I stayed here for three nights while attending a hotel. The staff was attentive, very accommodating, and attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of (bags delivered to room, room cleaned everyday, facilitated shuttles to the airport). Sometimes the communication was lacking but I think that could been due to the language barrier. I would recommend them
Highly recommend Lake Pichola Hotel. The staff are especially kind and the accommodations are beautiful. We had a lovely view overlooking the lake with a nice balcony. Very close to lots of attractions and beautiful breakfast every morning.
This is not my first visit to this hotel, it is my second and I have to say they are one of the best when it comes to hospitality. They help you arrange the city tour as well. The entire team was good and helpful but Mr. Tilak is the best. When I went to this hotel for the first time, he was so kind and helpful after that, I sent my relatives to this hotel and he was the same with them. Thank you, Tilakji for everything. The only thing I would like them to work on it is their breakfast buffet, it is pretty ok but their lunch and dinner at Upre Restaurant are simply amazing.
- Beautifully located with a fun checkin process in a boat at lake pichola - Beautiful night view from the in house Upre restaurant - Very courteous and friendly staff, helping you with all your requests - sumptuous breakfast and food offerings
Loved this hotel. Although a little tired in places and especially the rooms, it has a lot of charms. We were directly opposite Bagore Ki Haveli and a five minute walk from the gate itself. We loved the city and spent hours walking the streets taking in the local culture. Food was good plenty of variety and always fresh. A simple touch was a thank you cake for our group on the second to last day. The hotel was always helpful with their advice and at times paid for the use of ‘Indian Helicopters’ to help us get around. The staff were exceptional; friendly, happy (commonly laughing out loud amongst themselves as they went about their work), helpful, and couldn’t do enough for you. The chap at the gate and the friendly Lab were always welcoming with a smile. The only downside was a recommended city sightseeing tour hijacked by a shopping tour with all the hallmarks of a hard sell by all his friends and business partners. I was not happy with that.…
TL;DR: Lake Pichola Hotel looks good on the outside, but is filthy on the inside. They have patronising, racist staff, and poor upkeep and hygiene. You will regret booking a room there. Go to one of the MANY other amazing options in Udaipur. I'd give this hotel negative stars if I could. Be your own judge once you read the details below: We prebooked (and prepaid) 4 rooms at this hotel for a party of 9 adults, including 4 seniors with various mobility limitations and 3 young children under the age of 5, more than a month ahead. We had informed the hotel through Booking.com and a phonecall of the same. When we arrived, we were greeted by a beautifully decorated property and were happy. But that’s when our nightmare started. Firstly, we were not given rooms together despite booking well ahead of time, in fact all rooms were far from each other. The rooms that we were given were inaccessible by us with steep steps, and dirty, dingy, dust ridden pathway towards the room. It looked like these rooms hadn’t been accessed in months. When we approached the counter, we were greeted by a Mr Surendra Singh Jodha who was extremely dismissive of our disappointment at the accessibility of the room and cleanliness of the hotel. He then suggested that we pay a fee to have 2 of our 4 rooms upgraded, not actually solving our problem. He denied ever receiving our note of the limitations of our party, and kept insisting that we are given the best possible rooms. We then asked for a refund of the booking fee due to the impossible conditions for us, and he had insisted that this was subject to the hotel’s discretion, and that they would eventually issue us a cheque - an assurance flippantly scribbled on a scrap piece of paper. On seeing their lack of sincerity we requested for a cash refund. Our request for immediate refund was denied (one of the excuses was they had no cash on site). Simultaneous, we also spoke to other FOREIGN hotel guests, they commented that their rooms were very good. What ensued was a flat-out denial of any wrong-doing from Surendra and his team at the hotel. There was deception, dishonesty, disrespect and exploitative racism from his end. Deception: That these rooms were the only rooms available based on our booking, and that better rooms were not available at our time of booking, which were now available at a fee. Dishonesty: That they had no cash on site – they did, and eventually upon prolonged pressure gave us a full refund in cash Disrespect: Insisted that the mobility issues of the elders and children were not a concern of theirs Racist exploitation: Better rooms were provided to non-resident Indian and foreign guests, saving the worst rooms in the house for domestic guests, likely also due to the fact that they had the full fee paid in advance The result: We faced a very challenging situation with no food for the kids (all of them went to sleep without having a proper dinner), and we finally had to scramble for a hotel room, where we ended up paying double of what we were supposed to pay.…
A beautiful lake facing hotel with magnificent views. Must avail the boat ride at 5pm via the hotel (not inclusive to stay cost) along Lake Pichola… watch the beautiful sunset along the way. Their rooftop restaurant Upre is the biggest highlight… ensure to book in advance for a lake facing table. The night views are beautiful! Lots to explore in the old city too.
This place was beautiful! It was the nicest place we stayed on our two week India trip. It was relieving to have hot water to shower in without asking for it to be turned on, and a clean, comfortable room with a heater. The food here was amazing and the rooftop dining was beautiful under the full moon. They have a really good breakfast buffet as well. We had to end our 4 day stay early because of an emergency back home and the staff was very accommodating and helpful of our situation. Highly recommend!
It was our 5th anniversary, and we were lucky to pick our stay at Lake Pichola. Beautifully located on the banks of Lake Pichola, what made our trip more beautiful is their staff. Right from their warm welcome, to picking & dropping us even at midnight – they impressed us throughout. Special mention about Priyanka, who was very helpful and supportive throughout. She helped us with restaurant bookings, arranging passes for ‘Bagore Ki Haveli’ and gave some amazing recommendations. Thank you, Priyanka, for everything! You are a fantastic host. Hoping to see you soon.
I visited this amazing stay in Dec 2022 which was anniversary surprise for r parents frm myself and my sister. And it was worth every penny. Right from the location, hospitality, cleanliness the gesture of each & evry staff, the food every was to jus perfect. I was late to chk in as i ws travelling wth a tour and had booked this separately, however th staff was so sweet to wait back fr us late night and also welcome us in their sweet way wch made it all d more beautiful. I got chance to meet the owner as well who is an amazing person himself. Dat made me realise the reason the hospitality is so good. I would suggest evryone to visit this aatleast once fr uur stay in Udaipur. I am sure you we all will remember this sweet experience throughout r life. Thanks Lake Pichola...
