish’s services on this trip + our previous Udaipur trip in 2019.
He offers money exchange, tour bookings, train/car bookings, astrology sessions, plus of course his accommodation + the delicious restaurant.
He is literally a one stop shop of information + helpful tips. Whatever you could want to know about Udaipur… Mr Harish knows!
Plus he speaks perfect English.
Thank you Mr Harish. See you next trip!

Hotel Review: Deceptive Photos, Pathetic Hospitality, and Missing Amenities. No Where close to a 3 star rated hotel.

We recently stayed at this hotel, and it was an extremely disappointing experience. Despite the hotel's website showcasing beautiful and spacious rooms with modern amenities, the reality was far from what was promised.

Deceptive Photos:
The photos online were clearly heavily edited and misleading. What was depicted as a large, luxurious room turned out to be cramped and poorly maintained. The overall ambience was far from inviting.

Pathetic Hospitality:
The service left much to be desired. The front desk staff so called manager ( Mr. Harish ) were indifferent , rude and unhelpful, offering no warm welcome or even a simple greeting upon arrival. They seemed more interested in rushing through the check-in process than providing any sort of assistance or information about the amenities. It was clear that hospitality was not a priority here.

Small Rooms:
The rooms were ridiculously small and cramped. It felt like they barely had space for the essentials, let alone the luxury features promised. The furniture was outdated and barely fit into the space, making it feel even more claustrophobic.

Missing Amenities:
A number of basic amenities were missing, which was incredibly frustrating. There were no cupboards to store clothes, just a tiny hanging rail in a corner. A hotel of this supposed caliber should at least provide the basics, but that was not the case here. Even more shocking was the lack of a dental kit, handwash dispenser, electric kettle, or tea/coffee sachets. These are all standard items in most hotels, and their absence was glaringly evident. We had to request these, and even then, the staff seemed inconvenienced by the request.

This hotel was a complete letdown. It failed to live up to the promises made in the photos, and the hospitality was a major letdown. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant, comfortable, or stress-free stay. If you're looking for quality service, proper amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere, this place is not for you.Rather I would recommend some of the hotels nearby.

We booked a lake view room, This is a great place to stay on budget
And service provided was awesome. The host of the hotel Sayam and his uncle was like a family who guided us and have helped us in our commute also

The roof top restaurant undoubtly is the USP for this hotel providing us lake, mountain, sunset, jag mandir view.

Shivam with his coleague the restaurant care taker has hosted good dinner on roof top.

Just for information the rooms are small but have everything you need so was not a problem for us.

Stayed at Mewar Haveli for 2 nights with family.
It is 150 years old Haveli.
This place lives up to its name, the entire place has the essence of Rajasthan to it.
Every floor, every corner has beautiful Rajasthani decor.
Although a bit small the room which we had booked had all the comforts , the interiors again had Rajasthani paintings on the wall ,& ceiling too .
Staff is polite & prompt in service .
The entire haveli is neat & clean.
The owners Harish & Sayyam are friendly & informative.
The roof top restaurant has a good choice of food, & a breathtaking view of the Pichola Lake.
It is walking distance from Jagdish temple , Gangaur Ghat & Udaipur palace . It is situated in a quiet lane in the old city. Rickshaws are easily available outside the haveli.
All in all a pleasant stay, highly recommended.

An impromptu trip was planned to udaipur with my cousin. We found mewar haweli on all the platforms. The reviews on all the platforms were 4+
Intrigued we booked this place.

It is situated in the heart of the old Town of udaipur and is accessible by either foot or two wheeler.

Let's start with the rooms, the rooms were cozy and well maintained. The staff is courteous. The hotel is hygienic. Even though it's a cozy budget hotel, the views are mind blowing. The food is excellent. The quality and quantity is upto the standards.

100% would recommend for you to stay here. Can't get a better deal in udaipur.

Last point I would again like to add is : THE VIEWS ARE OUT OF THE WORLD

Ambience :5/5
Value for money :5/5
Room :5/5
Food:5/5

Its always full, do contact the owner before booking. Mr. Sanyam is very helpful and hands-on takes care of his guests.

I stayed for two days and one night in Udaipur and was searching for a nice place where I could also unwind in the process. I heard from a friend about this quaint hotel called Mewar Haveli, overlooking Lake Pichola. Further research left me with a good impression and so I decided to go ahead with it.
It was one of the best decisions I made. Unlike those huge, swanky hotels which you would usually find, this turned out to be cosy and surprisingly felt like home. I booked a lake view room. The room was spacious and interiors tastefully done. Everything was in perfect order, set for welcoming me into the room when I checked in.
The housekeeping service was very prompt and did not give me any room for complaint.

Needless to say, the view from the room was beautiful. Sitting in the evening, with the sun setting, sipping a delicious cup of tea and taking in the view of the lake was just what I needed.

The entire premises has a rustic feel to it, which adds to the overall charm of the place. The best part about this hotel is the staff and the people who work there. Extremely courteous, on their toes and welcoming - they really make your day.

Mewar Haveli has a lovely open air restaurant along with a closed dining area. Both offer a panaromic view of the lake, with a completely different feel.

The service was excellent and so was the food. I opted for North Indian Veg food in the meal I had there, since that is my usual preference.
Paneer Do Pyaza had soft, melt in the mouth pieces of paneer, with just the right amount of spice in the gravy. I coupled this with Mix Vegetable and cheese naan, topping it with a perfect lassi.
The food was fresh and steaming hot, with delicious flavour.

They are looking to expand their menu with a number of more cuisines which include Italian,Israeli,a few continental dishes, mocktails and smoothies along with new items in the Indian section.

I had a very relaxed time at this hotel and would definitely like to come back to it for a longer trip next time. It is a perfect example of how careful attention to nuances and ensuring comfort of the customer goes a long way.
Thumbs up to the entire team of Mewar Haveli, keep it up!

Our stay at Mewar Haveli was extremely comfortable. It's located close to a lot of tourist spots. The view from our room was spectacular. We loved the food as well, it covered plenty of options and the dishes were delicious. Dinner at the roof top was the best. Excellent hospitality and support from the staff. I would definitely recommend Mewar Haveli to anyone who's looking for a comfortable stay with preference for lake view at a decent budget.
