A large group of us stayed here for several nights in Jan 2007 and then returned in Feb. Felt like coming home. The staff was exceptional and the hotel is beautiful. Best massages we ever had. The last night, a staff person took us up to the roof and built us a campfire under a full moon.
My mother and I stayed in the new corner suite at this hotel for three nights in late December 2006. We had a wonderful experience. The staff couldn't have been more kind, caring and attentive. The suite that we stayed in was well worth it! The view from our rooms was outstanding - sunrise to sunset. Having breakfast on the little verandah by the lake was lovely and memorable. I just can't say enough kind words about our experience. I would highly recommend this hotel and staff in this beautiful city!
Melbourne, Australia, Lake Pichola Hotel, Udaipur (Fantastic - Highly recommended) I stayed at this hotel with my family. After a long drive by coach from Jaipur to Udaipur the welcome we received at this hotel was fantastic. Each of my family members were garlanded with fresh red roses and given a chilled glass of lemon juice. For all the four children as well as the four adults, it was a very nice gesture. All the hotel staff were very friendly and ready to serve us anytime. They were literally just a phone call away. The rooms were clean, neat and comfortable. Only be aware that all the rooms have windows without glass and they all face towards the lake - so if you have little children be careful. The suite rooms are grand very spacious as well. The restaurant…
My exprience was awful, room service is horrible, basic house keeping is done only on request. the bathrooms are congested, needs urgent make over. In the room allotted to me, the hot water geyser was not working, inspite of me insisting for 3 days no body bothered to rectify it, only lip service was done. Even the AC failed one night, reported, but no response. Need to be careful we availing taxi service from the reception, please insist on work sheet before engaging. Overall my experience here was bad.
This hotel is excellent value if you go for one of the cheaper rooms. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, even if looked as if it had seen slightly better days. There is an attractive dining room, with verandah right on the lake, and the food is fine. The main reason I would recommend the Lake Pichola is the location, which is fantastic and there are beautiful views of the lake palace from the roof terrace (luckily there was water this year).
