The resort is quite big. The best place is the reception area which is very decent and has a good collection of antiques, while the rooms are quite the opposite and there seems to be no synthesis in the interior design and everything is extremely gaudy and garish, seems to shout loud in your face. It could have been a lot subtle, calm and decent. However the gardens are well maintained and lot of areas to sit, walk and enjoy the outdoors. The food is average and the service is poor. The restaurant staff and room service staff needs a lot of brushing up. There are no menu cards in the rooms for room service and no shower mats in the shower area (much needed as the flooring is quite slippery once you take a bath). We had a problem with the intercoms in the rooms not working. The upkeep of the rooms and bathrooms is also quite ordinary. Personally would not stay again.

Stayed there in the first weekend of July, two couple and it was horrible.
Property is good and big, undoubtedly have a potential to become one of the best in Udaipur but it failed in every aspect.
Zero maintenance, no proper cleaning in room n property as a whole, highly under maintained, like shower of bathroom/minifreez/teamaker Nothing is working, have complained several times but no one was able to repair or replace the faulty things, finaly we have up.
And the worst part is, they are highly under staffed
I mean such a huge property and single/hardly two persons at reception for check-in n such a rush, it took one hour to checkin n that's the problem with everyone, hardly seen anyone cleaning outer room areas like lobby/pathway/garden/pool/commonarea/benquet hall, etc.
Also most of guests opted with dinner package, while it was in big banquet hall, it was dirty, smelly and hardly 2 staff members can be seen around to take care of refill and cleaning and due to which the place becomes a real garbage bag, and that's what happen when no staff is there to take care of cleaning.
On this weekend, almost 60-70 rooms were occupied and around 200 guests and literally we all had to shout and fight at the time of dinner and hightea with manager for such a mis management. They r charging in the range of Radisson/Ananta/Ramada, hence it would be advisable to shell out few more bucks and stay with brand. Doesnot recommended at all.

Property and location is mesmerizing and is far off from the hustles and bustles of city. Fateh Sagar is not far if you want to have a lakeside break. But as all standalone hotels have, this place is riddled with issues. The Wi-Fi never works as admitted by their own staff. When it works, it does only for Windows and Android and not iOS. Strange admission but this has been going on for years without any remedy. And there is no mobile network at the place. So unless you are going to have a break with no external disturbances, this is not the place to be. On their website they display they have six restaurants with different cuisine ranging from Japanese to Mediterranean. This is a complete lie and is misleading and why no one has so far registered a complaint for willful disinformation is something beyond me. They have only one restaurant and at times they serve at a makeshift place which they call as restaurant. The food is average but the fact that they do not serve expensive items to save cost is bizarre. For eg, they don’t have Lal Maas because Mutton is expensive and so such items are not included in the package of a set menu. What works is a guy at the restaurant named Bhagwant whose services make you forget these shortcomings. He makes up for all the problems you face. And something bizarre. I had a beer which was costing Rs 300 while a 500 ml Sprite cost Rs 350. No one knows why this price variation. Not even the F&B guys. My advice is to go to the hotel chain properties as they have better services.

Nestled near the foothills of the Aravalli mountain ranges, this huge property stands out in terms of the ambience, the rooms, the food and topping it all, the hospitality of all the people around. Everyone looked to be going the extra mile to do their bit in keeping us comfortable and there was never a moment where anyone went wrong. A special mention of the Chef Roger who put up this wonderful menu across the 2 days with a delectable and finger licking spread of dishes and believe us, each and every dish was worth its weight in gold. We were a group of around 40 and keeping us pampered throughout would not have been an easy job but the entire RR team pulled it off with aplomb.

In the most simple words, the Royal retreat has a messed up management and hospitality. In the truest sense, their responsibility and accountability level for the experience they gave us is completely acceptable to them, they are completely ok by ruining a wedding experience for us with a simple response of we shall look into it
We had booked from 21-22 Feb for a wedding, and we have had the worst time dealing with them and their issues. The foremost part of the wedding event is a smooth check in but they are least bothered about it. They take zero responsibility and expect the client to spoon feed and handle it all for them. Thinking it was a reknowned and wedding specialised property you would think they have an experience with crisis management and will be there to help you but sadly that won’t be the case.
And the housekeeping and hospitality is over the roof. You say it and your work will be done on a scale from 30 mins to not at all. And again with no regret at all and complete denial of such an issue happening.
And when it comes to the rooms, the jaguar suite apparently newly done is by far the most stinky block of the area. While the other block have no cleanliness, maintenance and not a care in the world for mending these things.
When it comes to charging they are in the forefront for it but when it comes to giving and experience for a memorable wedding they will make sure you have the worst one ever. As pretty as the property and locations look from the outside, the insides and internal management is the worst.

Dear Ms Krati, Greetings from The Royal Retreat Resort and Spa Udaipur ! Thank you for your patronage and we really appreciate you for taking out the time and sharing your feedback on your experience with us. Our credo is Athithi Devo Bhava, which literally translates as "Guest is God", we have ensured an atmosphere of committed, warm and discrete hospitality for our discerning guests. With regards to your feedback, we would like the opportunity to clarify the points as raised by your kind self, Check in : • We would like to bring to your attention that the Gentleman and company that you had taken on as Event Manager to take care of the wedding, had not paid the hotel dues in spite of repeated follow ups for almost 20 days with him and his associates, to the extent even till the day of the check in no payments were received by the Hotel . Every business entity has it rights to admission and also the right to protect itself from businesses that would eventually result in a negative parlance for the it’s very own entity and survival. Every Hotel takes a full advance before check in , hence we had to take this ultimate step of denying check in due to the nonpayment to the hotel by your event Manager who was well aware of the hotel rules and regulations of payment guidelines. • Rooming list with proper room number details and guest name was not received to us till check in date • Even after continuous follow up with the advance payment of the wedding as per the signed contract was never received by hotel • We provided the room check in of more than 70% before check in time as per our records (04AM in morning as well) • At departure as well we explained that as it is a resort property and every services have their standard timing (GOLF CART, ROOM CLEANING and ROOM SERVICE) ranging from 15 minutes to 30 minutes • Also as per our protocol for weddings every room is being cleaned in the presence of guest • The inconvenience was caused was due to the non payment by your event Manager. We are committed to consistently providing warm, efficient and discrete service to our guests and has been appreciated by numerous guests on Social Media platforms. It is very disheartening for us as well to put this kind of explanation on reputed media platforms. Warm Regards, Ashish Vyas General Manager

We stayed here for about 11 days and we found this place to be an absolute delight. The property is huge and aesthetically pleasing. The staff was really polite. The chef Mr. Roger Gonsalves is very nice and sweet besides the fact that he is a great chef. Mr. Durgesh from housekeeping was also very hospitable and extremely polite. It was a great experience and we would definitely want to come back here.
