Cosy room with a lovely balcony overlooking lake Pichola, affordable and great hospitality!!The best part is that it is very close to the rather famous Lal ghat and yet away from the chaos. Waking up to the beautiful view that the hotel offered was a pleasure indeed :)

"As I walked in I was met by the owner Mr. Karan Singh Rathore with a welcoming smile and friendly energy.
The place is so comfortable that you just sip delicious coffee ☕ enjoy the peace, the view and the relaxing atmosphere.
Due to covid times they just reopened the place back up and I was truly treated like family not feeling away from home at all.
I recomend this place for solo, familiies, couples and any one else that enjoys good service, food and friendly atmosphere.
Though within a short, pleasant stroll from the heart of old city, JayDurg is remarkable for its tranquility and magnificence, Conceptualized, designed, created and run by Karan Singh Rathore, JayDurg is a superbly modern hotel, which pampers you with all the facilities, amenities and luxuries a 21st century traveler expects.
While JayDurg is modern at heart, the owners have made every effort to incorporate all those architectural and decorative features that make living in the city of Udaipur a pleasure.
JayDurg offers guests the best of both worlds; the latest standards, blending happily with old-world charm. The elegant rooftop restaurant with the natural cool breeze makes a perfect retreat the midday heat. Dine in the evening in a romantic ambience, muted lighting, gentle music, shining cutlery and spotless napery.
The reflection of the illuminated palaces in the waters of the lake and the twinkling lights of the city won’t fail to enchant you.
They offer a high standard of cuisine form a comprehensive menu. Upon the terrace discover a perfect spot to relax, or swim in; away form the noise and bustle of the city street with the restaurant close-at-hand to supply you with drinks, snacks or meals.
Most of the rooms have have balconies hanging on the lake overlooking the walled city of Udaipur. It has a stunning roof top wid 360 degrees view and an elegant restaurant.
Each guestroom has its own character and style, with carefully soft furnishings and décor; and a delightful view that can be savored form the jharokha.
Thanks I'll be back many times over. 🙏🙏🙏✨"

The property is absolutely newly developed but the management gives you a feel that they are masters in hospitality. Food is biggest issue but the taste, quality and most importantly hygiene here exceeds expectations. Too good food! Housekeeping is up to the mark. And it gives you satisfaction that my money is well spent as my family loved it. Thank you Team Jaydurg!!! Will keep visiting

Located at the beautiful Lake Pichola, Jaydurg is a True Sample of Excellent Hospitality with picturesque view of the Lake, combined with an extremely clean, comfortable & cozy ambiance.
Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by the Owner of the Hotel Mr. Karan Singh. He ensured to make my trip more interesting with his advice & tips about the city. Owing to the Covid19 Pandemic, the Hotel staff ensured all the right precautions were taken to make my stay as safe as being at Home.
The Hotel is well equipped with the modern amenities & yet fantastically succeeds in providing the tranquility a Lake Resort offers. The morning coffee combined with the serene views of the morning birds at the Lake from the Room's gallery is the perfect way to start a day on vacation.
My highlight of the stay was the Roof Top Dinner offering a reflection of the illuminated palaces in the waters of the lake and the twinkling lights of the city which won’t fail to enchant you.
I highly recommend this hotel to everybody!!!

Not feeling like giving a star.
In winters they don't even provide hot water to take a bath, un-clean rooms, , difficult to get an auto-rickshaw, at one end of the ghat, manner-less owner and very reluctant.
Take a stay only if you want a horrible experience in Udaipur

Response from Jaydurg A lake Retreat, Owner at Jaydurg - A Lake Retreat
Responded 3 Feb 2021
Respected Sir Greetings from JayDurg, Udaipur At the outset, please allow me to thank you for our first review in the "Terrible" category, so much so that you "didn't feel like giving us a star".. While it makes us ponder over what we did (or not) to achieve this rare distinction; it also introduces us to perspectives in terms of valid dissatisfaction, and otherwise. I assure you that we see this response to your review as an opportunity to extend our unconditional apologies for various alleged inconveniences faced by you during your stay with us; to make improvements in our services, and to assure you that we now totally understand what the threat- "TripAdvisor pe dekh lenge", literally, "We'll see you on TripAdvisor" means. And I presume that venting it out here must have been gratifying for you. Allow us to present our side of the story, and to offer explanations pertaining to the claims in an order of appearance (and some of our own) as per the following: 1. We are a relatively new, family run establishment, in less than half a year of operation, thanks to the virus. The situation forced us to alter our marketing and operation strategies since there were many restrictions at play. However, there has been absolutely ZILCH compromise on certain things such as equipment, cleanliness, basic amenities and facilities etc. 2. Your party of four did not book your rooms online on some travel portal, but made a payment to us directly once you were satisfied with your research of our property (online). We were absolutely delighted to see you upon arrival, as with any of our other Godly guests, and checked you in. What I don't seem to comprehend here, is that why would you accept "unclean rooms" to begin with? As stated earlier, we are a new, family run establishment, and are very particular about cleanliness, sanitization and hygiene, especially in the COVID times. Despite being right on the lake, except some rare cobwebs in areas not exposed to guests, we DO NOT face any insect or bug issues, despite moisture and mud (from the lake), thanks to our strict and thorough pest control exercises. You always took your room key with you during your three night stay with us, and your room was cleaned twice as per your instructions- in your presence- on two consecutive days out of your three night stay (excluding the day of check in/out). Please excuse my ignorance, but how could the rooms be unclean? 3. Each one of our (room and suite) bathrooms, (irrespective of the category) is equipped with a modern and fully functional electric water heater (geyser). This ensures that hot water is available to our guests on demand. The geysers however, have a certain capacity and once all the hot water inside its tank is consumed, it takes some time to reheat the cold water that replaces the used hot water. This is the normal process. This is precisely what we explained to you during your stay and you did seem to accept the same. As an extra service to our guests, we did supply one of the rooms with extra buckets of hot water so that they did not have to wait for the geyser to reheat the water. The next day no extra buckets were asked for. Why claim there was no hot water? And for 03 nights/days? 4. We happily arrange local transport (tuk- tuks / auto rickshaws or otherwise) for our guests almost instantly. We did that for you as well once you asked for it, you just had to say the word. The old city in Udaipur surrounds lake Pichhola and almost all streets are narrow. Even the City Palace of Udaipur is accessed by negotiating with those narrow streets...! We are no exception. We are located in the old town, accessible by traversing the narrow streets, but bang on the lake, so much so that you could stand on the bank and feed the fish...! I am sure you must have spotted the fabled Oberoi Udaivilas on our centre right and the fabulous Leela Palace to our left within a stone's throw. We are working on permissions to bring our guests in by boat- delayed due to the virus situation, but will soon be a reality. Accessibility is most certainly not a problem. Please ask us, we will be happy to pick you up and drop you off at locations of your choice. And we did, for you too. 5. If I may, the way I see it, they were the trivial things that perhaps spoiled the "experience" for you (and we couldn't be sorrier for the same). As you must be aware that the hospitality industry is one of the worst hit, we adopted some measures to ensure that we continue to be affordable for our guests, while empowering them to choose whether or not they want certain services and may pay for them (or not) accordingly. This ensures that the room tariff remains on the lower side and the guests have the power to buy the services they want, as extras. We are happy to provide as much RO/UV filtered water as our guests require- absolutely free of cost. Afterall, it's a part of our culture, isn't it? We drink the same, and we don't drink bottled water at home, do we? However, if you insist that you require bottled mineral water, we are happy to provide you the same, but naturally for a charge, because we incur it, and we have not added the same to the room tariff. Practically speaking, can anything be free? You pay for everything. It's just that it is either charged separately or included in the room tariff. We chose the former because we thought it would be unfair to include paid water (bottled) in the room tariff, because the guests may be happy with RO/UV filtered water. Why charge them beforehand for services they may not use? You were quite unhappy about the same and wanted the bottles to be free. This made you upset, we understood that and are sorry. And we did make an exception for you. We did provide them to you- free of cost. 6. There were other "incidents" but listing all would make this super long (longer than it already is). You ordered items that were not listed on the menu, our accommodating kitchen staff were happy to curate them for you. However, upon check out you did not want to pay the amount asked for as you claimed that the item was not listed on the menu. See the irony? And you did not settle the full amount anyway upon checkout- I will not mention the discount you took because it would make us both appear too petty. 7. What hit us the hardest, if I may, was the uncivil argument you presented and the heated words you showered our front office representative with, because of the food bill. Poor girl was almost in tears and was choked, and that is when I had to intervene. That is when I interfered. I am truly sorry if I appeared to be rude, because I wasn't, I had absolutely no intention to be the same, and because there was little I could do. To sum it up, I offer profound apologies for all or any "inconvenience" that you faced at our property. This is most certainly not the kind of experience we aim to offer to our guests, though I truly wish we had a way to make everyone happy. We appreciate your business, we can't thank you enough for having chosen us, and we do hope to welcome you in future and we assure we would be better prepared. Namaste.

We mistakenly paid before we saw the room. The carpet was dirty and the whole hotel felt very budget.
We canceled our booking in line with the free cancellation policy but they refused to refund. I'm not taking this up with my credit card company to dispute the payment.
There is nothing near by and when we arrived in Udaipur the tok tok driver had to phone the hotel for direction.
In fairness they did let us check in at 7am. We check out just after 8am.
