The room we stayed in (top floor center) was one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in at any location and the views were stunning. The service at all levels was excellent, (except for the spa) and the waiters at the restaurants were highly responsive and helpful.
As for the spa, they started our massages late, but ended them on time leaving us 10 min shortchanged and they were just okay massages. Also, the floors were dirty and the tinted windows can be viewed through from the outside after dark, leaving us somewhat exposed.
Overall the spa would not keep me from rating this property 5 stars because everything else was fantastic.

We stayed at this hotel in Feb for 3 days. The welcome was great. The hotel is up to mark in terms of facilities.
We took lake view rooms. The rooms had these large windows from which the view of Fateh Sagar Lake was breathtaking. Room size is optimum and all necessities are provided for.
The location is a little bit away from main city area around City Palace, but then there are lot of taxis or Autos (TukTuk) around at affordable rates. The hotel is located on a small hillock.
Food preparation is excellent. We had most of our meals in Padmini restaurant. The food is spicy, being a trademark of Rajasthani food.
The staff is courteous and all requirements were timely serviced. Overall a great leisure destination, and would become better with a swimming pool. Would like to stay there again.

I stayed in the hotel for a week .When you enter the hotel you will get a sweet surprise with the location and surrounding of the hotel it really look like heavenly place the view the royal ambience all mesmerising. The staff was courteous and very polite the upkeep of the building was top notch and looked liked the EHK Mr.Roshan(I asked for it from the staff)walked an extra mile to keep it so clean and well maintained.The rooms were also very clean and maintained which is difficult for heritage properties . Specially I would like to mention the food which was top notch thanks to there chef Mr.Sharma .Also the staff was very courteous special mention here for Mr.Deepam the F&B executive who was personally guiding the junior staff and maintained high level of service in the F&B.All in all fantastic experience and would like to visit this place this place kudos to the whole Lalit Laxmi Vilas team .As I hail from the hygiene industry and travel and visit many hotel myself I can really see the hardwork put in by the housekeeping staff and operational team Guys keep it up thanks for the lovely experience.

First of all plus points- Location is very good and property exterior is maintained. Roshan and Mr. Nehwal was very polite. Now the genuine feedback
The hotel at present is being run by the interns mainly from front desk to room service and restaurant. Few actual staff of hotel is there. Check in was like oyo rooms no welcome with smile . Straight being sent/dumped to your room without courtesy of explaining the room features. They give excuse of covid for that. Opted for king bed, given two single bed joined together. Bed linen were not ironed . Mattresses have caved in, window couch was not cleaned- popcorn, used band aid under couch seat. Switches at back of pillow space. After complain they shifted to a bigger room( so called Suite) there too the bed bench was dirty, couch has water mark. Toilet flush constantly leaking, spider webs on bathroom high ceiling. Mattress here too is caved in. they have put another two inches mattress over it. had some snack in corridor the clearance was not done till checked out. No daily cleaning of corridor or front lawn. Food is highly priced. On recommendation of Mr. Ashish tried Chinese, the food was okey not great as suggested. Worst part is that they serve in oval shape steel bowls@ 3 items dimsum, fried rice and some cauliflower sauce at 3500/-plus taxes. These kind of serving dishes are used in road side dhabas. High time they stop showing video of how much covid appropriate norms cleanliness they are following. its all nonsense. At present won't recommend to stay there.

Myself and my husband went here for anniversary. Firstly Checkin was delayed because we had requested for lake view room. Even though the rooms were unoccupied the staff was so rude and did not want to give us the lake view room. Rooms are not up to the mark. Bathrooms are very very small and contested Not worth the price Food was pathetic Same breakfast menu everyday Never go here for Buffett dinner or lunch because it is such a waste of money. Even the chef is kind of rude. Worst part in this property what we noticed is that the rooms have no ventilation and so when the AC is switched off we got saffocated. Mid night they usually switch off the centralised AC as part of cost cutting and we had sleepless nights 3nights also.
My trip to Udaipur was such a waste of time and money mainly because of the uncomfortable stay in Lalit udaipur.
The staff needs to be trained to handle guests better way.
Hotel management can not work just by paying more money.

And this property of lalit is such a fake place I have been.

I and my wife went to Udaipur on a weekend trip arrived at Udaipur station at 7 am and booked the Lalit by calling them as they ensured us to provide early check-in and we also got some discount on room charges once we were there. The place is awesome situated in front of Fateh Sagar Lake at some elevation the Luxmi villas palace itself has a very royal feel to it as it is real palace some 110 year old. We got the a suite room and we lived it.

A fantastic property with amazing housekeeping staff (Roshan and team) and food is awesome at the Padmini restaurant. However, there are a few details that the management team can look into, which are as follows:
1. Dining: Food refill should be continuous and the guests should not wait. Additionally, some chat and local food items can be included so that guests should not leave the premises and go over to the push cart vendors located near the Fateh Sagar lake 2. Vast spaces of the lush green lawn could be utilized to include some basic games like: Croquet, Kite Flying, etc., to keep the guests interactive 3. Rooms can be extra spacious. 4. Even though it's a heritage structure, recommendation is to include a small mechanical lift so that luggage can be lifted instead of the bell boy team(s) having lift the baggage all the way to the guests' rooms, as this manual practice seems out dated.

Nestled on hill and overseeing the pristine Fateh Sagar lake, The Lalit Lakshmi Vilas Palace can be easily compared to those locales of French rivière or Lake Como in Italy. What an amazing stay it was! Mr. Pinak at the reception ensured smooth and quick check in. I was upgraded to the heritage Room on the 2nd floor. It was a huge majestic room and the view from the room was simply captivating and so serene with Fatehsagar lake in sight. Throughout the evening I enjoyed the tranquility & beauty of the place sitting in the floor balcony, sipping hot coffee and even having my soup there. The Restaurant staff customized every meal for me as per my choice and taste, thanks to Chef Mahinder Singh & his team. Oshie from the F & B team was very friendly and sweet. At the time of my check out, the Resident Manager Mr. Devendra Singh Parihar was present to see me off and was really impressed with his courtesy.
It was an official trip, but turned out to be such a beautiful, memorable and relaxing one due to multiple factors – choice of the hotel, the amazing room, awesome location and cherry on the cake – the royal treatment provided to me by the hotel staff from all departments.
This was my second trip to this place, coincidentally last before the lockdown and first after the Lockdown. And going forward, for me, if it is Udaipur, it has to only ‘The Lalit Laxmi Vilas Palace’.

Very poor level of service originally. At the beginning front desk personnel were rude and unprofessional. every tiny request was ended by "No sir". as simple as when I asked to get some change on a 500 roupies bill (6euros). Luckily we found Mister Dipam and every thing change from then. He found some change for us (the reason for that change was to give him his tip) he allowed us to have lunch and dinner on the terrace facing the lake, he managed to get us a room 5 hours after our check out to take a shower and change before leaving to the airport. I hope this hotel management will be made aware of this comment as the level of professionalism displayed by mister Dipam should be noted for future promotion. In another hand the level of poor service given by his fellow colleagues should also be noted by the same management. to finish, the princess suite we were staying in was very average with ageing bed sheet and towels. I am sure better place for less price can be found in Udaipur. Thanks again mister Dipam for your kindness.
