Ten rooms, four Indians, and fifteen foreigners - our visit to udai kothi was as large as that, and our experience equally immense. Located close to the banks of Pichola Lake in Udaipur, as we approached it, this ethnically designed building loomed up into the sky, capturing our heart at first sight. Extremely comfortable, and well designed rooms, were complemented by the most courteous staff. The rooftop restaurant is a visual delight and the food is a gastronomic one. We had the pleasure and privilege of meeting Shri Vishwavijay, the humble, down to earth owner of the hotel too. It was amazing to hear how he designed and crafted the building and the beautiful interior decor and the marvellous exterior. Arif , the manager, was always available to solve every query we had about the city and our stay. The housekeeper, Ms Saina, was most helpful too. Being a bureaucrat, I take decisions after great deal of examination. Hence, the decision has been taken, that every time I visit Udaipur, or my family or friends do, all of us shall stay only at udai kothi for sure. Anita Karwal, Retired IAS…
Gorgeous looking hotel, beautiful roof top swimming pools, lovely garden setting perfect for late afternoon drinks. Rooms are large and beautiful, bath is humongous with window seat too! This hotel could be amazing but breakfast basic . I would stay again even though .
Over priced property. Not clean at all. dust and dirt everywhere . even if the hotel people were informed earlier and even every day of stay to make the rooms clean, they did not listen to anything. for any room service you need to wait half hour for any body to come that too after 2-3 reminders. The breakfast buffet is same everyday no change same idli, poha uttapam , dosa , same menu everyday no addition or change. The rooms are not cleaned properly before checkin , the rugs and matteresses , even the lamps are full of dust and we got allergies due to that. when informed they did not do anything. Not at all child safe swimming pools on the passage , low boundries on walls even on teh roof top restaurant , lift is just a formality . they will charge for room at a hefty price but you can get better rooms in main city , they are even costlier than the 4- 5 star property with no worth. The rooms are dark themed with minimal lighting which in itself gives a negative feeling during stay…
This is an amazing place for the luxurious & royal stay. It's a fabulous place to enjoy the dinner at rooftop baromasi restaurant with stunning night view of city and lake pichola. This place is nothing less than a heaven. Do stay here when you are in udaipur.
THE HOTEL AND AGODA doin FRAUD.These People are Charging A Huge Amount for a Very Very BASIC AND Bad room By Puttin Picture of Higher Category room Saying It is A Deluxe room on AGODA. Please do not book this Hotel and fall into this Trap.Poor Service
Overall Great Experience. Pros : Ambience , Rooms , Restaurant, Open garden area Cons : No room service available from Hotel restaurant Thing to consider : This is located in the old city hence atleast 200 m long thin road leading to the Hotel entry , though ample parking is available on the premise . Staff is humble and helpful .
Udai kothi is nothing what it claims on the website. Real pictures are attached which can be compared with website. Agoda also did not help at all in claiming refunds. The approach road is terrible too.
We visited Udai Koti for 2 days and the stay is very nice and property is good, special mention to Mr Hukkum for making our stay pleasant and helping us all the time and being super helpful. The property is at a very good location and breakfast is also good, do try Mysore cheese masala dosa and also baro masi for dinner will give you a great view of lake pichola
This is a palace renovated for use as a hotel. It is located very strategically, a short walk away from key sites in the old city. It also has a great rooftop restaurant with amazing views of Lake Pichola. Where the hotel falls short is in service and maintenance. The bathrooms, in particular, could do with some cleaning and renovation. The rooms are spacious but the rugs were filthy and the cleaners rarely came without being asked for. All in all, much room for improvement but terrific location and great potential...
Excellent service by the staff members. Hotel offers a great aesthetic and luxurious experience within. Baro masi rooftop restaurant is treat for the eyes.I would not recommend you to try Lal maans from the cafe. 1559 AD is a better choice
