Lake Pichola Hotel captivates many guests with its heritage charm and tastefully decorated rooms that offer clean, comfortable accommodations. While some visitors feel the rooms are a bit snug and suggest maintenance could be enhanced, the breathtaking lake views often compensate for any shortcomings. Guests frequently commend the hotel's location, which is close to local attractions, despite the tricky car access. The hotel's staff earns high marks for their friendly and efficient service, although a few guests report occasional slow responses. While a majority of reviewers appreciate the on-site dining and cultural experiences, some mention the dining value and breakfast variety could be better. Overall, the hotel's amenities, including boat rides, contribute to its appeal, but there are mentions of limited hot water availability.

This was our second time in Udaipur & our first stay at the Lake Pichola Hotel. Its safe to say we will be staying again whenever we next venture to the city of lakes. Our suite stay offorded us two private viewing balconies, each with a 180 degree view of the stunning lake Pichola.

There was a wide variety of breakfast items to choose from & the dishes were changed each morning. I would highly recomment taking your plate outside to eat on the ground floor balcony alongside the lake for maximum serenity!

Restaurnant Upré not only offers stunning day/night time views but also one of the better dining experiences in the city.

My recipee for a memorable stay = Enjoy a long hot shower, wrap up in one of the hotel supplied robes for extra comfort & spend half the day in your balcony, soaking up the view of the lake while you recharge your batteries!

Thankyou Mr Yudhistir Singh for the best hotel stay in my 2 years of living in India!

Regards,
Aaron D.

We visited this property two days back. It’s location, hospitality and food keeps us going there since last 30 years. We consider this property as our second home due to the warmth of the management.

As this is a heritage property - Pipaliya Haweli ( part of it was built in late 18th century ), which gives you the feel of bygone era.

It’s location is a landmark in Udaipur and it’s rooftop restaurant Upre is hotspot for tourists as well as localities. When talking about food, it’s one of the reasons we keep going there. They offer variety of cuisines with authentic taste.

We are very much thankful to Mr. C. B. Singh and his wife ( owner of the property) for making our stay comfortable and cherishable since last three decades. We are also thankful to the front office incharge Mr. Tilak Ji & Mr. Surendra Ji. We also extend our thanks to Mr. Pravin Ji along with all supporting staff.

The best point of this hotel is the location.
The lobby staff taking charge of the luggage and the transfer by e-rickshaw to the parking lot outside of the old town were also very friendly and helpful.
However we had not a good experience here. Having booked an expensive lake view room, which is advertised on booking.com as having a private balcony, we got a room on the ground floor just next to the restaurant. All the rooms with balcony were occupied - our booking was however 5 months in advance, so I wonder how they allocate the “good” rooms. Of course we were charged the full price. But back to our room: During our stay, people were using “our” supposedly private space in front of the room to have their lunch and their dinner. Their empty plates stayed there for hours as the restaurant staff only bothered to clean it up after my complaint at the reception. Also, we were trying to have lunch at the restaurant, but after 30 minutes of waiting for someone to take our order, we gave up and went to another restaurant instead where we got served excellent food in a short time. They offered to give us another room for the second night of our stay, but we preferred to leave and try our luck elsewhere.

The hotel location was A1, the decor very aesthetic, even the music playing in the background was always tasteful. The staff was extremely warm, personalised and constantly strived to make one comfortable and "serve". The management went OUT OF THE WAY to support us for our parents (who are in their 80s). They even let us keep one of the two rooms till 4pm on the day we checked out. This last part is unimaginable and no one before them has ever done that for us over the years. The lake was literally "touchable" from our terrace...it was incredible! If one is forced to scrutinise then maybe the only thing ever that left a wee bit to be desired was the food - we personally didn't find anything we ordered over dinner the two nights flavourful. The quantities were fine though. This is NOT a complaint. Its an observation. We would choose the place time and again. We LOVED the place. By the way, the breakfast was wonderful! Both days :)

An exceptional hotel for exceptional times
We stayed at Lake Pichola Hotel just before the coronavirus crisis started to accelerate in the world, and especially to India. We are so indebted to Mr Chandra Bhanu Singh & his family and staff for not only the most wonderful stay but also checking in on us with genuine love and concern several times a day. This, beyond all the other excellent qualities of the hotel, will always be etched in our hearts.
Of course, the hotel without a doubt is absolutely gorgeous, situated right on the lake and with an incredible view of the city palace from all the lake facing rooms. The rooftop restaurant Upre is divine and perfect for sundowners and dinner. The best part, however, is the ever-smiling and ever courteous team that the hotel has- even in times of intense stress (as the corona crisis developed in Udaipur), they were willing to go above and beyond. We cannot wait to be back in happier times and tell everyone about this absolute gem of a place.

I stayed here for 2 nights and the only real hassle that I faced here was the way to reach the hotel. Any public transport that you use to reach this place will drop you around 300 mts away at a point beyond which they will not go. You will have to coordinate with the hotel so that they send e-rickshaw to pick you up.
I checked in at 8 AM and got the room that I saw online. Mine was a deluxe room with a balcony facing lake. Absolutely loved how spacious the room was and so was the bathroom. I had a vanity room leading to bedroom. The mirrors look a little rusted in bathroom though. The balcony was the best part of the room. The service is nice. People are courteous and helpful around. They can also call autowalas for you who work for them but I feel they overcharge.
The rooftop restaurant is an added advantage which has nice ambience and food. They have an outsourced spa which I couldn’t try due to miscommunication. I think if they have given them the space in the hotel they should make sure their services are equally good.
My checkout was smooth as well. I left the hotel at 5:30 AM and requested them to pack me the breakfast which they did.
Apart from a little glitch here and there, I would still want to be back here if I ever plan to be in Udaipur.

Overall experience is superb as per my experience, balcony view will make you feel top of the world and the best place for the dinner is terrace i shared both photographs, people must go and experienced the same specially for couples 😍 location is little much inside of the streets, you might be stuck with your four wheeler vehicle but if you come by taxi there is a local transport facility through e-rikshwa by hotel. Food is amazing and hospitality and staff members behaviour is good.

Thanks Mr.Yudhishthira(GM HOTEL) for your lovely gesture 🙏

We checked out of our previous hotel disappointed with our luggage in the car and did not have a place to stay for the night. While strolling through the lake we came across few hotels and just walked into Lake Pichola Hotel to check availability. Just on entering me and my husband decided that we have to stay here. Online they were sold out but luckily they did have 2 rooms available. They showed us both, lake facing and non lake facing. The first one was slightly expensive but worth the choice. We took the lake view room and do not regret shelling out some extra thousands at all. It had a small balcony which had an extravagant view at night. The sunrise from here was mesmerizing. They have a restaurant "Upre" which is usually sold out. We dined there and had a once in a lifetime experience. The staff was amazing and Yudhishthir, there Operations Manager was really
friendly and customer centric. Highly recommend for an unforgettable Experience !!

PS : The attached pictures is original and clicked by us during the Sunrise. No photoshop.

Hotel Lake Pichola is simply wonderful. The staff, the ambience, the rooms and oh, the lake view from the balcony is to die for.
Why I recommend this place
1. The location
The city palace and all major attractions, boat rides , temples are all barely a 10 min walk from here

2. The Rooms and the Balcony
The rooms are pretty spacious, clean and the key attraction is their balcony.
It has a beautiful lake view, view of the city palace, gangaur ghat, taj lake palace.

3. Their Rooftop Restaurant - Upre'
The place has a great rooftop restaurant with a view that looks great a night
The place had live instrumental music (DJ also to be introduced soon) and the food was also good.

4. The staff is very warm and the property is beautiful as well. The architecture and interiors are rajasthani and give a royal feel.
The General Manager, Mr. Yudhishthir was very courteous and helpful.

Overall, I highly recommend this place. A lot of people asked us to visit Ambrai Restaurant and we did, only to realise that the view we have from our room was far better than that of Ambrai Restaurant and the ambience of Upre' Restaurant was much more lively.

I have visited Lake Pichola Hotel several times now. Sometimes as a ‘treat’ to celebrate the start of a Rajasthan tour and sometimes as the celebratory ‘treat’ to end the tour. However, this time in March/ April it was our first, last and in between ‘treat’.
We arrived the day that hotels were advised not to admit tourists. The owner, a most honourable man could not find it in his heart to turn us away and therefore welcomed us into his hotel for the 3 nights we had booked even though all other tourists had left trying to catch last minute flights.
Then, suddenly, lockdown occurred next day and so we, the owner and family, and staff specially kept on for us, were all in lockdown together.
44 days later (and feeling like family) we left after what proved to be an amazing, humbling and unforgettable experience.
This was entirely due to the owner and staff who did everything in their power to keep us safe, healthy and very happy. Nothing was too much trouble and indeed there were so many unexpected little kindnesses shown to us. They wanted us to feel at home as much as possible.
I’ve always loved this hotel. Beautiful rooms with delightful balconies overlooking the lake, superb menu served to the incredible rooftop restaurant under the stars and the wonderful staff, a pleasure to greet every day. And now it’s firmly in my heart.
This is truly a marvellous hotel to stay and I recommend it immensely, a remarkable little gem, run by remarkable people.
