What a lovely place to stay. Our hosts made us so welcome, showing us around their lovely home and chatting to us about India. The food was delicious, our room spacious and comfortable and the views all around were amazing. It was wonderful to go back after a long day's sight seeing and relax on one of the terraces. A perfect place to escape after the hassle and bustle of the cities.
This is in a really quiet area yet convenient for travel in to Udaipur. The hosts are welcoming and we had a big room which was very comfortable. We were welcome to pop in to the house and to have breakfast sitting on the back porch, which is a lovely area. The breakfast was very good, offering eggs, cereals, fruit, toast and jams. Umesh, who looked after us over our three night trip, was excellent, always ready with a smile. He prepared the breakfasts for us and ensured we were home safely in the evenings. We did eat there on the first night but felt we’d get different food, and a choice, if we ate out on our other nights. The restaurants we went to were very good. I’d ideally like to give 4.5, the only slight ‘recommendation’ would be to offer guests a free tea/coffee service (although there are facilities in your room) but having said that it didn’t cost much. We’ve had other homestay experiences though where we’ve been offered free tea/coffee/juice and cake hence the 4.5 rating!! We’d recommend the homestay without hesitation. The staff are all excellent.…
Devra is a most beautiful property lovingly developed over many years by our hosts Jyoti and Major Durga Das, who introduced themselves to us on arrival and made sure we felt welcome throughout our 3 day stay. We loved the tranquility of the setting with its many outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy the views and our room was large and comfortable with a very homely feel. As sisters we had planned our trip to Rajasthan around the dates of Diwali as we hoped to experience something of how Indian families celebrate Diwali at home. So we specifically chose to stay in a homestay for this festival rather than the heritage hotels booked for the rest of our holiday . We mentioned this to Jyoti when we arrived and were so very grateful to be invited to join their private family celebration on the evening. We were made so welcome by Jyoti and the Major and their lovely family, who included us in an experience we will treasure forever. I hope to return to beautiful Udaipur with my husband and will certainly stay at Devra again.…
We liked it here and could happily have stayed longer than the two nights we spent. The food was excelent and the hosts charming, our room was great and when there was a blip on the air-con this was sorted with the minimum of fuss. Country views all around and a very nice pool. There is a small temple attached to the house and as luck would have it the local people came one morning for a celebration.
We were invited to a cooking class at Udaipur. The hospitality was very warm and the story of the host and the family is very interesting. Befoer coming we have asked to have less spicy food and the whole menu was adjusted according yo our request. Beyond all that the atmosphire was great and the food was delicious. Thank you so much for a delighted evening.
It's nice and very beautiful with good location. Good food and service owns by couple Ms Jyoti and her husband Major Durga das. Enjoyed our two days time with Devra. Would like to visit whenever we explore again the Udaipur. Suggest all visitors should stay here.
A quite place away from the city. The property was clean and hygienic. Jyoti is an amazing host. Food was amazing. Service was the best among what I have seen in such home stays. The property has got ample space and your privacy can be perfectly maintained. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Devra. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
A quiet little place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Absolutely loved the stay. The owners and the staff were extremely welcoming and flexible to my needs. I was travelling with my pet and the property had plenty of space for my pet to walk around and enjoy. Wouldnt hesitate even once booking this place again.
Stayed for 3 days at Devra, and must say that our stay was better than the rest of the places. The property was clean and hygienic with scenic views of the city as the property nests in a hilly area. Not only that, the property itself used a lot of sustainable methods and had the cutest little pets. The ambience alone is relaxing and gives a taste of Rajasthan. We had lunch at the property and it was the best Rajasthani food. Couldn’t have asked for a better place and better hosts. Our timings of leaving and arriving were both very odd but the staff was irrespectively at our service always. A lot of greenery in and around the property which relaxed us even more being far from the pollution and the noises of the rest of the city. The pool was a cherry on the top and was separate from the rest of the property giving enough privacy to those who preferred it. There are many options to stay in places like Udaipur, but if you want to experience some local nature and beauty of the place , then this is the place to be. Would definitely choose and recommend this place to everyone whoever decides to visit Udaipur!…
Outstanding property... Amidst lush green trees ... Perched on a hillock ... Surrounded by hills... Outstanding food... exceptional service...and hosts par excellence. Also the carbon footprint of the resort is negative as the farm to table is from the farmland around . I have stayed here on more than one occasion.
