We brought a group from Western Australia to Lake Pichola Hotel. The process since my first communication until check out went smoothly and easily.

Myself and the rest of the group members loved everything about the hotel: The reception was lovely and we made feel welcomed and special, the decor and ambience were great, our room was specious with a stunning view over the lake. Florence of India...
The staff were friendly and professional and included several women in positions at reception, kitchen and cleaning jobs. I hope this trend will continue and we will see more women in the hospitality industry in India :-) The hotel also has its own boat and travel service which is convenient. The rooftop restaurant was very good with a wide selection of fine food and drinks (a bit pricey, but worth it). The breakfast buffet had a wide and tasty selection of fresh local and continental food, with a live flute concert in the background. Very lovely stay, I can't wait to be back. Thank you Tilak and the rest of the team.

We are in Isolation due to the Pandemic and as we sit with a cup of tea our thoughts return to Lake Pichola Hotel ....and we smile. This has to be the BEST hotel we have stayed in in India. Greeted by a smiling uniformed driver with the Hotel Tuk Tuk we were transported to the hotel along narrow streets where vehicles are not permitted. At the hotel we were smilingly and smoothly booked in, fresh flowers placed around our necks and a welcoming glass of punch in our hands before we were escorted to our room overlooking beautiful Lake Pichola. On our balcony two doves cooed. The room was spacey and well laid out. Everything very clean. The bathroom had a selection of shampoos for my wife who was delighted and I put the kettle on for a cup of coffee. We had a choice of air conditioning or a ceiling fan. As darkness fell the lights on all the properties around the lake reflected in the water, we sat on the balcony with a glass of champagne and said, ‘life does not get much better than this’. After a great nights sleep we came down to a magnificent breakfast. So much choice from just cereals and toast to any style eggs, to vegetarian dishes, silver salvers with six local dishes, to sausages with all the trimmings, tea coffee and juices. As we ate a talented musician sitting on a minute high stage played historical and new tunes on his flute. After a very satisfying breakfast it was good to relax with a coffee in the adjacent couch area, or on the long restaurant balcony overlooking the water, and read the Times of India. The staff treated us truly well. They were compatible with staff at Raffles in Singapore or the Connaught in London. Once this dreadful time of Pandemic is over we will be back.

We were hesitant at first to try this local hotel but when we arrived we were pleasantly happy with the local decor, non assuming nature of the place. Certainly not your 5 stars but for the location, simplicity and views - this is a marvelous hotel. Location is good because one is not in the noisy old part yet not to far away to walk to.

The staff were all quite friendly and attentive. The check in was quick & fuss free. We had the room with the balcony which had a beautiful view of the old city over the lake and catches the sunrise rising above the jagdish temple opposite.

In the night, the restaurant on the rooftop is absolutely stunning for its views and food. So book in advance. It’s that popular.

The hotel also provides a sunset cruise which we took. At this time of the year, it’s worth taking and we feel better than a day cruise.

The downside is a basic room so forget 4 or 5 stars but everything is functioning. Adapt a little if you need. The breakfast is decent but basic so nothing to shout about. Good coffee, tea and basic bread toast egg station etc. coupled with the usual local Indian fare.

We enjoyed our stay here and also had the good honor to chat with the owner mr CB Singh who happened to be having his breakfast in the yard when we were exploring the place.

we (me ,my husband, and son 7yr old) traveled to udaipur in mid of jan 20 we booked lake pichola hotel for 2 days. hotel is excellent specialy for its location. services are also good. only reach to hotel is difficult but it was not big issue for those who r OK to walk for 500m or go by local rikshow. even i love to walk on small roads to hotel because of small shops of handicraft things, hand made jewellery and especially the rustic feel of old rajasthan.. view from balcony of room is stunning especially in night lighting of city palace and ghat on opposite side. some one said for rooftop dinner ambari restaurant is best but its highly crowded instead of that we booked roof top restaurant of lake pichola is most romantic place we found 2 complete days are enough for udaipur one who don't want to do site seen as per regular itinerary. as per me city palace is biggest attraction of udaipur. it is worth to spent minimum 3 hr in city palace. sunset ride in lake pichola is another big attraction of udaipur trip. i will not suggest to do boat ride in fathe sagar lake as its not worth as per me. some more good attractions of udaipur are Saheliyo ki bhari (its a garden made for ladies of royal families in old time) , traditional puppet show and dance performances in kala mandir, evening walk on ghat of lake pichola. some more things we did but i think are not worth is Vintage car (400 rs entry) , Ambari ghat (its very isolated inside no proper reach even not at all maintained) . for shopping hathi pol market is one of the best (please start bargain form half the price) for bandhani ,juties and handicraft decorative items over all its very nice city which takes u in royal and ancient atmosphere of Rajsthan. 3rd day we viseted Hldighati (small video clip and some 3d seans are maid on life of Maharana Pratap) its good to visit . after that we visited Kumbhalgad (birtplace of Maharana Pratap) very old fort. its very nice we spent 3 hr to see complet fort. i will suggest to visit it in second half of the day so that at end we can see the light show on fort . we stayed at kumbhalgadh for that night .at kubhalghad wild life safari is also big attraction. 4 th day we moved to mount abu a hill station in Rajasthan. spending 2 days in mount abu is difficult because 1 day sit seen is more than enough i loved 3 things in mount abu are nikkilake boat ride , Dilwaada temple(jain temple) and 1degree freezing temperature . we stayed in hotel Starling which is also very nice property with scenic view and good hospitality and services.

Below is my honest review from a couple who travels frequently
1. Room shown on photo is not the exact one you would receive. I got 2 options a dark room with tiny balcony and another with no balcony.
2. They give you bad rooms and offer you slightly better ones for a much higher charge ( without bill cash only ) this way I was forced to upgrade and they made money
3. I had added pathetic bathroom pics on google , unfortunately no option to add here. Black / brown unwashed marks all around which was disgusting and make it very difficult to use the bathroom, upon showing the pics they only clicked a pic and didn’t even apologise for the poor cleanliness.
4. Balconies are filled with dust and pigeon left overs which is never clean, view from lake view room is good tho.
5. People are allowed to smoke anywhere, be it the courtyard or the lake view table where customers frequently stand to take pics/ go for boating
6.plug points for my Apple phone chargers never worked unless you tilt the adapter to the socket , same for all sockets . Hotel had identified this and provided 1 adaptor for each room, hence I had take turns to charge.
7. Roof restaurant has a really great view , food was a bit oily and was not bad but the ambience really did it. Big plus here
8. We booked double bed but was provided 2 single beds joined together hence had an issue with my back as I slept on the partition
9. Imagine using a black fungal Commode , jet spray in your toilet, had shared pics with hotel. Including grey towels. Hotel needs to upgrade
10. You cannot reach the hotel in car. U have to get down a few kms away and take a Rick/ tuk tuk to reach there.
In my 10 years of travelling with around 100+ hotels this is by far the worst place I have been and would recommend places like ameth haveli or spend a bit more on trident for Udaipur

Hotel Lake Pichola is undoubtedly the best place to stay in Udaipur. The attached photos of the view of the hotel and from the room are a testament to the prime location of the hotel and unparalled views of the pristine Lake Pichola and the imposing City Palace. The rooms themselves are beautifully decorated, squeaky clean and stocked adequately for a comfortable stay.

The staff was cheery, accomodative and helpful, which made the stay just that much better. The breakfast buffet is sumptuous. The rooftop restaurant at the hotel - 'Upre' offers stunning views and even better food/drinks. The hotel also offers acitivities such as sunset boat rides around the lake. The hotel staff can also guide you as regards other activities such as old city tours and temples runs. Must book for your Udaipur vacation.

We stayed here for 3 days in December and instantly fell in love with the decor of the room and attached balcony offering a panoramic view of Lake Pichola, hence the name of the hotel. Rooms, lobby, reception were very well lit up and had ethnic decor, everything was neat and clean. During our stay we had dinner at their roof top restaurant Upre which offered a breathtaking view of Lake Pichola. The sumptuous dinner amidst soothing live Flute and Tabla recital, what more can one ask for!
We would especially like to thank the General Manager, Mr Yudhishthir, who went out of his way to cater to all our requirements, without his hospitality our stay at Udaipur wouldn’t have been so memorable and fun filled.
Thank you so much Mr Yudhishthir.
Thanks to the entire cooperative staff.

Udaipur was last destination of my honeymoon and New Years, being a first time traveler to Udaipur I was super confused where to stay. Although, Udaipur being one of the top luxury destination and choice among worldwide travelers, it is loaded with luxury hotel chains and to choose among those expensive hotels is an easy pick but I chose to research a bit before booking any of those big hotels and trust me I researched a lot from finding convenience to best sunset view to amazing night view of city palace.

Hotel Lake Pichola win it all, offered me everything I was looking for. I had options to book hotels which gave the best sunset view but I realized that every hotel around Lake Pichola offers a sunset boat ride and trust me when the sun sets the golden light of the setting sun on city palace looks amazing but very few talks about it.

Lake Pichola doesn't give a sunset view but definitely offers you a sunset boat ride (at a reasonable cost) and an amazing view night view of the city palace, old city, hanuman ghat and temples.

I booked their suite room which has a swing, a large low seating area and a spacious room which offered me the best view.

Let's talk about their hospitality, well I have traveled and stayed at one of the best hotels in the world but the warmth and hospitality I enjoyed here was amazing. My special thanks to Shri. Chandrabhanu Singh Ji & his wife (owners) for treating us like a family and not just this he actually cooked couple of dishes from his royal kitchen especially for us, which left me heartfelt and welcomed.

Last but not the least, I never thought that in this trip of mine I will earn a friend for life, Yudhishthira Singh, GM Hotel Lake Pichola (Yudi - is what I call him). He made our trip extra memorable by offering us all the luxury and hospitality one can expect. A genuinely amazing friend and a courteous host.

I highly recommend this place for people traveling to Udaipur, who wants to enjoy the luxury, views, hospitality and good food without breaking their bank ;)

Wishing them all the very best.

Thanks,
Mayank & Neha

Beautiful property with equally beautiful service. The location is just perfect especially if you want to enjoy the scenic beauty of Lake pichola or the City palace. Try to get the lake facing rooms for a better experience, but incase you don’t get it, you need not worry as they have a rooftop restaurant facing the lake and also a small space near the lobby to enjoy the view while you sip on some tea. The staff was very helpful in providing us with whatever we required, from cab service to dropping us till the cab as the entrance to almost all the hotels in Udaipur are narrow and not very convenient. But the hotel doesn’t let you feel the downside of it, as they take care of it for you. Just call them, and they’re ready to help you out.

This was our 4th visit to Lake Pichola Hotel (so that says a lot) and what was supposed to be a 3 night stay on our independent tour of Rajasthan turned into 1 and a half months!!
We arrived just as lockdown in India was about to happen and instead of being turned away as many travelers at many other hotels were – Mr Singh the owner invited us in and welcomed us with open arms and an open heart.
This is a stunningly beautiful hotel set in an amazing location with easy access by foot to all areas of the old town. If you like walking and pottering around traditional little back streets, you will love it here. The hotel has amazing views over the lake, beautiful rooms and fabulous food in it’s famous roof top restaurant but this place is about so much more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a place filled with human kindness where nothing is too much trouble, and as Mr Singh always says, “Guest is God” and that’s exactly how we were treated.
Mr and Mrs Singh you, your family and every member of your staff are the kindest, most caring and compassionate human beings. Not only for allowing us into your home at this most uncertain of times but for making it our home and our family. You all showed us the true meaning of human kindness and we were truly blessed to reach the safety of your 4 walls.
We pray for your safe passage through this choppy Covid sea and we can’t wait to visit once again when this is all over.
